Phoenix_Soul I can't believe I missed a game discussion. Oh well, I'm gonna put in my two cents anyway. The psychic fps you're thinking of is, I believe, called Second Sight. Didn't look half bad. Geist, unfortunately, doesn't hold a candle to Halo. Geist's gun fights are more similar to those of Goldeneye and Perfect Dark from the 64. The posession puzzles are pretty cool though. Switching to the topic of the two wireless handhelds... I've heard that the PSP's battery life isn't that great, but people tend to exxagerate. Playing movies doesn't interest me too much simply because I'd rather watch them on a much larger screen, with other people... There is an FF7 title in the works for the PSP, but otherwise the only title I'm interested in on that handheld is the Dark Stalkers game. I've heard that there may be a port or similar DS game on the PS2 though. If I buy either of the two, it will likely be the DS. Nintendogs has caught my eye, and I've been interested in Kirby Canvas Curse for a while. A Megaman Battle Network game has been scheduled for release, and a Lunar game is already on store shelves. Mario Kart might hold my attention for a bit if I can play it on a wi-fi connection, but I wouldn't buy a DS just for that... And there's a chance, even a tiny one, that Jump All-Stars might make it overseas. The PSP's battery life can't hold a candle to the DS. Once again, Nintendo does good work with the battery, being able to run for a solid 6 hours without a recharge. The FF7 game coming out for the PSP won't be enough for even hardcore fans of the game to buy a PSP, in my opinion. Looks good, but seems to be just another "buy me because I have a popular name!" game. The DS will probably come out with good games in the near future, just like the SP. Which is probably why I'll be choosing the DS soon.

The PSP's life is shorter because it's so much more powerful, Spec Wise. In my opinion the PSP is alot Sexier and stylistic as well, not to mention it has a power save mode, leave it alone for a minute or so and it pauses your game and sleeps, rather than shutting down, saving battery life, so they do good work with what battery it has, besides, why would you play your handheld for more than 3 hours anyways? There not meant to have serious games for mobile use, and you usually play them the longest on an Airplane, which dont last more than 3 hours unless your going from one side of the world to another. O.o. And then On top of that, theres a GTA soon to be realeased, with the feel of San Andreas that takes place in Liberty City. It looks really good. You know GTA's have always had a good modern day story.

Most people, I think, buy games for the fact of travel. The three hour battery life kills the PSP in that fact. The DS also has games in which you can pick up and simply play, elimating boredom.
So it was funny, the PSP, while being powerful, cannot stand up to a weaker system who's battery lasts, and is pretty much positive to have a super game that everyone will fall in love with.
Maybe I'm biased towards the DS, but it's just my opinion.

I dont buy them for travel I buy them for the games. Playing FFTA was mostly in my house just sitting on a couch. I have a PSP now and the only game ive been playing really is Lumines. If i had a DS i would get Advanced Wars and Meteos.
DS has a better selection of games at the moment.

PSP has plenty of more serious titles in the mix though, and it has a 4 hour battery life, besides, the DS isnt Rechargable, and doesnt ahve a sleep mode.. And i think your being really biased yes. gonk Dont worry, im starting my job at Gamespot tomarrow, and ill see who has who. Nintendo just has a bigger, more loyal FanBase, who'll probably stick with them even after they go under during the next generation of title, unless they actually do something with there Poor Desperate Revolution. stare

actually the DS IS rechargeable, and it DOES have a sleep mode, all you do is shut the screen and it pauses and shuts off the screens, do better research before you make statements

The fact is Nintendo will do better on the hand-held market no matter what people do, because nintendo focuses very much on games for kids, their biggest target audience are 15 and below, and those are the people that are going to spend most of their time on a handheld, in the car, on the bus, at recess and lunch at school, the PSP just can't compare. and no handheld ever has before either. Yes I agree that the PSP is a sweet system, the resolution is great and the setup is amazing, the price is rediculous, and the games are still far more geared to adults.

yeah when they come out with something way cooler that will kill the PSP anyway, the idea of bringing out a handheld that costs more than the main system is just plain silly

The PSP is sweet, but it's nowhere near 200 dollars sweet, my friend bought one and the only reason I didn't lose total respect for him was he worked the system and got it for about 110 bucks

Hey Soul, the DS can play imports so if you don't feel like waiting you can order the Japanese Jump Superstars & be good to go. I have two friends that have already ordered it & they're loving it. I'm not a fan of pretty much everyone in the game so I would never pick it up myself.
I was going to get Nintendogs but I may not now that we've recently adopted a real dog. In case anyone here hasn't seen the commercial Nintendogs has a bark feature that works when you leave the game on sleep mode. If it detects another DS with Nintendogs your dog will alert you by barking. Cool game but with a new dog & my other titles I'm having doubts about picking it up. If it's unlike Animal Crossing where if you don't play it nearly everyday the place goes to Hell(yet I still want Animal Crossing DS) I could still check it out.

It's replacing Ipods in some area's as well, which is probably why it does, considering how compatible it is with yuor own computer. I think its an awesome gadget, but im not big on handhelds at all, so im probably not gonna buy either.
