((I'm just gonna go ahead and jump in here, because I haven't yet been able to find any character appropriate actions besides this one! Ha-ha!))
Jareth's ear twitched. He'd heard several rousing discussions this evening in the tavern, but none so intriguing as the ones surrounding the wager that was building. Especially so now that they'd added a clause stating the losers had to go up to the house on the hill. If only they had some inkling of what they'd be getting themselves into. Of course, it had been some time since he'd visited his old friends up there...assuming he hadn't outlived them, as well. With a bit of a grunt, he rose from the bar. He tossed a few coins onto the bartop and then spun with surprising grace for his current level of intoxication, striding slowly but surely over to the table where the crowd was gathering. "I'll take some of that as well..." he began in a thunderous voice, and he held up some sort of necklace with a shield-like medallion on it "...and I'll raise you a Stalwart Talisman; all the strength and protection of a solid stone wall in one unassuming necklace. Don this little trinket, and even the toughest of foes would have a hard time cutting you down." Jareth tossed the piece of jewelry onto the pile of winnings, and then pulled up a seat for himself. He shot a pointed gaze at the men offering up the contest. A small grin spread across his weathered cheeks. "However, I say we play Circle of Death. That way there is no room for anyone to cheat with numbers or hidden cards. It's all in how well you can hold your alcohol. What say you?"
(Alright people, the game is blackjack. For those of you playing I ask that you use Gaia's dice roller system and roll me 2d10 [otherwise known as two ten-sided dice]. As you might realize that combination of dice will only give you a total of 20 whereas in blackjack you are trying to get to 21. All female characters will add the number of babies they carry as a modifier. Male character will add... the number of siblings you have in real life.)
For example, my NPC orc Viper will be rolling 2d10 and adding 3 to the total. Whereas NPC Runk will be rolling 2d10 and adding 2 to the total.
The man visibly shifts away from Jareth as the mysterious man joins the circle of gamblers.
"Ahhh no. I'll stick to Blackjack sir. Not to mention such a game would exclude our expectant mothers." He replies, gesturing to Viper, Gwen, and others. Pulling a deck of cards from the vest pocket of one of his friends, he begins to shuffle and deal.
Keeping her cards face down on the table Viper deftly peels up a corner of the cards and totals the number in her head (15). "Stay." The pregnant orc declares.
(And in the case your number is still low enough that you want to take 'a hit', roll one more d10. Your modifier will NOT apply to that dice.)
Chuckling to herself, Guenhwyvar rook the cards from the gambler. She hadn't played cards in a while but the moon elf had nodded. Despite being pregnant she did not drink much anyway, nor could most humans handle the elven liquers.
Elza listened to the debating. She noticed one man in particular giving her a look, but it didn't seem particularly threatening, so she just raised an eyebrow at him and let it go.
Hearing the plans, she nodded. "Alright. If we're sticking with blackjack, you can count me in. If we're going with the drinking, I'm out. Under other circumstances, I might be up for it, but not in my condition." She rested her hands on her belly. Thankfully, the idea of a drinking game got over ruled. "So, have we decided how we're dividing the teams?" (12+2=14 Hit me!)
Jareth sighed and then licked his upper teeth, accepting his two cards begrudgingly. "Details, details..." he muttered, glancing down at what Fate had decided to offer him this day; 15. His face was stone and his eyes calculating. It wasn't the best draw, but he was still very much in the game. He used his free hand to lightly rap the tabletop twice, signaling he would take a hit. Maybe a tad risky, but... What the hell? Casually, he placed his hands down atop his cards, awaiting the next round.
(Rolling for all the minions at once, so there will be 10 dice listed. They will be assigned to the minions in the order rolled.
With some nudging from ________ (boss guy who started game) the man's companions recovered from their spell induced stupor and after some brief confusion, joined the game.
Minion #1 = (4+1 = 5, this guy will be taking a hit) Minion #2 = (9+1 = 10, this guy too) Minion #3 = (18+1 = 19, not this guy) Minion #4 = (16+1 = 17, not this guy) Minion #5 = (8+1 = 9, this guy)
Thai glanced at the thin pieces of paper in his hand and a small smile crossed his features. He didn't mind which way this game went actually. He was more curious to see how it played out. A small tingle went down his spine at the thought that he might get to poke around the deserted mansion in this town. But a small flutter of excitement went through him at the thought of the winnings, with rune carving and that nifty shield pendant and all...either way, this was a win/win situation for the bard, thus he was rather relaxed about the game. His tail bobbed in the air happily, twitchy and curious. He decided he'd take a hit this time.

Viper 9000
(Actually Viper I'm dropping out of this. I'm sorry. I'm probably going to leave this guild too. I'm tired of being in places where I'm not really wanted on here. )
(Whatcha mean? We love having you around. 4laugh Shoot me a PM please, you've been through phases like this before. We'll get you through it again. heart )
(In an effort to keep things moving, players who need to take a hit can go ahead and roll again. Remember don't add your modifier to this roll.)
Runk = (11+9 = 20) Minion #1 = (5+7 = 12, this guy will be taking another hit) Minion #2 = (10+1 = 11, this guy too) Minion #5 = (9+9 = 18, not this guy)
Mori stood back and watched the game as the mothers and guys played. She chose not to play since she didn't feel very lucky when it came to gambling. That and she thought that it'd be best to have only a few players so that the deck would have cards.
Jareth slipped the card he'd been hit with under his hand, then lifted his three cards just enough to see their corners. He sniffed lightly, then placed his hands back down over his cards. "Oh well..." he said from the back of his throat, almost a growl. He grinned as he slid the cards toward the center and flipped them face up, showing his hand to be at 24.
