Maybe having some sisters as theyre all anti psychic, or a marine librarian, and I believe there are some IG options for anti psycher stuff.

But otherwise thats about it. Just stay out of range and try and blast the seer with some guns. but honestly if youre looking for info on fighting eldar, perhaps go to the army thread of the army youre using against them.

well, I do know to decrease his leadership with amulet of Tzeentch, but is there a good way with Chaos? i bet my predator could do it, as well as my spells....damn friends killed my whole tau force (it way pretty small then) with mind war, because the stupid tau have no anti-psychic, thats why I gave them up.

Has anyone looked at the data-sheet for Karandas's Shadow Scept.....If so what do you think?

Hroth The Blooded-With the new Codex out there is not much you can do except take Karn since he's immune to psychic powers. Other than you'll have to rely on your Ld 10 marines.

Personally I see little use in Mind War as the few times I did use it it did absolutely squat for me.

Meister Ratte-I find the Shadow Sect very intriqueing. I think at most 4 squads will be plenty to distrupt enemy forces. Since any more you'll have trouble moving them around the tabletop and into suitable terrain features.

I'm curious to see what they can do with the other Phoenix Lords.

I used the Shadow Sect in a game recently, I gave Karandras the Vortex Grenade Stratagem and removed Abadon and his entire unit from play first turn with a "hit" roll. The chaos player was furious and sent every thing he had after the shadow sect, they got wiped eventually by a huge squad of khorne bezerkers after taking out two or three squads but vortexing Abadon and his posse was worth it........I'll definently field them again!

I know it's a little late to reply to this but Mind War is great. The Trick isn't to use it against Characters, since they tend to have high LD, but use the direct targeting ability to plink that Powerfist Sarge/Powerklaw Nob out of the unit before your Wraithlord wades in.

Maybe Im just lucky with it, but Ive always used it to pop enenmy leaders. But it is also useful (and more reliable) to hit specialists.

Mind War is used a lot on HQ units, often Ld 10 units, so there's usually only a 50/50 chance of inflicting a wound (or more) anyway. Remember too that the Farseer can warp itself in attempting the psychic power, though it's rare. It's a nice power, but it's not invincible.

Just a random subject change.

I have a strategy for taking on a squad of assault termies, what I would usuallly do is send my banshees right into the thick of it, shurikens firing. As soon as i get close enough i tie them up in close combat, then i bring a squad of dark reapers in to give my Banshees support, aswell as a few blasts from my war walker. I'm quite the assasin when it comes to 40k, especially against the tau, i just tie their fire warriors up, but the XV8s and the drones are freakin' annoying.

Hold on a sec...Run a CC oriented unit toward something, fire with their weapons when they have range, and then assault? I never would have thought of something so brilliant!

Be warned: With some of the promises/threats of the new Marine codex, those Assault Terminators are gonna have 3+ invulnerables.

Really? I should start paying more attention to the rumors. That would blow, but it's not as bad as Terminators having a 3+ save on 2d6.

true, thats the pain with marine termies, their save. Also i rarely use my tanks, infantry are just as good, and especially with GRENADES!
