My closet is full of nothing but unfolded cloths... my shed, however, is choke full of metal work tools, scrap iron, old toys, cooking stuff and all sorts of other stuff I've never seen before... I think... I even found a Mechano like mini steam engine that I hooked up to a Lego chasis to make... a steam powered robot! Don't even get me started on whats in my model railway room... mrgreen

My closet had red beads, metal discs from a fake scailmail costume I never got around to, tons of red, white, and black fabric, buttons, feathers, a mask, and tons of other random stuff I have never used and forgot about. Any suggestions for what to do with them would be appreciated.

I have an extraordinary amount of junk in my closet.
Lots and lots of fabric, hats of all sorts, sculpting wires, umbrellas [most that are broken now], keys... Watches and watch parts....everywhere..filling a few boxes and drawers. I have enough little gears and whatnot to replace all easter confetti with gears. Watch cases, chains, some movements that tick if they feel like it...

Im surprised at how much useful junk i seem to have, I have a ridiculous amount of copper and brass trinkets and doodads i just need to find a good use for them. Yesterday i found a stack of antique coins i had forgotten about not worth any real money but beautiful when they are cleaned, a bag full of spent brass rifle casings and two candle holders that are like goblets with fret work patterns all over, not useful in themselves but the bases unscrew to make a sort of shallow cone. Im thinking either the funkiest and most un-useful goggles known to man or the top of a mini top hat! Now i'm about to dismantle a broken clock for the coggy springy goodness within.

Hoo boy, I cannot wait until I clean out my storage unit. I haven't seen the stuff I put there in years, and there's nothing like a little time away from something to start realising its many unconventional uses.
In my actual closet, however, I have an entire dresser devoted to my... eccentricities. I have one drawer devoted to costumes, fabric, and interesting old jewelry, another devoted to craft supplies (ribbons, hot glue, silk flowers, sealing wax... you get the idea), and the top of it is simply covered in unfinished projects and miniature top hats.
I have never been able to bring myself to throw things away, even when I was little. It used to drive my parents crazy. "What is this?" "It's an empty candy box." "Then why isn't it in the trash?" "Because what if I NEED an empty candy box for a project?"
