The father walked proudly down the path away from his home and Pride Rock toward the place he called home for a good deal of his life. It was about time he took a few of his little ones to meet the sole, perhaps not the /sole/, reason he has them in his life. With his great red-auburn mane, crimson eyes, and large frame, he paved the way through the tall grass for the youngsters to follow after him with their tiny paws. Ezekiel did not need to look back to see how they were faring, he was confident enough to know that they were right there, together. It has been quite a while since he had actually spoken to his Uncle, but he had a feeling that there were new faces to see there and he had his own new faces for the Charmer to meet.
"Hey Dad, when we get there, can we go play?" The only female of the group spoke up. It was one of Ezekiel's daughters, Taalis, the rambunctious and very dominating female who loved to play games and win. If not win, make the male who challenged know that females are not to be taken lightly. In fact, two of the males that were with her knew not to compete with her unless they were prepared to lose. Taking much after her mother's appearance, she had her father's proud presence.
"Taalis, when we place, can we play in teams?" Eiji'dai, her half-brother, spoke up as he walked beside her. Taking after his father's appearance, he also took on his personality but was as skilled a hunter as his mother. But it was he and Taalis who had the most fun when it came to their games. He purposely let Taalis win where as the other three; Stallion, his Zebra friend, Aeonus, the family's friend, and Lo Gosh, Taalis' weirdo maned wolf friend.
"That wouldn't be fair, Eiji'dai, there are only three of us. I may be older but that doesn't mean it would be alright for you two to gang on me. If you were talking about you and me up against Taalis, that wouldn't be proper to outnumber a female. You remember what your Dad sai-"
"Aeonus, you don't have to lecture them about what I teach them. Let me handle that," Their father's baritone voice spoke out ahead of them, catching their attention. Each of their ears fell back thinking they were in some sort of trouble. Though Aeonus was not one of his cubs, he treated him much like one and happily taught him what he knew if he was willing to listen. In return, he got to play with Taalis anytime he wanted to, he felt safe knowing that his daughter was being taken care of by a fellow Pride Lander. "Yes, Taalis, you all may place when you get there. Taalis, no dominating stuff, be good to your brothers while they are here and Aeonus, try not to be too easy on her, you are older so you are privileged to discipline her if ya feel ya have to," Ezekiel sneered as he got a sharp complain from his daughter.
Poking at the little ones were amusing, especially their responses.
Just ahead, he could see where their destination was. The father's heart skipped a bit as he got closer, excited for one of his best friends and family will be seeing his cubs for the first time. Turning his head back, he look at all the cubs that he had intended to bringing, "Is everyone here? ... Where's ...."
