Jehosaphat Major in English? What're you, gonna write etymology books? Hmm, funny you should ask. As an English major, I have no idea what etymology means... redface I'm more interested in fiction. That's why you can find me on RP threads on Gaia.

Well, you see there Darklegend13, it's a complex story. . . I have no idea why Math. Mark Luke and John are retivlily the same. I do know that they are each disiples' account of what Jesus did.

I think there are differences though. Most people point out that Jesus' geneanology (sp?) is different and that it's a contradiction. But truth is, Luke's version talks about Mary's ancestors and Matthew talks about the family tree on Joseph's side. I don't remember what other differences there are between the two, but I'm sure they repeat for reasons. Possibly just to reinforce the history of Jesus. Two different perspectives on the same incident. If there was nothing in common between people's accounts, then wouldn't that be stranger? Perhaps we'd have fewer Christians in the world today, too, if there were no similarities between the two books.

Well, my wrestleman, I doubt the disciples knew they'd have four accounts. The thing is, each gospel tells it different, plus, each one says a little more about Jesus. I mean, come on, John himself says at the end of John, he doesn't think all the books in the world could fit what all Jesus did. Plus, each tells a different perspective, Matthew was written for Jews, Luke for Gentiles, Mark for something, I forget, and John for everybody. Plus, each portrays Jesus differently, my Bible says John shows His godliness, I think it's Mark shows His humanity, Matthew shows His um, courage or something, and Luke shows, if I ain't wrong, His humility. It's something like that. Trust me, before you can't, there is need for four gospels.

Different perspectives of the same events. They have different experiences in life, so their views will be different. They look for different things.
