Well, in my highschool I am a singer in our Chorus, called Production Company. In three weeks we have a big show, an expensive event where many people show up to watch us sing and dance. This year our show is called the Hollywood Canteen, a tribute to the stars and soldiers of WWII. Well, on Monday, we have auditions for the solos and I want a solo, but I’m terrified I’ll embarrass myself infront of the entire ensemble. The song, or more, solos are in a song called I’m Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself A Letter. One solo is short, but is pretty high, a Soprano would have an easier time with it, I’m an Alto myself and the Alto solo is so long. I just recorded myself on my cellphone, and I kinda sucked. Should I go for it? How do I make myself not care what the others think???
I’m so nervous because I wasn’t chosen to record. You see, we record the songs, except solos, before the show and play it as background, so if someone messes up when we’re singing and dancing, nobody will be able to tell. I wasn’t chosen to record, everyone tells me that it doesn’t mean I’m a bad singer, but I’m still anxious.

Go for it. If people bad mouth your singing, I think that they'd be in trouble. Just ignore them and go for it. wink

I say go for it. If you get it, great! If you don't, well....you'll still feel better then if you were stuck always wondering if you could get one of the parts, right? Plus, cell phones and other things besides actual reccording equipment usually don't have the best quality.
On a side note, that's an interesting sig, pinkie.
