What do you guys feel about the fall of Washington Mutual? I think that a lot of charitees are going to fall because WaMu was a large donater to those things... They may have been bought off, but thats not exactly a good thing..

I am glad they got bought out though. It makes me feel safer banking with them. I am almost to the point of just not using banks at all but somebody has to cash my checks...
I do feel sorry for the charities that might suffer.

My boyfriend got a bit nervous but since people are insured for up to $100k he calmed down. I'm a BoA user so it didnt really effect me.

I bank with the Navy Fed. Credit Union up in Marysville - I doubt they're going to get liquidated anytime soon. Frickin' sweet interest rates, too.

They passed a new one and it is the middle class people like me who have to pay for it. I hate this. I hate taxes. I wish that Ron Paul was president and would get rid of taxes. Like he would have done that anyways, all poloticians lie.

You know, since I actually don't have over $100,000 in the bank, I could care less who owns the bank. I'm garaunteed to still have my money in the bank, so I don't worry at all.
Actually, this market collapse has been saving me money. The only people losing money are the people that put money into in the first place.
So what if the taxes go up? How much would it be anyway? A small percentage? Hell, gas has already droped more then 30 cents here, and is still dropping. foos prices are fluxcuating downward.... I think I'm actually saving money now...
Actaully, the only bad thing that could possibly come out of this for me would be if the government ownded ALL the banks. Then we are treadding water on the edge of socialism... But without getting into that too much, Wamu getting pwnd by the government is good for me. Cheers! O_o

yeah, but I'm a true optimist to a fault.
There could be a nuclear holocaust, And I'll be like, "Hey look! We've never had snow in august before! This is great!"
But back to reality... If you have no money in the market, then you really shouldn't care unless you plan on reaping the benifits of buying the lowered stocks. But for that to happen, you would have to have a nestegg outside of the market, which is pretty much not an option for normal people.
