13. A supersonic aircraft produces a shock wave that describes a 30° cone. What happens to the angle of the cone as the aircraft travels faster?

16. Two notes are sounding, one of which is 369Hz. If a beat frequency of 4Hz is heard, what is the other note's frequency?

22. A 30-V potential difference is applied across a parallel series combination of an 8-ohm and a 3-ohm resistor. What is the current in the 8-ohm resistor?

23. A 60-V potential difference is applied across a parallel combination of a 10-ohm and a 20-ohm resistor. What is the current in the 10-ohm resistor?

Phyiscs Take Home Exam.
And nobody seems to be able to help me.

13. I think nothing happens to it.

16. No idea...

22. What 10 Ohm resistor?

23. 6 Amps, I think.

Azrael Makar
22. What 10 Ohm resistor?

My bad. It was the same question with just numbers changed.

It's asking for the 8 Ohm.

13. Faster speed means that the shock cone's angle decreases.

16. The other note could be either 365 Hz or 373 Hz. (beat freq = difference in freq.)

22. 3.75 amps

23. 6 amps

For 22 and 23, V = IR is THE equation to use. In a parallel combination, both resistors have 30 volts (or 60 volts in #23), thus all you have to do is plug and chug...

To verify that, you can calculate both currents, then check that against the equivalent resistance of the parallel circuit (parallel, Req = 1/(1/R1 + 1/R2)) in the previous equation (basically, the currents though both resistors will equal the current in the entire circuit... o.o)

I'm guessing this is Physics AP? I'm only in Regular Physcis( and although I'm lost[sorta]! Haha. I LOVE it.)

Sorry I can't help but I'll make some "educated" guesses.

13. The angle of the cone gets thiner/smaller due to it stretching as the aircraft goes faster.

16.(Oh we are just learning about sound/frequency) let's see....I don't know. Sorry. I would say either subract the 4Hz or add. sweatdrop

22-23. Sorry! You're physics is too hard for me. You're what we call our AP students the No-none Basics! (Because the AP students know all the high Physics stuff like Thermodynamics, but they don't know about basic formulas like momentum.(Not syaing that you don't know any of that.)

Our school you got to choose Physics or Chemisty. I picked Physics cause I'm good with math.
I thoroughly enjoy it, but I haven't used most of this stuff in a while, so I'm rusty.

Thanks for the help Sibi and Gthb. O;
Woah, I haven't seen you Gthb in a while.

I know very little about that (just saw most of those topics last week), but I'll try to help.
And Google some answers.

13. The angle decreases.

16. *Googles*
fb = | f1 − f2 |
f: frequency
b: beat
So...
fb = 4Hz
f1 = 369Hz
f2 = x
4Hz = 369Hz - x
4Hz + x = 369Hz
x = 369Hz - 4Hz
x = 365Hz

22. 3.75 amps

23. 6 amps

EDIT- Sibeiko beat me to it. xD

13. *picks up something from the floor* 30° like this? wink

16. Why do you want to hear anything other than what I need to whisper in your ear right now, hot stuff.

22. OHM, I just found this twenty in my pocket and it says I got this answer right.

23. 24
