 Zenobia was out and about, poking about the bushes and scrutinizing anything that she found interesting. At the moment she was frozen in the middle of a leafy bush staring intently at a rather beautiful dragonfly perched on a fern frond. Covered in jewel tones, she wondered if it could see her... it was so small and she so big. Wings thrummed as she flared them, experimenting to see if her hypothesis was correct. .... Which it was. Pursing her lips, she wondered just how close she would have to get before this dragonfly spotted her and streak off in a flash of colour.
Slowly, she edged forward step by step... only to have the dragonfly darted off sooner then expected. Expression falling, the Gem plunked her hindquarters on the ground and laughed, "Drat!" Shaking her head, the sunlight glinted off her rich amber colour, making her look like some exotic statue in the midst of a lush bush. Settling her wings along her back, she began her search anew.
Insects were so interesting! They always did unexpected things! Like the dragonfly. Spotting a butterfly lazily flapping by, she again froze, watching it with equal intensity. It really was a pretty butterfly.... Bugs all seemed to have pretty, shiny carapaces. Following it for a few paces, she let it break off and plopped down in the grass.
This was all well and good, but she liked puzzles and riddles and experimenting. And nobody was around to pester into pinging riddles and logic games at.
Perhaps she ought to head ot eh HQ? She'd seen lots of kitsus around there but had always been a little shy of approaching such a group... crowds made her nervous.

 Kemsa glances around as he walks, wondering what he could do with the day. It was quiet, and usually quiet was good but this time it was a bit boring. There wasn't even a bird very close by at the moment. Of course, being as shiny as he was he probably scared them off. Hm, now that was something to think about, why would birds be afraid of shiny things. While he turns to get a look around, something ahead moves and reflects the light in his eyes, catching his attention.
He turns his attention towards whatever had done that, and spots the other Gem. And it was an orange one, like the male he'd met not long ago too, what coincidence. Folding his wings, he walks towards the other, watching what they were doing with some interest as he tries to figure out just what they were watching so intently.

The glint of metal was hard to miss and Zenobia turned to look, curiosity flaring to life once more. What...? Peering in Kemsa's direction, she blinked once, twice, and then grinned. Oh! Another Gem! Wonderful! Maybe they'd take the time to talk to her?
Frank and bold when few were around, the amber kitsusagi rose and walked straight over to Kemsa with the same intense gaze as she'd spared for the bugs. "Hello! Have you figured out how far a dragonfly can see?" Tilting her head to the side, she grinned at him, "They're like a puzzle, don't you think?" Her voice was rich, rising and falling in musical cadence as she spoke, lending a more worldly feel to words that might otherwise be considered childish.
Then she realized she had yet to introduce herself and chuckled lightly, placing a paw on her chest, "I'm Zenobia, by the way. Pleasure to meet you!"

Kemsa pauses, realizing he's been noticed before he got close enough to figure out what the other gem was staring at. He blinks for a moment, staring at them, definitely a 'her' now, when she speaks up. "Dragonflies? How far they can see?" Actually he hadn't given that much thought before because they were so small.
He shakes his head once, before nodding. "My name's Kemsa, but no I haven't bothered to find that out. Why does it matter how far they can see? They don't bother us."

She blinked at him, as though the answer would be plain as day, "Haven't you ever just wondered about anything? Tried to figure something out just because?" Zen laughed and sat before him, grinning. Wasn't that a good enough reason for anything? Just because?
She pursed her lips thoughtfully, however, "Though I do suppose you might be right but where's the fun in that? Hnn?" Another smile. This Kemsa was a curious creature.

Kemsa sits down, watching her still. She was an odd one. "Just because? No, I haven't. If I want to know something then I ask. And if no one knows my answer I leave it along, and ask someone else again later to see if they might know, but I don't have to do something like that. Not.. just because."
He watches Zenobia for a moment, trying to figure out her reasoning behind this. "Though I guess I didn't think about it that way. But I haven't really run into anyone that didn't know the answers to my questions yet, either."

"Oh..." She pouted a little, "I see. You must have knowledgeable friends then. But I think puzzling out the answers on your own is a good thing too." She nodded and watched him, head tilted to one side.
After a moment, she grinned, another question popping into her inquisitive mind, "Why are you out here then? What's the purpose?" If he didn't really do things spur of the moment, then he had to have a reason for being out here... a reason she was most curious to find out. Here someone was, someone she could communicate with and learn from. Why not take the opportunity?

"Knowledgeable friends? No, I just haven't met very many others yet. There's you, a couple others, another orange Gem.. and that's all I can think of right now." He watches her, wondering how long she was going to keep her head at that angle. It had to get uncomfortable after a while.
"Oh, I wanted to get a better feel for the area. I like to explore, it answers questions for me too. If I don't know a place, then I look around until I do know it. What about you? Why were you out here watching dragonflies?"

"Oh... well, I haven't met too many others either." She grinned, "Actually, you're the first. I've seen a bunch of others before but they've always been in a big group..." She trailed off, frowning a little. "So I guess you could say I've seen some?"
Blinking, Zenobia nodded in agreement, "I was just out exploring too. Then I saw a dragonfly and tried to look at it, see how close I could get before it flew off." A shrug as she tossed her head, "Why? Just because. It's a sunny day and warm, so I thought I'd take a walk around."

"Oh, well exploring is good. I still don't understand why watching dragonflies but it's something to do, I guess." He merely shrugs his shoulders a bit, causing his wings to twitch a little with the motion.
"Well since it's something to do, would you like to explore together? It might answer questions faster." Or pose more questions, but he liked those.
