Wow, this was an odd weather. Everything was turning dry and yellow...or falling apart completely. And the air was getting cold enough for a sweater. But that would just look odd. Hmm. Miulani rested on her back, eyes half lidded and ready to fall asleep. Seems everyone went home at this time of year and no one was willing to endure the weather. Tails composed of feathers swept back and forth behind her, the female wimply wasting time with nothing better to do. And where was her dear family now? She could only guess.

Oooh, it had gotten so cold all of a sudden! The air had grown thin and made flying difficult, though the silvery female flapped valiantly to keep herself aloft. It'd be a long way down if she didn't! The forests she normally swooped over had turned brilliant shades of fiery oranges and reds as of late and Tsu-Kitsu cooed her appreciation from high above, delighted at the prospect that the trees could change color. That was when she spotted something very not tree-like, a purple and blue and redish sort of something! Determined to get a better look, the female flared her enormous grey wings and began to head in for a touchdown.
Of course, that meant tripping over her heavy booted feet and sprawling out on her chest in the dirt.
"Ow!" She proclaimed cheerfully, one paw idly shoving up the helm that perched on her head as she made to sit up. "Oooh, hello! So you were the pretty colorful thing all the way up there!" Tsu gasped as frosted eyes settled on the other kitsu's tails and the strange feathers that rippled down its shoulders and back. "Look how pretty you are! Oh, oh, oh, how did you get such pretty feathers?" The female scrambled up and all but bounced over to investigate, remembering enough to be polite and not exactly throw herself onto the stranger. "I'm Tsu-Kitsu!" She announced happily, her tails all aflutter with delight even as she folded her wings. "What's your name?"

Her grey tipped ear grazed against the ground, thinking it had heard other than fallen leaves. But what? Groggy red eyes had to blink, but not due to bright light. Rather, a shifting of grey too fast to be a cloud. Miulani lifted her neck, and thus curled up and forward into sitting. What was that? Headtilt.
She gasped silently when the form turned out to be a kitsu, that skidded harshly across the dirt. The female jumped to her feet and backed away from the sudden collision. And before she could even consider checking the others health, the winged kitsu was up on her paws, greeting her. Purple ears layed back sheepishly, Miulani mirroring the others footfalls, just to keep her back clear from this stranger. "Umm, they're from my mother." Her own pretty tails curled in under her legs. "And I'm Miulani. Tsu-Kitsu....are you alright?"

Her mother? "Ohh, then she must be very pretty too!" Tsu-Kitsu beamed, nodding smartly even as she clumsily made to settle herself on her haunches. Come to think of it, she didn't even remember her own mother! That surely wasn't a good thing...Well, no reason to dwell on it long! "Miulani." She repeated, feeling her tongue threaten to twist itself into knots at the fluidness of it all. "That's also pretty! And you can just call me Tsu!" Another beam, followed by a confused pause at the inquiry. "Huh...? Oh! Oh, oh yes, I'm fine! That happens a lot, so don't worry! I'm not so good at the landing part, but I do love to fly!"
The silvery female looked pleased to have found someone new to talk to, her frosted eyes trailing merrily over the colorful Miulani once more. "You almost look like you could fly yourself! You have the feathers for it, just no wings!"

The wingless kitsu nodded bashfully to the compliments, seating herself some feet from Tsu. "Yeah...my mom does have some nice ear feathers." Just like her brother, while her and her sister had none. Oh well, nothing at all to cry over. Red eyes blinked kindly as the other pronounced her name. It was sorta fluid, wasn't it. The girl smiled faintly to the idea, tails lifting with a less nervous wag. "Hee, thank you."
Her head tilted with red and blue hair, checking over Tsu with almost doubt. Well...yes, flying was fine. But knowing how to get done also helped, right? "You must have thick skin then...if it doesn't hurt." She flushed abit at her aloud thoughts. Did it come out sounding rude? But eyes widened in delight to the idea of flying herself. "That would be amazing. My dad has wings though...just not us kids." But it still made them have avian...right?

"Ear feathers?" Why, if she flapped her ears, did that mean she could fly? Tsu-Kitsu decided it was a silly question and kept it to herself, though her long ears twitched almost experimentally. Her frozen gaze quickly darted to the colorful plumes that twitched in a wag, her own steely tails wagging back happily in response and stirring up clouds of dust. "You're welcome!" She chirped. The mention of thick skin made her eyes widen a little before the female tittered, pushing up her helmet without much thought. "I guess I do!" Tsu said cheerfully, her tails thumping a little against the ground. "That's better than getting hurt all the time, I suppose!"
Her eyes widened again, a soft 'ooh!' escaping from her as she gave a wiggle. "Your dad? Well, that explains the feathers then! And ohh, I see...Kids? You have a brother or a sister?" Tsu looked delighted, bouncing up to her feet. "Really? I don't have any siblings! That must be nice to have a family!" You'd have someone to talk to all the time!

Miulani nodded openly. "Yep, a spread of long feathers grown right along the back of the ears." Brow raised in amusement as Tsu flopped her own ears in testing. Oh good, so the skin comment wasn't taken oddly. "That is true, no getting hurt is a good thing." The young girl eyed the clothing though. Was that a result of poor landings totaled? She wouldn't ask, that would certainly be rude.
A smile lifted her sandy muzzle. "Yep yep! Dad has grey feathers, and my mom has these feathers." She pointed to her own tails with their three different hues. "So me and my....half-brother have these types, and my sister has the grey and red feathers." Her sister really was just like daddy. Ears perked to Tsun. "Oh, you don't have any relatives?" That was...odd? Was it?

...Ear feathers! Tsu was delighted with the thought, and secretly wondered that if, assuming she was careful, she could line her ears with the feathers from her wings. Oh, they'd fall out of course, but they'd look very pretty while they lasted! "Getting hurt doesn't last that long though!" She chirped. "Mr. Leechy used to bite me all the time!" Of course, the thought of her little leech-friend made her ears wilt a little, remembering how she'd left him in the forest...What was it that Albel had said? Friends shouldn't hurt you, or something like that! At least, that was what she'd gathered from that little experience.
"Ooohh..." The female said in a hushed tone, nodding to show she understood. "I'll have to meet your family some day! So you're all sorta like birdies, with so many feathers!" Did that make her like a birdy, too? Well, it must be--she could fly like one! "Huh? Oh, no, none that I remember!" The girl giggled, her tails waving like plumes. "It makes it very lonely sometimes, but as long as I have friends, I don't mind!"
