Lianne watched as Lucifa changed midair into her blue tiger form. "I only know of one demon with the gall to stand up to a Controller," she hissed, crouching into a ready, balanced stance. She drew daggers from the sheaths on her thighs, holding one in each hand, ready to fight to the death.
As the newest of Control's members, Lianne knew next to nothing of Lucifa's real potential, only stories. So when the demon slammed into her, she was taken surprise by the speed and the force behind the tiger's bulk.
If only for a moment. Lianne held onto the tiger by her fur as she crashed into her, trying to dodge teeth and claws at the same time she stabbed her daggers into Lianne's sides. They certainly weren't death blows to a creature of Lucifa's size, but it was more for grip than anything. She pulled out one dagger and swung around onto Reine's back using the other one. Her knees gripped tightly around the great cat's thick neck, holding on until either more Controllers came or until Lianne could get her balance on the shifted demon and stab her again.
Bastian took Chris by the arm again and ran away from the two battlers, dragging him across the parking lot. "Use your legs, idiot!"
Chris stumbled and picked up the pace, racing alongside this stranger. His pocket was rapidly cooling, no longer holding a warm body, like a spot on a bed where someone was just laying and was, all of a sudden, gone.
He looked behind him and watched as Lianne clambered onto Reine's back, hoping that Reine would win. Lianne would probably come after the stranger next, for bashing her head in, and then for Chris.
Speaking of the stranger... Chris looked over at him. He had hair the color of blue mixed with silver, and his dress shirt seemed to look wild, though there weren't wrinkles in it. His eyes were focused on the distance, and determined.
"Who are you?"
"I'm a Sinner, obviously. Like you." Kay stopped, then pulled Chris behind a building and slowed down only slightly to talk. "More importantly, why was a Controller after you?"
Chris didn't answer right away. Then: "I don't think she was after me at all." They ran on for a bit more, passing the whole lot to the street. Chris pulled out his cell and dialed for Addy. "Addy, I've got to go, I didn't grab the cat stuff, but I need to--"
"Why're you involving her?!" hissed the stranger. He could hear Adeline's reply from the cell phone. "Whatever, I'm coming." He grabbed Chris's phone and closed it, then stuffed it into his pocket. "Great job, genius," he growled.

I tried to move with a cool hand... It didn't go as I planned.
I'm full of rookie maneuvers... and gestures meant to be grand.
"My daisy, you make me go crazy, forever amaze me. Now let's let the day go lazy."Reine hardly even noticed the knife punctures- like pricks on the skin more like. Like the skin barely being touched with a needle.
Then the Controller had the enraging audacity to CLIMB ONTO HER BACK. As if she were some sort of mule! The nerve of the she-brat! She felt the legs clamp around her throat- not enough to risk choking, but tight enough to be annoying.
Growling, Reine reared up onto her massive hind legs and then threw her head forward, curling her body into itself and sending Lianne hopefully crashing to the ground, the weight of a four-hundred pound demon tiger effectively crushing her.
Or at least, it would a normal human. That armor would more than likely protect Lianne, but the shock waves of the collapse would at least knock the wind out of the girl and let Reine get loose without the need to transform into something else.
----
Icarus was lounging. Of course. No surprise there, as he was alerted to the movement of his Controllers. Urgent movement.
Oh, of course Lianne was striking out on her own. Idiot. What demon were they chasing THIS time?
Rolling his eyes, he lounged back against the solid surface he had been leaning against, and waited for Asmodeous to come to him. He wasn't going anywhere. "My daisy, you know what I'm after- your musical laughter. A more beautiful disaster..."

Lianne held her hands steady against the tiger's blue-furred spine, daggers held in her deft fingers. When Lucifa roared back, the Controller had the foresight to know the best offensive tactic, if not the wisdom to get off. At the last moment, she drove the daggers straight down into Lucifa's spine, feeling incredible resistance match her own inhuman strength.
Then the great beast fell, onto both Lianne and the daggers. The handles of the daggers pressed against Lianne and crushed in her ribcage, but Lucifa's weight drove them deep into her spine like Lianne couldn't with her own strength. She wasn't tolerated as part of Control's numbers for nothing, but then again, Lucifa wasn't a problem with the Controllers for nothing either.
She lay there, feeling Lucifa's demon blood drip from the handle of the knife and mingling with her own blood from where a rib poked through her skin. She could see the white bone underneath her chain mail top. Lianne tried to squirm out from underneath Lucifa, but she simply weighed too much and Lianne was, unfortunately, injured. Fortunately for demons, they healed quickly.

"My daisy, you make me go crazy, forever amaze me. Now let's let the day go lazy."Oh, well crap. That sucked. Reine felt a gurgle rise involuntarily within her throat as she felt those knives puncture something vital inside her spine.
Change you idiot change before actual damage is done CHANGE-!
She did so, switching into yet another demonic creature: what humans would call a mixture of the two fiercest limbless reptiles on the planet: the giant anaconda and the black mamba. Or, in demonic terms, the Caracous Serpent.
The poisonous, dark blue snake weighing as much as the tiger did curled around the knives harmlessly as the wounds were healed with the transformation, and her long, curving body dug beneath Lianne's and looped around her, tightening painfully as she raised her great, triangular head to gaze at Lianne's face, eyes sharpening.
"Not as easy as you thought, neh rookie?"
This new voice was yet again different from the others. This one was more oily- with a silkier taint and a poisonous, merciless feel. It would make any human feel dirty just by listening to it.
She opened her mouth slightly, and there was a slight grating sound as her jaw unhinged. Her grip on the Controller tightened.
"Now, prepare to be swallowed whole." "My daisy, you know what I'm after- your musical laughter. A more beautiful disaster..."

Lianne struggled against the tree-trunk-thick coils for only a moment, then balled her hands into fists. Her metal gloves shifted with her movement, creating razor sharp blades on the end where the metal abandoned its sheath as Lianne's fingers pulled her glove forward, like tendons. Originally the lead (for that's what it was) rested against her wrists. When she closed her hand, the metal moved up at an angle, using her fist as a ramp, in order to create blades.
With those blades, Lianne yanked up, feeling as the scales slid past her lead blades, allowing her hands to be freed. She taunted Lucifa with a smug smile, holding her wrists crossed over her chest, blades bare. "Want to swallow me? Be my guest!"
((The idea here is that lead slows down a demon's accelerated healing if it hits their blood, but only slightly. Hence the reason Bastian used it on Lianne, but it only gave them another fifteen seconds as a head start. That alright?))

((More or less. It was pretty much a dare for Lucifa to swallow her after seeing her gauntlets at work, because Lianne is an arrogant fool, but a fool with good battle tactics.))

"My daisy, you make me go crazy, forever amaze me. Now let's let the day go lazy."((Ah, mmkay. Fifteen seconds isn't that bad.))
Well s**t. Lucifa's hot demon blood smoked the ground from the cuts in her scales- those were some bloody amazing gauntlets to be able to cut through Caracous skins- but the wounds weren't that impressive.
Her tongue flicked outwards as she mentally scowled. the Controller was injured- she could sense a rib-bone rapidly cooling in the outside air, and she came across a different taste. Lead. She hissed at Lianne in irritation. ******** lead. No wonder the wounds hadn't already healed- the Controller was going stone-age!
"Hmmm..." She snarled as she coiled in upon herself, gazing at Lianne. Had to hit the woman hard before that ribcage healed. "Lead. Talk about ancient history at work." The snake seemed to grin. "Let's be honest here- how long do you think that little trick is gonna work?"
Already the wounds were beginning to heal- the fifteen seconds were almost over.
But Lucifa wasn't planning on waiting.
Something inside the great reptile shifted, and she forced something upwards from the bowels of her stomach and pressed at the back of her mouth.
Unhinging her jaw, she readied herself.
And spat out a massive glob of stomach acid- one that could melt metal several feet thick- directly at Lianne's ribcage.
Like lead, for instance.
Then she uncoiled herself, launching up into the air at a speed not traceable by the human eye, making herself a follow-up to the acid-bomb. If Lianne blocked the bomb, there was no way she could stop a four-hundred pound train too. "My daisy, you know what I'm after- your musical laughter. A more beautiful disaster..."

((So did she like... Jump or something? I'll post more after you answer that, cause I don't really know what is going on xD))
When the coils loosened as Reine summoned up the dirge from her stomach, Lianne freed her wings and threw them in front of her, sensing the mass traveling up Lucifa's body. The mass hit her wings, melting the feathers and the needles within them, giving her a combination of metal and feather wings.

Shhhh...
She drew the sword out of her sheath and held the tip towards the snake's snout, bracing herself against Lucifa's own coils. Her hands were fists on her hilt, opening the blades on her wrist guards. If she couldn't dodge the snake, she would embrace it. Pointy-end first.
Lianne felt the ribs pulling themselves back inside of her, making her hunch over in pain, but she never let her eyes leave her opponent, never let her hands waver as they held her sword. Then she straightened up as Reine launched into her, feeling as her spine bent back inhumanly far, feeling as hot blood cascaded down her sword hilt and onto her hands. The acid and her healing abilities were combating each other as well, adding another fight to the original one between Lucifa and Lianne.
A car pulled into the parking lot, the windows rolling down. Addy parked and turned off the engine, then pulled herself up from her driver's seat and stood up, squinting against the sun's rays. It would set in another five hours or so, so it was still high in the sky. "Chris? Where's kitty?"
"She's at PetsMart, they need to give her a bath and shots." He pulled on the door handle, only to find that it was locked. He looked up to find Adeline glowering at him. "Addy?"
"PetsMart doesn't give shots."
"Good God, move." Bastian shoved Chris aside and strode over to the driver's seat, reaching in past Addy's slim frame and hitting the unlock key. He opened the driver's seat and shoved the owner of the car into the passenger's seat, climbing in himself and stretching to open the back door. "Get in already!"
Adeline didn't appreciate being pushed so unceremoniously away from the chair of authority in a car, and by a stranger no less. She pulled a loaded Glock out from the glove-box and pressed it against Bastian's temple, finger on the trigger. "Hands off."
Bastian's hand, which had been on the keys, slowly retreated towards the wheel. "Adeline, put the gun down."
The woman's gun hand shook, and she lowered it. "Bastian?"
As soon as the gun was down, Chris seized it from her, recognizing the necessity. "Drive!"
Bastian was already two steps ahead of him, turning the key in the ignition and setting the car in drive. He stomped on the gas, trying to get the hell out of there while they still had time.
"What the hell is going on? You're supposed to be in Germany! And you!" She whirled on Chris, who was facing towards the fight, gun in hand. "Where's the cat?! Look at me when I'm--"
"Adeline, put your seatbelt on and shut the hell up!"
She slumped back in her chair, numbly doing as she was told. Bastian had never yelled at her like that unless tempers were heated, and she was in the dark now. No one was angry, it seemed. It was so confusing. "What's going on?" Her voice sounded small, even to her.
"You mean you didn't tell her?!"
"I'll explain it later! Keep driving!"
((Poor Addy XD))

"My daisy, you make me go crazy, forever amaze me. Now let's let the day go lazy."Lucifa shifted right before she made contact with the blades, and a monstrous eagle-hawk attacked Lianne right in the face, claws scrambling for purchase as feathers flew, the creature screeching impossibly loud.
This voice was different too. Higher, but grittier than the others. Like nails being racked down a chalkboard.
Then the others hit her senses, and she squawked. Asmodeous must've alerted Icarus- she could feel them getting closer.
Squealing one more time, she pushed herself up into the air and, whatever damage done to Lianne, Lucifa fled in the direction the car had gone. She needed to gather up her energy to get ready for the next fight, otherwise she would be wasted on the cement. Three was one thing, but four? She was definitely screwed, and not in the good way, as the humans said.
Rising high into the air, she soared off. "My daisy, you know what I'm after- your musical laughter. A more beautiful disaster..."

Lianne sensed the others as well, which had broken her concentration enough to allow Lucifa's talons to slash through her face, spilling more blood. Then the bird was gone, soaring elsewhere. Lianne would have followed her if she could, but she had to disentangle the metal from her feathers and allow her wings to grow back. She looked in the direction her group members were coming from, waiting for them as her injuries healed.
Chris watched as something soared into the air from the fight, keeping his--Addy's--gun close in hand. He hadn't heard of other demons being able to transform, like Reine, but he wasn't going to let this test be his last.
"Is she following us?" Bastian asked, keeping his eyes on the road. Adeline had retreated to somewhere quiet on the front seat.
"One of them is."
Adeline spoke up. One could stay quiet only so long when someone had pilfered your weapon and another your car. "Guys... What's going on?"
Bastian, ever the subtle one, answered: "We're being chased by demons."
"Demon," Chris corrected wearily. He hadn't meant to tell Addy about any of this, but there you have it.
Adeline looked at Bastian, then back at Chris, then back to Bastian. "You're both crazy or this is a really stupid prank." The most cliched line if ever there was one, but what else could she say?
"Do you want us to explain? Or do you want to argue about how logical this all is?" She promised to be relatively quiet and let Bastian proceed. "It's all part of this contest..." he began, telling her what he knew. And he knew a lot, more so than Chris did, who, for his part, also listened quietly. Bastian told her about the contest, the different kinds of demons he had encountered, and a small bit about the Controllers. "I don't know much about them, but I know they're very powerful and they hunt down rogue demons. Like your cat," he said pointedly.
He wanted to know more about Lucifa. "The rogue. Do you know of her? Goes by Lucifa, or Reine?"
Bastian's focus split for a moment and sent them onto the sidewalk for a few seconds before he was able to right himself. He was going at least thirty over the speed limit, but there were no cops around the area.
"Of all demons you got stuck with, it had to be that..." he trailed off, thoughts getting lost inside his head instead of being set loose in Addy's car. It took another moment for him to respond, and his voice was low and angry. "Lucifa is one of the strongest--no, is the strongest rogue the Controllers have ever had to face. In fact, they've been battling for, I don't know, a few millennium maybe. How long have you known her?"
They turned onto Adeline's street fairly easily, the nice car now seeming in place with the big, upscale houses. "A day, maybe?" he answered, checking his inner clock. He stepped out of the car once Bastian had parked, eyeing the huge bird that had followed them. It was Reine for certain. Though the rest of her had changed, from what he could see, her eyes were more or less the same.

I tried to move with a cool hand... It didn't go as I planned.
I'm full of rookie maneuvers... and gestures meant to be grand.
"My daisy, you make me go crazy, forever amaze me. Now let's let the day go lazy."Icarus, Asmodeus, and Rage descended near Lianne, landing in front of her, with Asmodeus a half-step behind Icarus and Rage a full step behind Asmodeus.
Not even waiting for Lianne to say anything, Icarus took a step forward and struck her hard across the face with the back of his hand.
"Fool!" He hissed, mechanical parts sparking. "How many times have I told you to wait for my order? If we had attacked her all at once as a unit, instead of you striking out on your own like an idiot, we would already have her head on a silver stake!" He spat out of the corner of his mouth. "Just great. ******** perfect." He turned to the reptilian. "Asmodeus, follow her. Don't let her leave your sight, ensnare her if you can, and kill any human that gets in the way."
Obediently, the shadowling vanished, turning into a black bat and following in the direction Lucifa's energy had gone and all the while keeping low to the ground and slipping from shadow to shadow. Like a ******** ninja.
Then Icarus looked at Lianne, and gave her a deathly glare.
"YOU," he growled dangerously, "will stay here until your face stops being repulsive. Then you will follow us. But as punishment for stepping out of line..." he took a metal wing segment of Lianne's and twisted it viciously in his gauntlet-covered hand until it snapped with a ear-piercing squeal of metal. It would hurt like a b***h, and Lianne would have to go to a professional to get the segment repaired, but she would still be able to fly. For the most part. "Don't fly. Run. Rage will stay with you to make sure you obey." He threw the segment to the ground, and there it shriveled up like paper, and smoked a strange green smog. He looked back up to glare at Lianne. "See you there."
Then, leaping up into the air, he sailed in the direction his Controller and his Crow had gone.
---
Lucifa looked down, noticing the car in front of her and recognizing it as the female girl she had met before.
What? What was this? Had she accidentally followed them? How... coincidental, she supposed.
So the employee that had helped them was a Sinner as well. Strange... he looked familiar.
Lucifa looked behind her. She wasn't being pursued yet, but she could feel them. They were in this world now - all demons of every rank must've realized it by now.
The she-demon wondered how many were simply waiting in the shadows. Watching, biding their time. Seeing who won this battle. Lucifa had a reputation to uphold, and like <********> she was going to let some MEN and one b***h destroy that.
Still, that Sinner... she had time, she decided, to swoop in for a closer look, to see if she was right.
Then the car parked, and she circled, watching the three get out of the car before spilling the air from beneath her wings and diving downwards towards the roof of the vehicle, angling her wings and catching a bubble of air at the last moment to stop her descent short, allowing her massive talons to wrap around the storage bar on the roof safely.
She ruffled her wings as she settled, readjusting her grip on the metal bar that served for athletes to store their surfboards, bikes, and ice chests on the roof with the help of rope.
The massive bird of at least the weight of a six-year-old child sat before them, dark blue streaks intermingling - barely noticeable - in the jet black plumage.
Ignoring the girl and Chris for a moment, she gazed hard at Bastian, trying to remember.
Then she shook her head, flapped her wings once, and gave a short squawk before speaking. Adeline, who was not a Sinner, wouldn't be able to hear the mental voice.
"Have we met?"
((Right? Heehee. <3
Or do you think Addy SHOULD be able to hear her? =o)) "My daisy, you know what I'm after- your musical laughter. A more beautiful disaster..."
