Xanabel was in love. And it wasn't some tragic love story, or anything like that. It was pure and true and full of happiness. Her and her beloved spent most of their time together, even with the consent of her family. And although she had not yet met any of his dear family, she knew she would soon. In the mean time, she'd been asked to wait here for him. Today they wanted to go exploring together a little, or so she had assumed. She wondered if he wanted to find somewhere for them to be together... like a home of sorts. Her parents had a home... shouldn't they have one too? But still, Xana was still so primitive with many a new thing and had no idea what she should be doing. And so, weary of everyone else, with her head laying gently in her paws, she waited for the kit she loved to come.
Ifrit. Wonderful Ifrit... who meant more to her than anyone and who had saved her and whom she had given her everything. She was excited, as always, to see him again and hoped this feeling would never fade away.

Ifrit was positively giddy to be heading back to the company of his Xanabel, but also a bit apprehensive. It was silly to worry, really, but he couldn't help hoping everything was perfect and Xana would like the cave he'd found. He'd even tried to spruce it up a little, but he wanted Xana to help figure out how to decorate, so it was a bit sparse. Oh... mostly though, he just wanted to be back at her side.
Ifrit nosed the door to the HQ open and made a beeline for the dark-furred beauty, smiling with boyish enthusiasm as he leaned down to nuzzle her affectionately. "Hello beloved~" he murmured happily. "I have a suprise for you today... I hope you'll like it."
A home for them. Just for them, and hopefully their own little family some day. That had been his all-consuming task during what little time he'd spent away from her in recent weeks. To find a place, and make it a bit more comfortable so they could stay there while they decided how to finish it. He'd seek out Valefor after this, so Xanabel could meet her. To Ifrit, ever a guardian at heart, it had simply seemed that finding a place of their own, a safe place, was the more important of the two tasks. He didn't feel it was safe for Xanabel to leave her alone at the HQ for too long...
Enough thinking about that though. This was a happy time. He was with Xanabel, and all the world seemed more glorious for it.

The joy in her heart rose to a new level as he approached her. It really had been too long for her. She much preferred every single moment to be saturated with the constance of his presence. He was simply that special. What else had she in this world but the simple wonders and his love? Naturally though, both were important observations she intended to keep a delicate eye on.
"A suprise?" she crooned joyfully, lifting up as best she could to nuzzle him back. Her own long ears flicked down so she could be just a little closer to them. Teal colored eyes sparkled with anticipation. What could it be? It had to be something dreadfully delightful for him to be so pleased about it. Perhaps he'd found another something special to show her! A cave or something? She did so love things like that. Loved them as much as she loved him.

Simply being near her made Ifrit feel light a feather inside. Her presense was endless bliss and he hated those times he had to be away from her... but once he brought Valefor and maybe some of the others up here to meet her perhaps he wouldn't have to worry about leaving her side again. They could come visit... they would understand why he'd been gone for so long and why he didn't want to leave. He knew they would.
But that was for after today! "A suprise, dear Xana, one I hope you will enjoy as much as I enjoyed finding it." He nuzzled her yet more, not really wanting to break the contact, but finally he moved toward the door with eyes alight and tails swaying happily. "It's a little bit of a walk, but not too far." Adjusting his pace to match hers had become automatic for him. All his excitement was meaningless without her, he certainly wasn't going to leave her behind because of it!
