Yeah, it's not Ouran-ish at all... But I was just wondering if there were any other Mother 3 fans out there.

[Video 1] The game begins with a family of four on a sunny morning - Twin brothers Lucas and Claus, their mother Hinawa and her father Wes, in a very rural, very peaceful area.[Video 2] This is the last day the three will be staying, and Hinawa writes a letter to her husband Flint to tell him they are coming back through the forest. She sends it via carrier pigeon and starts off with her sons. She notices some peculiar shadows on her father's lawn, but disregards it and heads off.[Video 3]

Meanwhile, their home village is in an uproar.[Video 4] The forest has been set ablaze by odd-looking soldiers in pig helmets. Flint is warned by a frantic villager named Leder, and is brought to awareness that his sons and wife have not yet come back to the village... And it's the middle of the night.[Video 5] He leaves to search with the bell-ringing villager who warned him about the fire.

On the way, they encounter the unconscious body of Lumber, one of Flint's very close friends.[Video 6] Leder volunteers to stay behind and get Lumber help, so Flint continues on. He spots Lumber's house, which is also in flames, and hears a boy calling out for him from the top floor. He sees Fuel, the lumberjack's son, panicking in the flaming cabin.[Video 7] Flint breaks down the door and rescues Fuel. He brings him back to his father who is now conscious and recovering outside the forest. The villagers returned to the inn to rest, along with Flint.[Video 8]

With a shock, he remembers his family is still out there and rushes out to search for them yet again. He goes back home first to see if they are already there and waiting for him. He retrieves Boney, the family dog and sees not his family awaiting his return, but a weird pigeon sitting in front of his home. [Video 9] He picks it up to see it carrying a letter from Hinawa. Flint reads it and instantly knows more than ever something isn't right. He takes Boney to the forest again to look for his family. The villagers also take part in helping Flint find them and form search parties.

Boney is eager to go left, and Flint follows. He comes to a steep cliff wall, but snagged on a tree at the very top of the cliff is a piece of red-pink fabric, the exact colour of Hinawa's dress. [Video 10] A nearby man tells him his son Duster could help Flint with getting up the wall. Flint sends Boney to find this Duster man, and the dog bolts off. Boney returns dragging a sleeping, gangly man with him. Duster wakes up and uses a 'secret technique' which enables him to climb the wall by creating a ladder out of large staples thrown into the rock. Flint and Boney climb Duster's ladder behind him and reach the top of the cliff, where Duster agrees to help Flint find his family.

The two men encounter some of the pig-masked soldiers working near some machine. An odd-looking Elk is resting on a mechanical pad. Many of its limbs were replaced with metallic ones. [Video 11] When the soldiers see Duster and Flint, they shock the dead Elk to life and sic it on them. The animal is defeated and the soldiers flee. Flint, Duster and Boney follow the men, but are too late before they fly off in a saucer bearing a pig's snout protruding off the front of it.

As they continue their tireless search, a villager calls Flint and tells him they have found his young sons. [Video 12] They follow the man to a bonfire, where the ten-year-old twin brothers Claus and Lucas shiver in front of a fire, hugging blankets around both of their bodies. When they see Flint, they run straight to him, both hugging their father enthusiastically.

Bronson, another villager, comes running and calling for Flint. He stops and says he has good news and very bad news. He says the good news is he has found a Drago's fang that will make for a fantastic weapon.

The bad news is he found the fang pierced in Hinawa's heart.

His worst nightmares coming true prove too much for him, and Flint breaks down, sinks to the ground and starts to cry, punching the ground multiple times as he does so. Shortly after, a village woman comes to his side in an attempt to console him, but Flint swats her off with a strong swing of his arm. He loses his mind and turns to punch into the fire. He grabs a flaming stick from it and beats the fire into no more than a few scattered tree limbs. The twins watch the beginnings of their father's rampage in muted horror. A farmer approaches Flint and tries to talk to him, but Flint swings the stick and smacks him to the ground. Alarmed, another man approaches to wrestle the stick from him, but also ends up being hit to the ground. Bronson next tries to fight for the stick. Their fight is interrupted when Lumber approaches from behind Flint and knocks him out with a log to the head.[Video 13, mainly just extra]

Flint awakens in a jail cell, where Bronson is the warden of the small village's jailhouse. Claus comes to visit him with a red apple for Flint. After the boy leaves, Flint takes a bite of the apple and finds a nail file hidden discreetly in the fruit. [Video 14] Flint uses it to break the lock on the door when Bronson leaves to manage his shop and escapes. Duster is waiting outside the prison, but decides to leave Flint to visit Hinawa's funeral.

Lucas is at the funeral crying his heart out over his mother's grave, but there is no sign of Claus. [Video 15] After some persuasion, Lucas confesses that he knows where Claus is. He has stolen one of Flint's knives and gone to hunt down the Drago that killed their mother, vowing to kill it himself. This causes him to be the target of a verbal thrashing from Hinawa's father.

Panicked to find his son, Flint searches for items that will help him to find Claus, and get him out of any trouble Flint or his son run into.[Video 16] He gets some gifts from the villagers, and even Bronson gives him the Drago Fang.

Flint goes to consult Alec and he ends up accompanying Flint. They both leave to consult some of Alec's friends, whom he calls 'Magypsies.' [Video 17] The magypsies tell Flint they taught his son PSI powers and let him know where Claus was heading. Flint and Alec head out.

He looks around and eventually finds the Drago, but he's different from the creature is different from the one Lucas and Claus used to play with. [Video 18] Like the Elk, most of his limbs are replaced with metal ones. He fights it and once it's weakened, he prepares to stab it with the very fang that killed Hinawa. He is stopped by the Drago's baby. The baby guards its father vehemently, and Flint decides not to kill the monster.

Claus is ultimately killed in battle. Flint does not recover his body. [Video 19]

There's a look over the beginning of the game D: The rest of the game consists of playing as Lucas with his newly-learned PSI powers. Lucas sets out to pull the Seven Needles, which according to legend will awaken a sleeping dragon and Lucas will get one wish - To rid the world of the oppressive soldiers that set fire to the forest and took his little village over.

The game isn't translated yet, but that's a rundown of what I've gathered. It's for the Game Boy Advance, if anyone was wondering : D

I don't know what was wrong with me when I wrote that, but there are a bunch of things off O_o Yeah, I'll just fix that...

There's a problem with that though. Nintendo seems to hate American Earthbound/Mother fans, and don't seem to be translating Mother 3. There is a fan translation patch in the works for emulated copies, so you could download a pirated copy and use the patch with it when it's done, or you could import it and play with a walkthrough :]
