I gave HP as an example as I thought that would be the most widely known, but intelligent goblins have been around since at least the 80's in various D&D settings and the Midkemia books by Raymond E Feist (who actually based his world on an old D&D game he used to play with friends). They're frequently distinguished from their more common savage cousins by having blue skin colour instead of the more traditional green...

So that's the main difference then?
I must say, I never even considered the fact that a Goblin could do any kind of smything so I was pretty surprised. Hasn't anyone wondered what kind of weapons or armor a Goblin could make? Since they're pretty small, I doubt they could make an entire suit of armor all by themselves, right? Maybe one could but, it would probably take a long time, especially without help...
