Damien sat behind his desk, gesturing to a chair across from him. "Sit," he commanded.
He interlaced his fingers, resting his elbows on the desk. "Boy, what is your name?"

He nodded. "Since you cannot apparently speak on your own, I'll forgive the minor annoyance of that spirit. But on to business: You have, however unintentionally, stumbled upon an Organization that would much rather prefer to be kept secret. Ordinarily, you would be dead this very instant, but because I see potential in your capabilities, I offer you a choice. You will work for me, operating under the rule of my Covenant. You will be given room and board, food, and limited protection from the other more dangerous members of this Organization In addition, I will teach you to hone your gifts with the Light. The catch being that you will have to earn your keep. While I am training you, know that I do not tolerate failure, and I will not be an easy taskmaster in the slightest. In addition, once your training is complete, you will be expected to go on missions like everyone else. These missions are potentially life-threatening and certainly dangerous, and you must accept the fact that it is entirely plausible thaat you will die."
He smirked. "Of course, if you feel you are not up to it, the alternative is being sent back down to the torture chambers. It's my understanding that Noelani has been bestowed with a fascinating new toy she is dying to try out..."

He smirked. "Ah yes. But first..." He pulled a scroll out of his desk, unrolling it and presenting it to Adrian along with a small knife and a metal object that looked like a pen.
At the bottom were several signatures, a couple crossed out.
"We need to come to an agreement. Sign your full name, in your own blood."

He stood, taking two fingers and dipping them in the cut on Adrian's chest, then turned him, pressing them to the skin on the back of his right shoulder. Adrian would feel a searing pain as the kanji tattoo burned itself into his skin. He would find that his wounds were healed, and was now wearing the cloak, without the mask. "Correction: you are in training to become one of us. You will eventually learn which of the members are better to stay away from."
He looked out the window, smiling slightly; dark clouds were gathering on the horizon, an occasional flash of lightning splitting the blackness. "In the meantime, you are to be presented to the Covenant." He grabbed Adrian's shoulder, teleporting to the Hall of Nine.
