An Unexpected Helping Hand

Ogre
It was the end of a rainy morning, and Dru was out looking for breakfast. Crow had left before he'd awoken.. so he guessed his mentor was already out hunting for himself. Sighing heavily, since he hated to be alone, Dru began the slow stalk around the stream. If all else failed he could catch some fish to eat.

Ary Keeyara
(( xD Always after the rain...poor Starla. ))

Shuttering, Starla stumbled along through the mucky woods, slipping and sliding on the newly made mud from the rain. It was a wonderous feat that she was standing at all, seeing as her body was shaking about so horribly. Her ears were flat on her head, pressing against her skull, as her violet eyes picked out the wetest spots around her and tried to work away from them. Desperately she tried to find somewhere dry, only to come upon a stream instead. She let out a sharp breath through clentched teeth, almost falling backward in a attempt to get away from the sudden appearance of the small stream.

Ogre
Dru's ears lifted at the sudden sound, glancing towards its source. Maybe it was Crow, coming to help him hunt after all...?

"... Crow?" He dropped his nose low to the ground, sniffing as he slowly made his way towards the sound. His head snapped up, ears standing straight. "..You're not Crow..."

XD..

Ary Keeyara
Starla snapped her head around to see Dru, jumping backward. Her feet slid in the mud and she slipped about, trying to regain her balance and look threatening at the same time. However, her main worry was NOT falling. She did not want to get wet...she couldn't get wet again today. Finally standing still, her limbs should slightly with anxiety. She grimaced at the other wolf, not up to growling at the moment.

Ogre
Dru blinked, watching the 'dance' of the water avoider with slight amusement.

"...Hi." He took a few more steps and sat, tail curling around his feet. He tilted his head, one ear flopping forward. "Are you.. okay?" She looked awefully funny like that, was the mud that bad?

Ary Keeyara
Starla glared at him. Did it LOOK like she was ok?! With all this water everywhere! She shook her head, taking a careful step back, making sure her paw wouldn't slip. What was with this young male...what was with EVERYONE? Everyone always harassed her about the water...it was their own fault they weren't aware how dangerous it was!

Ogre
Dru winced at the glare he received, ears flicking backwards slightly. "I suppose that was a no.. hm??" He stood up, creeping closer. "Do you need some help getting out of the muddy places?"

Ary Keeyara

Starla watched him suspiciously. Yet, she wanted to jump. Slowly she asked, "Y-you know somewhere dry?" Her voice quivered pleadingly, though she tried to keep it sharp and uncaring. But oh how she wanted to be away from the water. She'd do anything to get away.

Ogre
Dru nodded, offering a wolf-grin. He looked around the bank where they stood, plotting a course through the dry patches on the ground.

"Stay put," He trotted through the mud into the grassy area, grabbing a mouth full of dried out patches and returned to Starla. He then laid them in a path beside her- returning to the grass to get more until there was a dry bridge created. "... there. Follow me."

Ary Keeyara

Starla watched him go off with mistrust, only to see him return with grass. Wha the...? What was he doing? She stared at him as he began to lay out the dray grasses in a path and finally finished so that she could walk along them without getting wet. At this point her eyes were wide with awe, her stiff attitude momentarily gone. She walked slowly along the path, testing it out and then almost smiled as she followed him, feeling as if a weight had been lifted off her back.

Ogre
[ *adds Dru's adult pic up* XDD.. i didnt know he grew ;D ]

Dru navigated through the grass, making sure there were no wet area's where water might have gathered after the storm. He took them to the higher ground, where the rocks began to collect. This was near his mentors den, so it was all dry except a few puddles were water collected for drinking here and there in the rocks.

"I think this is a good place," Dru stopped and turned around. "It's pretty dry all around here. Is this better?"

Ary Keeyara
(( =O He's smexy. *throw's in Starla's true pic* xD ))
Starla followed him, feeling more at ease then she had in days. For some reason it had been very wet this week, causing her nerves to be shot almost 24-7. Why this wolf was going to such great lengths to help her, she didn't know, but she was relieved he did. Seeing the rocks, she bounded upon onto them and flopped down onto a dry stop, letting out a long breath she didn't know she had been holding. Lifting her head slightly, she turned her violet gaze onto the male, smiling just a little, "Y-yes...oh..yes...thank you..."

Ogre
[ XD!! ty, she's pretteh! so many stripes 0.0 ]

Dru walked over to join her, sitting a few feet to offer her a comfortable amount of space. The rocks were warm from the sun soaking into them, so he flopped down as well.

"No problem, you seemed really unhappy back there." He rolled a little, peering at her from where he was laying. "You don't like to be wet or muddy, hmm?"

Ary Keeyara
Starla's ears fell back in slight irratation at the question. Wasn't it obvious she disliked it? She let out a breath through her nose, trying her best to be civil and nice...especially since he had helped her out, "Yes...I don't like water." She hoped she wouldn't be questioned further, but that was probably not going to happen. Everyone asked her in detail about it...why should he be different?

Ogre
Dru rolled onto his back, tucking his feet against his tummy. "It doesn't bother me that much- I met my first friend at the stream." Seeing how she was getting irritated again, Dru changed the subject. "Have you ever seen the white rain? It's not much like rain really.. more like.. the clouds falling.. and it's cold."

Ary Keeyara
White rain? Starla wrinkled her nose slightly in thought. Did he mean snow? One of her white ears twitched slightly in rememberance. "Snow...? When I was little...yeah..." She thought of when she had first seen it, "...I remember Ieshia raced out and fell in a snow drift and Luka tried to eat an icikle..." She paused, her heart aching at the memories and she stopped, especially since thinking of both her siblings hurt so.

Ogre
".. you look so sad," Dru rolled back over, coming to his feet. So.. rain and snow were not good. He lifted his muzzle, looking up at the sky that had cleared. "It's turning out to be a warm day..." >_>;;

Ary Keeyara
(( xD Poor Dru...Starla's life kinda...IS gloomy. ))

Sad was she? Starla had never really thought of it in such a simple way. She knew her life was essentually suffering. It had been, ever since that one storm years ago. However, began it had become so...well normal for her she had never concidered it as such. She rolled over slightly to look at him, "Yeah...well...I always am..." She followed his gaze to the sky, "Warmth will be good...it'll dry up the water."

Ogre
[ XD!! ]

Dru wandered over, dropping his nose to her level where she was laying. "You can't always be sad.. don't you have hope? Friends? Others who make you laugh or play?" His tail curled back around him as he sat infront of her, watching.

"Whenever I'm sad, Crow always tells me stories."

Ary Keeyara
Starla frowned, rolling over and pushing herself up into a sitting position, head bent over and back facing him. She refused to meet his gaze. Her heart burned, feeling as though she was a alien here, for she had none of what he spoke of. It was all gone. "I don't have anyone...they're all gone. And what hope I have you would not like," her voice fading almost into a growl at the last sentence she spoke. It was not directed at him, but at the thought of her twisted hope, her twisted yet pulsing desire to kill Ieshia...to make her suffer as she felt she had for so long.

Ogre
"I'll be your friend.. you can have me?" He peered around her, ears lifting. "Everyone needs friends.. you can have Crow too, he's nice. It doesn't rain here often, and when it does.. it doesn't puddle around the rocks. It's always dry here first.. " ^__^?

Ary Keeyara
(( Awwww. whee He's so cute! <3 ))

Somehow Starla smiled at his offer. He was beginning to remind her of Luka...oh how she missed him. She smile quickly turned bitter however. What would Luka have said if he had seen her now? He would have hated what I've become, she thought. She gave him a cold, sorrowful look, "You wouldn't make that offer if you really knew what I wish to do."

Ogre
He shrugged. "We all have our personal stuff, my offer stands. No one deserves to be sad." Dru shook his head, rubbing a paw across his nose for a second.. he felt a grasshopper or something. XD;;

"Oh! My name is Badru... what's your name?"

Ary Keeyara
He wouldn't say that if he knew she wished to murdur her last living family member. But perhaps it was best they keep it that way. He had no need to know of it...and least...not as of now. She turned her head slightly to look at him, her ears slowly pulling forward, "I'm...Starla."

Ogre
"Hi! That's a nice name," Dru crept over and sat beside her with a little sniff. "We have two other girls in our family you can meet too.. and Crow! You'll like him, he's nice. He taught me to hunt and all kinds of stuff..." /babble

Dru shut his mouth with a grin. "... I talk alot." o_o;

Ary Keeyara
A smile tugged at her maw as she talked. She couldn't help but envy and admire his sense of feeling...how he seemed to be so happy about such small things. Somehow she felt more relaxed then she had been in a long time, just listening to what he had to say. The absense of hate and grief in him made her forget her own for the moment, "It's alright...perhaps I simply do not talk enough."

Ogre
"Well, talk!" His tail gave a swishwag, ears flicking back and forth. "What sorts of things do you like? Bugs? Some bugs are very good to eat.. and some taste horrible. I can tell you which is which!" ;D

Ary Keeyara
Starla wrinkled her nose, a little grossed out by the notion of eating bugs, "You think they taste good...?" She shook her head. Well that was strange. She shifted her paws slightly, not exactly sure what to say in response to his question, "I don't...really like anything...not really...I guess you could say I like it when it's dry..."

Ogre
"When I was little, I couldnt catch anything else." He sniffed the ground a bit. "I was alone for a long time, and bugs were easy to get .. so I ate what I could catch. Some don't taste that bad, really." He glanced at her again, "What about when there's a breeze? Or chasing butterflies? Or.. naps in the sunny spots? Firebugs?" XD

Ary Keeyara
"I haven't...well really had time for any of that," Starla said simply. It was true. Ever since that one storm she had spent every waking moment she had staying alive and searching for her family. Now that changed only slightly, since she had found what remained of it and not liked what she saw.
