I hate it when newscasters don't know what the hell they're talking about.
It just irritates me to no end...People are watching these things and accepting their words as truth! They should know at least a semblance of the information they're supposed to discuss.

First offense: You cannot compare a place and an action (the school district, wearing uniforms) to a person (Hitler). If she found a reason to ask that question, she should've, and could have, restated it easily. She could have asked "Are you meaning to compare the school district and wearing uniforms to Nazi Germany and the brown shirts (or the Hitler Youth's uniforms)?"

I applaude the mother's response to the above question, I loved her insinuation that the newscaster is not thinking intelligently. lol

I don't like the woman bringing up the Holocaust. Yes, the Hitler Youth were around at the same time, but hell, the Pope was part of the Hitler Youth! Does that mean he's evil? ...Exactly. The Hitler Youth didn't kill Jews, woman, know your facts.

Then, she brings up (interrupting the lawyer, I might add) that it upset a lot of people. It OBVIOUSLY didn't upset that many people. If it did, the judge would've ruled that it interfered with the learning atmosphere of the school. Also, there may have been an uprising much like the Jena 6 event.

A swastika is not a body of people, or a government. It is a symbol. Also, it is not a symbol used purely by the Nazis. Thusly, it cannot be compared to a school district. A more accurate comparison would've been "You really think you can compare the one school district to Nazi Germany?" Then the question could've been answered. Also, this is redundant as she JUST asked that question (again, incorrectly) a few minutes beforehand.

Also, it astounds me that she did not understand the woman's objection to the uniforms. Her objection was obviously not related to exactly what the symbol was. Her objection was the fact that they could put the symbol there at all! Sure, today it's the symbol of the school, but who knows, the KKK could get control of it and force white children to wear a burning cross, and the black children to wear a dramatized African American face

Erica Hill: You are officially an idiot and I will never respect you, or your opinion.
