So i got a crate amp for christmas, the one I picked out. I fell in love with this amp over the summer when i was playing with one of my old experimental bands.
Specs: BT50 Crate with Built in Chromatic Tuner (very handy for precise tuning) Sub Octave, Versatile Tone shaping, Tube Distortion.
Now dont bash too harshly, I do a lot of subbing for bassists in a lot of bands, and some side work as a hobby, bass is in no way a career, but i enjoy jamming. I find this amp can really blend nicely, or make you stick out if you set it right.
Any one like/dislike crate amps, why or why not?

I ain't got no problem with crate amps, they're just not my personal choice for their sound. But when it comes to your amps, it's your sound and in the end it's got to make you happy. So if you like this amp, then enjoy it and don't worry about what others think.

I'm not a fan personally. They make good guitar stuff, so I assume their bass stuff would be half decent. (though I love fender guitar amps, but dispise their bass amps). I don't really like tube stuff for the bass, I feel like the bass is better with its more modern equipment, yeah that means I'm not a fan of the old ampeg tube amps. Though I'll happilly give Crate the BOD I doubt I will ever be a customer. I really like ashdown stuff personally. (also for the money a kustom 4x10 is probably one of the best speaker cabs I've hurd befor) One question is this a combo amp or a stack?

I have a crate BT15 practice amp and it works well, good range of tones with the 4band EQ and it has lasted 3 years with relatively no problems whatsoever.
