Farfarello sighed, still believing what he had said before but not saying anything. "So he killed your family. The ones you loved. How terribly sad. But how can you say Telgove isn't a true warrior? If he defeated you in battle-" he hesitated before saying this next word, not wanting a Ganzi angry with him, though said it anyway, "-twice, doesn't that make him the better warrior?"

((Not a bad poem. Not that I, ah *ahem* would know anything about good poetry, though. For the following post; I shall post the map again for convenience.))

((Since you two seem to be content just wandering an endless hall, or whatever, I'll take the initiative to insert my own machinations.))
Before Raedou and Farfarello existed a large, towering gate of incomparable stature. It was pure stone, of an unidentifiable composition, with symbols and runes etched and carved all throughout its pillars. The only way to continue forward was to pass through the gate, but a magical aura exuded from its ancient columns, while not presently active, warned of a hidden danger in passing. Obviously, there was some specific means to cross safely and/or unhindered through this gate.
Likewise, Hashmal and Perrault came to a similar device, except that it was smaller: the size of a single hall, rather than four; and it was wrought of an iron alloy. The symbols etched into this gate were, like that stone one far below, ancient and indecipherable, even to the worldly Hashmal. Anyone magical could feel the negative energies pulsing through the air; the metal gate was most certainly active.
Both gates, however, would need to be treated with deference and caution, until their nature could be devised.
Ephlas and Clem had been riding for quite a time; the sun was now threatening to dip below the horizon, far, far away. Ephlas, who had been at one moment drowsy and impartial to the world around him, was very suddenly straightening and alert the next.
"We're close," were the only two words he whispered. And then, in the failing light, Ephlas pointed six degrees east of their current headings. "We'll be there in an hour."

(Because Kaye never posted as Diine.) Dakon, Diine, Aria, and Vinn had been traveling for several hours, now. They were quite likely going to need to stop and make camp--or, as far as Dakon knew, they would.

Bael was now some twenty miles south of Buforta, after having skirted and feinted an attack on Teteka to the northeast. Their spy should be leaving with information soon, as the light was beginning to fail. His small force of Mindbreakers, soldiers and engineers were awaiting their tactical information. At the same time, Bael's Mindbreaker force had been surveying the magical defenses of the city. It had hardly any; and nothing of significant power. An easy victory, if they could keep their element of surprise.
((Mali or Telgove can be accompanying Bael, but not both. One must be at Dela.))
~
They, the Favraen forces, both rebel and imperial, could do nothing until the following morn in terms of marching and invading their lost city. Also, no tactical knowledge had been able to reach them as of yet (along with the news, which would arrive in a few dark hours, that Teteka had been threatened). Helena herself was lodged in the castle walls, along with a few of her knights. Superior to ordinary soldiers in every way, they only suffered a lack of number. The Duke might outnumber her knights by pikemen seven-to-one, but only with the aid of supporting archers, and possibly some cavalry, could he even hope to defeat them in a fair battle. However, half of Helena's chivalric force remained in Aujad, where they were vigilantly defending the rebel capital from all threat of assault. A number of powerful Magi resided in Aujad as well. However, Teteka and Buforta did not possess that advantage... or was it a disadvantage? The Mindbreakers only needed to be protected, until they could wrest control away from a helpless Magus, and then, victory would be extremely hard-pressed to achieve for the defenders....

Myrrelda had not been heard from since her screeching, high above, when the Caravan's group had first entered the prison.
~
Lucius signaled to some waiting servants, who immediately hastened forward to take Leonard's hands and lead him to the mineral baths, which were heated by the tower's awe-inspiring central heating system. Then, with a sigh, Lucius sent for Remedius, the leading expert in Magical Warding, whom in search of the messenger rushed away promptly.
