He rubbed Shiyaa's shoulder in response, and flashed him a reassuring smile before turning back to the monarch.

"Your Majesty, The Pit has never functioned in that manner before. With all due respect, do you find such pleasure in wanton and unnecessary death?" he said with a sharp edge to his voice... but apparently that didn't quite cover how he felt about the idea and he demanded, "What's Wrong with you!?"

Share? Who the hell would share glory like that? No one would dare challenge me if I won. He looked around at the people on the ground and wondered if they'd lost their minds. This was an excellent opportunity! Of course Caprica didn't have any friends, loved ones, or much of a will to live. In the back of his mind, really, he felt he had died a long time ago, or should have.

Marrek's lip quirked with annoyance as Dust spoke. A simple lift of his hand and a small gesture of the finger, and the guard on his right had the butt of his spear going for the center of the boy's back in attempts to pin him on the ground. It was none too gentle, either.

The king stepped just above him, arms crossed over his armored chest. "A loose tongue is a dangerous tool to possess. Take care or you may lose it," he informed. "As for unnecessary, I beg to differ. These events will serve their purpose.. My entertainment, of course."

Tristan jumped up and kicked the guards spear away when the king sent him after Dust."You may be the king but you have no right to attack him for speaking his mind. Royalty or not, it's a dangerous thing to be an a*****e around me, your Majesty. I'll thank you to leave my friends alone and take it up with me if you must fight someone. I wil promise you now though, whether it is your command or not, I will not enter that arena again before this blasphemy is done with. Valahn Trikai is no longer your favorite little pet in the arena, I assure you that." he removed his elbow blades from his hips as he spoke. "And you can take these damnedable things back." he threw Kaya and Kahna, his most prized possessions since arriving here, onto the ground at the kings feet. He drew out a card from his holster and showed it to the king and his guards."You see this card? The Ace of Spades. It stands for death, and I predictd yesterday that a death would come soon, watch yourself my liege." he spoke his last few words with pure Malice absolutely dripping from them. He lifted Dust and Shiyaa back onto their feet and spoke to them loud enough for Marrek to hear him."I don't want to see you two bowing to this....creature again. It's not got enough of a heart to be king." he knew that he would probably pay dearly for this but he didn't care just now, he wanted that rat b*****d to know just what was on his mind right now.

Oh holy God. How was Dust gonna get him out of this one?

In Dust's case, they woulda maybe beaten him up a bit, tossed him in a cell. ...Talking like Tristan just did to the King's face was a good way to get raped and executed and raped again.

So Dust threw himself back into the dirt at the King's feet... rather close to where those blades landed, actually.

"Oh Your Exalted Majesty!" he exclaimed without the slightest hint of sarcasm. "Please excuse him words! He's not been well. He's.... He's... He's...." Dust had no idea what to tell him. "He's has a brain tumor! He has amnesia! He's foreign! Please!" he begged with so much sincerety it boardered on theatric. "Please your majesty let me deal with him. I am head of The Watch here and it is my duty to keep those outside of the arena safe. I beg you to allow me to ensure he is delt with and such an outburst shall never happen again."

And until the King spoke he'd stay on his knees with his face in the dirt and wouldn't dare look up.

Shiyaa nodded at Tristen, then backed away a few steps. He then looked at Dust, surprised that he went back on the ground. Looking back at the King, he glared slightly, keeping silent.

"GET UP!" Tristan yelled at Dust as he pulled him back on his feet by the neck of his shirt."Don't you dare let me see you do that again Dust. I know full well what I said and he knows that I'm in my right mind. I'll take whatever punishment gets thrown my way but I WILL NOT have my friends attacked because they asked a question. NOW GO!" he pushed Dust toward the garden and stood in his way so he wouldn't be able to dive back into the dirt at this monsters feet.

Dust smiled sadly at him. He didn't know what he could do to help him now... only pray His Majesty saw fit to leave Tristan's punishment in the hands of The Pit...

"So you're ordering me around now, huh?"

Shiyaa walked over to Dust, putting a finger over Dust's lips to silence him. He smiled a bit, then brushed some of the dirt of off him.

"Tristan's just trying to help, and I'm sure he can handle himself, okay? So let's go to Garden for now and let him handle it," He said, only loud enough for Dust to hear. He was still smiling slightly.

Appalled with Tristan's show of disobedience, Marrek was struck into a tight-lipped anger. Threats, insults, and overall disrespect. It fueled him to gesture his guards for a messy kill, but he stilled his hand from doing so. He was sure what was come in the competitions would be much more sufficient to suit as proper punishment.. Whether he had to mold it to be that way or not.

"It appears I'm moved by Dust's wish for you to live another day longer," the king said, sarcasm evident in his voice. "You will fight in my games, I can assure you. Further refusal and unsavory behavior will only result in you becomming fodder for the lions. Think of that.. Or better yet, think of how much you treasure your friends' well-beings." With that, he turned his back to the men and started away, his two guards falling into step behind him. "The games will start within the week. Prepare yourselves."

Tristan looked at Marrek as he spoke about his stupid games. He spoke up as he walked away, making sure he was loud enough for everyone around to hear him."Listen you! I will not fight in your pointless games of murder and gore! And....if you or anyone associated with you, touches my friends, I'll kill you all myself! Gypsy curses are strong, and our power is not something to fool with, you ignorant buffoon!" he spun around on his heel and flipped two cards over his left shoulder, sending them flying at the kings guards, slashing the blades cleanly off of them then hovering in front of the guards, to scare them in a way.

Caprica went from gaping at him to laughing hysterically, which no one could hear. He slapped the limb of the tree under him. This was too much really. Brain tumor indeed. Tristan was just naturally crazy. But still... he wished the king wouldn't kill him right here. Soiling the garden like that. The garden was a place of peace for the fighters. It just seemed wrong to him. After the king had gone he climbed down out of the tree. He slapped Tristan on the back of the head, laughing heartily as he walked past. The only sound was a light wheezing noise. He strode off to return to his room, having had his entertainment for the day.

Both the guards by the king's side jumped, clearly startled by the flying cards. Bringing up what was left of their spears -being now only wood- they shielded their faces as they cautiously moved around the cards.

Marrek sent first an irritated glare at his protectors and their cowardice before turning his eyes to the back of Tristan. His gaze showed nothing but hatred for the other man. Oh! He would fight, he thought to himself. You can't protect your friends all the time. Not wishing to waste another moment looking at the pest of a man, he marched the rest of the way out of the garden, his guards right on his heels.

He stood with Shiyaa... not quite believing that the last five minutes actually happened. So he reached out and pinched Shiyaa's n****e through his shirt. If he squeeked, it was all real.

"Tristan, you have to fight," he said, quietly after The King had gone. "You've got to, now. He'll have people come to take all your friends away. Those of us in The Watch are talented but we won't defy The King. We can't. ...Don't you understand that we can't? You have to do what he wants..." he said a little desperately.
