lol here's the part that should suprise you, they are hunting dogs, but they were bread as water foul retrevel dogs. they even have their webbed paws to this day. the cut that is so commenly seen was clipped for a reason, around the head and chest keeps them safe from thorns in the underbrush, and their orgens warm in the cold ocean waters. the feet help them swim faster, the hips, keeps the joints warm in the water and the tail, keeps them boian while simming, and to top it all off, they look good too. they are smart, they don't shed, they make great family dogs, are friendly, out going, and sweet not to mention they have great expression. they are second in smarts in an unofficial test against border collies. however any standard poodle owner knows that in the end the standard is FAR smarter than the collie. so if you want to go bird hunting, take a poodle with you, standard poodle that is. trust me they light up peoples lives and are amazing companions.

lol hun, i'm a ballet dancer on my way to the big leages, i don't actually hunt, my dad and brother do though. and they always take most of my poodles, our hound mix, my rhodisian ridge back, my little brothers Great dane, and of course my boxer, bell. however 14 of our 16 dogs are pure breeds that i show regularly. and i usually don't fight so no worries there, it's hard to bug or anger me. ^-^ and i now have to go take the dogs out for their morning exersize before ballet class. so i think i need to start heading out for the day.
