This devotional is about submitting. This is sort referring to Luke 2:41-51 (NIV version) While Mary, Joseph, and Jesus (he was 12) took a trip somewhere to visit friends and family. Mary and Joseph left and they saw that Jesus wasn't with them, so they thought that He was with family or friends and thought He would catch up. After one day they got worried. They went back to the town. They found Jesus at the synogouge discussing with the priests. His parents scolded Him (though He didn't sin). He had different priorities then them. Disagreements aren't bad - its just the way you handle them determines if its bad.

VALUE-PAC
How To Become A Person Of Character
Values

WHERE DO THEY COME FROM?
Values come from one of two places, the world, or the Word. Values from the world can include "no absolutes" "no real right or wrong" "just because it's wrong for you..." "as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else..." Values from the Word include The Ten Commandments, Love your neighbor as you love yourself, Obey your parents, and Speak the truth at all times.
Phillipians 1:10
For I want you always to see clearly the difference between right and worng, and to be inwardly clean, no one being able to criticize you from now until our Lord returns.
Psalm 19:7-10
God's laws are perfect. They protect us, make us wise and give us joy and light. God's laws are pure, eternal, just. They are more desirable than gold. They are sweeter than honey dripping from a honeycomb.
Psalm 119:105
God's Word is a flashlight to light the path ahead of me and keep me from stumbling.
WHAT ARE VALUES GOOD FOR?
They are the building blocks of my life.

What I do, determines how i act, which determines what i am.

Thought for the week:

What values are in my life?

Ok, these are the notes from my church yesterday. They are kind of confusing so ima tell you what they basically mean. Don't follow the advice of what today's society are telling you. Follow what God is telling you. The thought of the week means what am i doing? How do i act that shows others that i am a christian? What rules do i abide by? I want you to think about that and answer honestly to yourself. Does what you do reflect who you are? Thanks for listening. :D
