I think another reason why the media did not go after Obama as it had with Hillary Clinton and John McCain is because they did not want to be branded as racist. Race unfortunately is a touchy issue in the United States. Look at Hurricane Katrina, the whole 'looter' and 'pillaging for food event' it still exists.
I say it doesn't matter lets stop looking at things collectively, and focus on the individual itself.
