Well, this is my first post/ thread here n___n;;

I'd like to say hi to Nikolita and everyone else who frequents here often.

Call me Mike if you feel to address me more personally. I'm open to almost all questions that are coherent and needed in order to answer mine 3nodding

While I'm introducing myself, I also joined here to help others. I don't know if this significant to mention, but I've read many books and edited a lot of CBT on wikipedia (CBT = Cognitive Behavior Therapy) and I love helping those with social problems and such whee Maybe I can be of service 4laugh

Anyways, here's my general question, I didn't bother looking a the other threads, and I apologize if this is a repeat.

Basically, my problem is that since I started growing a bit of facial hair, I'd shave it right off, no hesitation. Well, after many years of contemplation, I finally wanted to look 18, rather than the 16-year old some assumed I was. So I finally let grow out... maybe too much >__< I was hoping for that 5 o'clock shadow look, but I can't seem to determine what the length of facial hair it should be. My second problem is that, I don't know how to shave with cream or anything sweatdrop Nor, how to "trim" the hair so it doesn't get too long D;

Um... just to give a bit of light on my appearence: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v713/Xeroxer/P6300007.jpg
When I was 17, but some assumed I was younger ._____.;;

http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v713/Xeroxer/?action=view¤t=PA260004.jpg
A little before I was 18. As you can tell, I look a lot older.

Well, my hair grew a lot longer than that (facial) and I'd like to keep it more or less like that facial I have in my previous picture.

Erm... I suppose that's it sweatdrop I just need a bit of information, help maybe? I don't know >_<

P.s o.o I've always wondered if you're suppose to shave your pubic area? Some girls in my class whined about how their boyfriends never shaved down there and how'd they like them too. I've never heard of it, but I'm not exactly sex or social-savvy sweatdrop

P.s.s While I am being extremely open right now D; I also shave "other" areas, but those areas always get bumpy and itchy or something >____<;; Even my neck and the back get this insane rich and go red. Am I irritating the skin? How do I avoid this while still shaving there?

Imma skip the facial hair questions, since I have no experience with that. wink

You don't have to. I'll trim every so often, but I am not entirely eager to take a razor to my privates. >.< I figure evolution put that hair there for a reason. Similarly, I don't expect my boyfriend to do so.

Maintenance is never a bad thing, but I've never been a fan of out-and-out shaving.

You're using something besides a razor, right? If not, that could be the answer to your question right there. They don't call it "razor burn" for nothin'. xp

Obviously, it helps to use moisturizing products after you're done shaving, no matter where. You also have to realize that you might not be shaving areas that are quite as hairy, which means the razor is probably catching more skin than hair. That could easily cause a higher likeliness of razor burn.

Aw, poo. You seemed just the type to explain about facial hair rofl heart (I'm joshing, please don't eat me >___________________< <33 )

Personally, I can't see myself actually touching that areas, but I don't want to repel woman when they get close (I have a few other insecurities, but that's another time when I feel more acquainted here) 3nodding

Uh... no D;

I tried an electric shaver, but that was mighty damn painful x____x.
and then I tried a razor which doesn't hurt, but still gets that bad irritating in the end!

Mositurizer -> Vaseline? When do I use it? Right after?
and honestly, it has enough hair (not to be precise or detailed, but it's to say that I know what I am touching)

If a woman is repelled by the hair around your ding dong, let her go. xp Ideally, you want a relationship where things like that are a suggestion at best - not a requirement. If she's that shallow about sex, then you really haven't found the right partner.

Like I said, I've never cared. There are so many more important things in the world.

*sigh* Guys. rolleyes wink

No, not Vaseline. Literally, moisturizer. Jergens makes it, Aveeno, Dove, and pretty much any company that carries beauty care products. Aloe really helps with minimizing a burning sensation.

This might be a good place for you to start, though it focuses a little more on facial care:

But, yeah. After you're done shaving, dry off and moisturize the area. That should help reduce the irritation. 3nodding

And if I repel even myself due to lack of tolerance and insecurity?
Bah, I guess it's best to take my chances and just leave it, right n_n

domokun WOMEN
Ahem xDD~

What's Vaseline then?

Reduce or eliminate? Because sometimes it gets really bad and leaves these bumps and scratch/ red marks (Due to my unsatisfying scratching)

As far as shaving pubic hair, that's up to you. Some people like it trimmed, some like all the hair removed, others like it all natural.

Personally, I like it all natural. In my opinion, body hair is a sign that we're mature adults, ready for sexual activity. So a lack of pubic hair is a huge turn off for me. I never remove body hair, neither have any of my partners.

As for hair on your face, well I don't have much experience with that. xp You can try trimming facial hair instead of shaving. You can also try a moisturizer like Pi suggested. Vaseline is pretty greasy, so you might not want to put that on your face. That could make you breakout. Look for something that was meant specifically for your face.

Yeah about the shaving cream just apply a fairly big not alot but enough to make cover your face and make sure the layer isnt to thin or thick amount to your face and shave like you normally do I use shaving cream all the time it helps with the razor burn as for me I keep usually keep my junk trimmed sometimes i shave completely when I feel like it or I keep it natural

My boyfriend doesn't shave below the belt because he said he's done it in the past, and when the hair grew back it was SUPER itchy. So he'd be scratching for like two weeks. sweatdrop

I shave my upper lip (my mom has a mustache, so I know I have to potential to have one too), and my legs and between my legs. I have always shaved for guys, and I don't like the "au naturel" look on me - but that's just me.

For facial hair, you chould try a trimmer. There are some razors (I can't remember the brand name atm whee ) that come with a built-in trimmer part or attachment, or you can buy one seperately.

It all boils down to personal preference really. 3nodding And hello to you too!

Edit: This is actually an old thread, the OP isn't in the guild anymore. sweatdrop There's also a sticky we should be using: http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=2242779
