Emma listened to the exchange from afar, putting her pointy ears to good use.
Eavesdropping was a terrible habit, one that she couldn't manage to shake.

Scribbler scanned the tavern for a suitable place, Skutz's almost tangible fear hitting her like a brick wall. Another wave of guilt...the voice in her head almost cheered. Told you you shouldn't have done that, now she's afraid, it cackled. She shoved it out of the way and kept scanning. I didn't mean to hurt her, dammit.
There, an unoccupied booth, close enough to the others but far enough away to be out of human earshot. She pointed to it, trying for a reassuring smile and failing miserably. "How about there?"
[craaap. Sorry if I suddenly disappear, it's getting uber-late here...]

"It...it's fine," Skutz stammered not turning to Naz, "damn it, what's wrong with me, I've never been this afraid before." She kept beating herself up inside for her own weakness as she walked to the predestined booth pointed out by Naz and sat down. Skutz looked at Naz in the eyes and saw something fierce and nasty, she gulped down her fear to stop her shaking. "Feh, this is pathetic, here lemme help since you can't help yourself." Bastion ceased all fear effects affecting Skutz's body, "I owe you one Bastion." "Yes you do, now just kiss and make up before I puke."

Regal returned with a Bloody Mary for Grey, the Zany Adventurer and Skutz's drink as well. Her cheeks were much more rosy than before as an effect of the wine, she presumed. "Sorry, that took forever." She spoke as if she were exhausted. Looking around it appeared as if Skutz and Nazynri were deep in conversation in a secluded booth in the back.

Question Grey downed the Bloody Mary in a single gulp, as if it was the very fuel he lived on. "Sorry... I don't drink often." He closed his eyes, waiting for the inevitable. Nothing. "Huh, I guess I'm still used to going into a mini coma every time alcohol enters my system. Long story, don't ask."

Once they were both seated, Scribbler was at a loss. She gulped hastily...and let loose.
"I'mreallysorryaboutthebattle---" Wince. Restart. This time, slower so it didn't sound like gibberish.
"Skutz...I'm really sorry about the battle...I bit you, I shouldn't have, stole your blood...and hurt you. You don't deserve that, and I understand if you hate me and want revenge now...but I want you to know that I'm sincerely sorry." And that she fully deserved anything Skutz wanted to throw at her, be it kicks or otherwise. Gah, that sounded horribly lame, the voice taunted.
"I won't ask for your forgiveness, because that was a horrible thing to do to anyone, especially to a friend."
She watched Skutz for a reaction, fully expecting the girl to begin screaming at her, or worse, to walk out without a word.

Regal shrugged, "Sometimes it takes a minute for the alcohol to transfer to your system, doesn't it?" She certainly felt the circulation of the wine, and was already at work on the second glass.

"Well, it used to be that my mind had programming... I'm not a computer, more like brainwashing... to shut down my mind when alcohol entered my system. Then a much more serious, much more experienced personality named Exodus would take control of my body for whatever purposes. I guess with him gone, I'm not quite sure how alcohol affects me." He sighed. "At least I'm not singing, dancing, or doing something else that would make a fool of myself."

Emma sighed and noticed her tea had gone cold.
She placed her hands on the cup and concentrated for a moment. A plume of steam issued from the mug, and the enchantress stared into it out of sheer boredom.

"..." Skutz took in of what Nazynri had just said. She began to speak but held back and just stood up and got near Naz, picked her up to her feet and hugged her.
"It's ok Naz," Skutz said, "I forgive you. You just startled the hell out of me." Skutz ended the embrace and blushed a little, "this would be totally different if I still had my old body, but enough nonsense, I'm not going to end an awesome relationship with an awesome person, you're still my friend through thick and thin."
"Bleh, all this love makes me nauseated..."
"Just," she began again, "give me a little forewarning before you do something of the sort again, otherwise I might have to kick you."
Skutz looked into Naz's eyes and smiled.

"Oh I see." She pondered having a programming and how oppressive that must feel. "You do seem adventurous, Doctor. Very intriguing, but the fact that you are still human honestly surprises me. How many close calls have you had?" She sipped her drink, stopping mid gulp and slamming her glass down quickly. "I'm so very rude, would you like something else to drink then?" Her apologetic tone was quite genuine, and she mused around in her mind for something he might like instead. Thinking all the while, Not yet, anyway.

Blink. ...Did she hear that right? Skutz didn't hate her for it? She returned the hug numbly, amazed Skutz would forgive the bite so readily. "Ah-" Thank you, she wanted to say. It didn't really come out, she was fighting the urge to sniffle.
"I-I'll try not to do it again, don't worry about that..."

"Well, that's just the thing. You see, I have the ability to physically and genetically adapt when my body sees fit. And considering the fact that I can't remember the events of my life beyond a few years ago, I could very well be an alien life form. Or at least a government experiment." He shrugged. "I'm very apathetic when it comes to my past." Grey smirked. "Nah, I'm good. I think I'll try and keep from having a hangover tomorrow."

"Hee," Skutz gleed, "just do what you can. It wasn't the first time I was bitten by a vampire, nor it is the last." She rubbed her neck from past experiences. "I must retire now," Skutz said, "my fatigue has caught up with me, so I bid every a good evening." She turned to the door and looked at Naz and said slyly with a wink, "I did enjoy the bite though, I might have to return the favor..." She walked outside of the tavern and past the hills.

Regal's red eyes were wide as she absorbed what he was saying to her. Adaptability. And just when she thought being a vampire was the best there could possibly be. "Wow, that's amazing." she said, truly impressed before adding hastily, "But I don't blame you about the past. I would love to forget mine." She nodded sliding onto the stool a little farther, since he'd declined her offer. No she'd really like to see what his blood would do to a vampire, especially a young one like her. It might be catastrophic though, her mind argued. Suddenly shy, Regal shifted uncomfortably on the stool and sipped her drink, smiling into the disappearing contents of the glass.
