I think one of the worst things is that items disapear. Like an account is left and no one gets the items... Those items are rare. If you leave them they are gone forever.

Michael Noire Asmodeus the Crow @DLAST: I talked to DRKNRGY and Jakabo at A-kon and asked them about price inflation. They said the casino and fishing games were meant to make gold be less plentiful. The casino and fishing re the secret anti-inflation devices. Don't tell any one cause it's a secret! oops. i must have misplaced that report somewhere.. it is still somewhat funny that a halo goes for the same prcie as a REAL porche 911 convertable. xd my dad used to have one of those, with the huge motor that makes other cars' alarms go off in underground carparks sweatdrop (3 Flat something or other o.O). It cost around 60k AUD 3nodding

I'm with D-Bird's opinion though I also think those who have those items are either keeping them because sentimental value or waiting till they go even higher or the user has just simply left Gaia purely out of boredom, eliminating another rare donation item with the username...
That could play a role, but not a major one

Well, I have an OMG Hat, but I'm scared to wear it. I'm scared to wear all my expensive items. Several of my friends have been hacked for their items and since I've been temporarily banned once I'm scared. I keep everything (including gold) on a mule account.

My theory is that because not many people can afford the '03 items, (ie. older people leaving, newer people constanly joining) that they have been somewhat put off into the shadows as a hopeless case that will take too much effort to reach. So what to do? Turn to the cheaper alternatives- the '04 items. Within price range, tons of these items were hard hitters such as the March, June, and October '04 items. So people chase them rather than the older items.
Typically anyway. I have seen plenty of cases to counteract this theorum. 3nodding
