Bryce replied happily, refreshed at the king's formal tone. "Of course your highness, how can my party and I be of assisstance?" Gorum then grunted rather audibly. "Hey I agreed to nothin' blondie!"

King Cornix did frown at Gorum's outburst, but decided he'd rather deal with Bryce. "We have just finished fighting a terrible battle against the Bleck menace," he informed the Paladin. "We were victorious, but only at the cost of tremendous losses. If the creatures come again, we may find ourselves unable to survive here. The Avians, as always, have not been forthcoming in support... we are on the point of sending an emissary to Morstar to request assistance from the Black Elves, even though we know they will almost certainly demand a high price for their aid." A troubled frown creased the king's face, but then his expression lightened somewhat. "Still, perhaps now that you adventurers have arrived, it will not be necessary for us to wager our nation's future on the whims of such a people! Can you help us? The Bleck creatures have recently been coming forth with alarming and, even more worryingly, increasing frequency from yonder Mountains of Grimmite. We suspect they may have a stronghold there, but now that we finally have the opportunity to investigate further, we find we have not the men. But with you fine fellows, perhaps an expedition can be launched after all!"

"Oh Incendus' flaming arse, I did not sign up for this..." Throngar groaned. Taking on a demonic menace was one thing. Getting bossed about by every local leader and his dog they happened to come across was quite another. Of course, the King of Ataya wasn't exactly every local leader and his dog, but this was just the start. They were 'adventurers' now; this sort of thing set precedents. And Throngar didn't like it one bit. No doubt about it, the moment they were done knocking the walls down at this alleged Bleck fortress, he and Gorum were going to have to split from Bryce and his Band of Merry Men. They could be royal bitches without the dwarven brothers.

"I AGREE WITH THE CLICHÉ" blasted Gorum's unique drunken voice. "I ain't doin' the whim o' no self-lovin' wrinkle ol' bag of bones that'll prob'ly drop dead before we get back!"

Lilium had wondered why her mouth stopped bleeding, but then realized that when facing arrest it is not a good thing to be pondering. Then, she did something she would probably regret later.. Speaking.
"Your Majesty, I sincerely appologize for their fool behaviour, but as the text above me states; we're 'adventurers' and many of this party simply don't know how to act around royalty such as yourself. And Gorum simply doesnt know how to put down a keg. Please take this into consideration before you.. eh, execute them, or arrest us? Both us, and yourself have agreed that the Blecks are our main concern right now; we need all the help we can get, as do you."

She bit her lip slightly, and backed up wondering, "Oh dear Aether, what have I done?"

"FLAPJACKS." Yelled the drunken Gorum, taking a mighty swing with his right fist at the gut of one of the king's guards.

Gorum had picked up his axe and gone to work on the guards. Not killing them of course, they weren't his enemies. Instead he was knocking them with the flat end of his axeblade and the blunt end of the staff attached to it. Either breaking bones or rendering them unconcious. After he was done making gruesome noises with the guards' bones, he merely staggered around hiccupping "Next."

Kal walked back in seeing the carnage. He sighed and sat down. "I heard I did something. All I did was refuse to smoke in the king's presences...but I can see things got outta hand?" he sat down and pulled a thing of jerky out of his bag. "He really is good at fighting...."

Lilium backed up a little more before sitting down, taking out some sunflower seeds, and began to watch the carnage. "Bwah, I'm thirsty now.."
