And what are they in memory of?
Why, fetuses, of course, and its causing some controversy, which goes without saying.

Yet another use for the handy-dandy weed popper...not only does it effectively control the dandelion population, but it oh-so-easily removes those stupid a** crosses.

I have to agree, they had every right to protest. So I am a little preturbed at that guy, but I am more perturbed at them making a graveyard. Do you have a funeral & bury every miscarriage too?

It looks like they're made out of the connect-y PVC plastic.
If I went to that university, I would so take them apart and make a house/igloo out of them. or like make light sabers out of them and have drone wars on the lawn OR doing something just as destructive like getting a bunch of people to take 'tastefully' nude photos in the rows of crosses, in broad daylight. 4laugh

Or just buy a bunch of wire hangars and hang them over each cross so instead of symbolizing "aborted babies" it will symbolise those women who died to make abortion legal. Turn their own methods against them.

Some day I'd really like to order thousands of those little crosses and set up a graveyard right next to one of their abortion protests. Then I'd put up a giant banner in NEON GREEN or some other obnoxious eye grabbing color that says "In memory of the 15 MILLION children that starve to death every year."

Wonder which one people would think is more pressing, the aborted fetuses or dying children?

THAT is a GREAT idea.

I would have helped that guy pull them out; that's just messed up.

Agreed that it is messed up, but who are we to infringe on their right to free speech? They followed all the procedures to rightfully have their display, and its not really correct or helpful to take a guerilla approach to opposing their message. A better way would be to use the same space once their done to put some type of pro-choice display that makes an even stronger, more valid point. Thats more likely to illustrate the point then defacing someone else's protest.

Yes indeedy. I'm a big first amendment type of person, so I agree with this 100%.

Personally I believe in freedom of speech but the 'Seek Jesus' thing honestly has nothing to do with abortion and if they should put their name on it, if I were in a pro-choice group in that area I would make my own protest right next to it. They aren't the only ones who have freedom of speech.

In a case a few decades ago,a KKK group in Alabama wanted to host a rally in a Jewish majority neighborhood. Of course, citizens protested and responded with disgust. But, the civil case of whether they should be allowed was taken up by a lawyer, a Jewish lawyer, none the less. He was quoted saying, "Yes, I am extremely against their beliefs, and yes, I believe their march is wrong and vulgar. But it is protected under the first amendment's right to assemble, and taking away their right is contradictory to the Jewish community's right to freedom of religion." Paraphrased a bit, I'm afraid, lol. But get my point? BTW, nobody showed up to the rally in that Jewish community. Worst idea ever, I believe. Anyhow, the right to assemble usually covers things like this, where the group of protesters of marchers set up signs or insignias or indications to their beliefs or theme or point, whatever. But just as they can assemble thanks to the first amendment, opposing students have the right to protest (but not destroy property). Etc,etc. to the point.

One more appeal to emotion with nothing behind it. We had one of those on my campus, and a surprising number of students were angry about it. The group was asked not to make such a display again.

I'm pleased as punch that it was a guy who pulled up the crosses. Male choicers and straight allies make me feel all warm and fluffy inside. heart

I would be very pissed if fees that I paid were used for something like this. If you want to do that, it needs to be on your own dime.

A cool counter-protest would be crosses with blood or wire hangers on them for women who have died from DIY/botched abortions. At least there's something to remember, yeah?
