Wow..cool stuff!Pretty interesting. This stuff is actually sort of a crisis for pro vegetarian organizations like PETA because members are torn over weather this solves the animal ethics problem of eating meat or not.
Potential to greatly alleviate world hunger problems. Its more space efficient than raising cattle (even with factory farm situations)
It is done in laboratory conditions, so risk of diseases (e-coli, etc) are lower, and therefore the need for all the antibiotics is alleviated. This means less creation of drug resistant disease. The factory farming situations that gave rise to things like mad cow disease or scrapie are also absent.
Has a health benefit as nutritional value can be manipulated to have more vitamins, omega-3's etc.
Also has other random far reaching consequences, like sustainable food source for long space voyages or for a Martian colony.
Leather or Fur products also need not be cruel to animals.
