Gosh, our vibraphone is crud...
We had to replace a missing part (which we have on order) with a wad of a drill chart. XD

Yay marimba! And I feel your pain about the vibes. I switched from the vibes second week of band camp this year. The pedal broke every week and it was a pain. It's a relief to not worry about that anymore.

Yeah, its better now that we have new frames for marching band so they can withstand the movement to the field.

Although the pedal is looser than I'd like it...>.>
But I digress.

Our marimba is in pretty good condition, actually. Then, this is its first season outside.

Yeah, our marimba is only 3 years old give or take. So I'm responsible to make sure it looks as new as possible. I have to make sure it doen't get wet. You should have seen how mad I was when someone put their water bottle on it yesterday and left a big puddle. stressed

Oh, lord.

They always leave cups of water on the pit cart...>.>
Which, when they tip, causes a part that got wet to rust more.

I only let them put drill and flip folders up here now...although now they always forget the drill and Lele had to give Daniel his folder back cause he almost forgot it.

i hate it when bandos or other people put random
crap on vibes/ marimbas because that really destroys
the instruments and makes them look like crap ):

All of our instruments are crap except our new xylophone (so pretty!). My first outdoor season (06-07) I played chimes, but because they were so crappy they kept breaking and I'd earned the nickname "Chimebreaker". The tie straps on our crappiest vibe (which I play because I'm too short for the other one >.<) had some tie straps so thee keys wouldn't clank together, but they broke and our instructor says he's gonna fix them but never does. Not to mention every other week we have to re-string both of our marimbas.

The marimba is my friend's baby, lol she broke it the other day, it was so funny, she was screaming "I killed my baby!" until the BD fixed it.

heh...you should see our marimba...I had to push it down a hill to the football field once, the crappy leg it had fell off, the marimba fell, the tubes fell of and it kept going down the hill and almost got hit by a car and I showed up 20 minutes late to practice...

Man, all these stories remind me of giants stadium of the 07-08 year. It was 30 degrees outside, wind , rain, hail...etc. and during the show, I couldnt even feel my hands gonk . Thankfully, my frostbite paid off when we were 4/10ths of a point from becoming the USSBA grand champions(i still hate who beat us though evil ) and ironically i got frost bite again at our very last compotition at baltimore ravens stadium.....JOIN THE PIT!!!1! ninja domokun

errgh. all of our stuff is pretty nice. a colledge is borrowing our vibes, and i have zero idea what condition there in. our maramba is out of tune. our bells are slightly off. and one of our xylo's are mildly outta tune, but the other is WAY OFF. but yea. were getting a bunch of noobs this year [me included biggrin ] so there gonna break something, I'm sure.
