Lol, that's how you make mochi. It's kind of like rice paste. They crush the rice just like the bunny is--by pounding it with a little wooden hammer in one of those little wooden bowls. I'm not entirely sure what they do after that, but it's usually formed into little bricks of sticky rice goop. Sort of. It's traditionally eaten in Japan at New Year's and various other holidays.
(My sister had some while she was in Japan. She said she liked it.)
