((You can delete the post, or I could RP as some of the bandits to give you a sense of conflict. Here, if you want to restart, go ahead and delete the post and post anew, but if not you can respond to this smile )
The first thing that Sapphrin heard was the whistle - the whistle of an arrow flying through the air. It barely missed him - but did serve to distract him from the rope on the ground pulled taunt just as he walked into it.
Sapphrin was sent sprawling onto the ground. Three thick-muscled bandits wielding hatchets and wearing swords on their hips approached at a run from the edges of the clearing.

Clem watched the tail nervously, "C-could you stop that? It's making me a bit nervous..."
---
Irwin stepped back, "What sort of attack is this?! What's happening?!" Irwin was partially lucky, first, he didn't really seem like a magi, just someone who lived in the snowy mountains, and second, he only used magic when only other magi would see. Butn now this girl was uttering something in a voice that wasn't hers. Possession? Irwin decided to follow his grandmother's advice: When the solution to the problem is unknowable, use as much power as you can muster.
"I apologize in advance for this..."
Taking the advice to heart, Irwin pulled back his fist, and socked the girl in the face.

The moon shimmered over the Valtican Mountains as Raedou and Perrault stopped to set up camp. Raedou prepared a meal, while Perrault created a curser for cutting firewood. Perrault held up the new curser, smiling to himself.
"Alright, Raedou... watch, and be amazed."
He positioned the stone towards the log of wood in front of him, tapped it twice with his finger, and spoke the magic words."Kyr Zerus!"The stone began to glow a white color, and six silver wisps swirled around the log, swiftly cutting it into small pieces. The curser then shattered into thin air.
Raedou chuckled in amusement.
"Impressive. I'm suprised; I always thought that magic was based around the elements of fire, water, wind and earth. That's why my spell seemed so out of place to me."
Perrault put the wood pieces into the fire.
"Actually," he said, "Those are just the primary elements."
He pulled a piece of paper out of his bag.
"There are also secondary and superior class spells, tallying up to 16 spells in total... so far, that is."
He handed the paper to Raedou, who examined it with great fascination.

"So, each primary element branches off into it's very own group of spells... Very interesting."
"Yes," said Perrault, "while the primary elements are based around worldly forces such as fire and water, the secondary elements base themselves around more obscure things, like Healing, Cutting and Wave."
Raedou listened carefully as Perrault explained more.
"Then, there are the superior spells, that base themselves around more cosmic forces, such as Plasma and Gravity. These spells are by far the most powerful, but they are also strictly forbidden, even among the magi."
Raedou checked on dinner, and saw that it was ready. Minutes later, they began to eat, and there was a soul-piercing silence. Finally, Perrault mustered up the courage to ask a question that he had longed to ask since the moment he met Raedou.
"Uhh... What... exactly are you?"

Fayt was tired. he'd been moving all day, carrying the load on his back.
He was the royal champion. It was his duty to... he collapsed on the ground, breathing heavily. he looked wearily up. he'd had to travel without an escort, so that he'd be ignored as another fleeing peasant or something. whatever the reason, it had worked... but now Fayt was alone. He had to find the prince and deliver the artifact he carried. if he could, then he would lead the prince to the other ones he'd hidden. then the land would return to the rightful ruler.
But where did the prince go? He went towards the best area, Eopia, but he was far behind... he'd be lucky to catch up with the prince.

Raedou closed his visor and slowly looked up at the elven boy.
"What?"
Perrault could not tell what Raedou's reaction was, since his voice was low and calm as usual, and his face was hidden in his helmet.
"Nothing," Perrault stuttered, "I-I just meant-"
"Meant what?"
Raedou moved uncomfortably close to Perrault's face, which was now dripping with sweat. He could tell that Perrault felt horrible for asking such an offensive question, and decided to go easy on him. Perrault tried to make a recovery.
"I've... just... never seen anything... like you before... I'm sorry..."
Raedou stood there for a moment, and then lifted his arm to pat Perrault on the head.
"Don't worry about it."
Perrault looked up at Raedou, who stood up and limped back to his seat. After he sat down, he spoke again.
"To answer your question, I am a Desert Ganzi."
Perrault's eyes widened in amazement.
"A Ganzi?! I thought they all left Mythicaa thousands of years ago!"
"No, we just moved underground... Don't tell anybody, though."
Perrault laughed.
"The secret is safe with me. This is amazing! I've actually met a genuine Ganzi! I've always wondered what they look like under their hoods and helmets... Is that still a mystery?"
"Yes, it is."
Raedou could easily tell that Perrault was about to explode with joy, although he tried his best to hide it.
"I've checked every book, rune or piece of art that I could find for some clue of what they might look like," said Perrault, "but I could never find anything, so I moved to the subject of spellweaving..."
Raedou looked down, and began to think. Then, without a word, he stood up and took off his helmet.

Farfarello's tail slithered back around the way it had come, though instead of leaving Clem alone, he slipped it into his pack and began snooping around, leaving things in a jumble as he went.

((That element chart is very interesting. Would you tell me what all of them are - by post or via PM, please?))
Suddenly Cedric was again at Tanessa's side, who happened to be sprawled along the ground, now.
"Attack them," Cedric seethed, although his expression was still calm and removed. Tanessa seemed to be broken from her trance, however, and the girl quickly stood up with a glance and nothing more towards Irwin.
"Let's go," she mumbled to Cedric and walked quickly away. Cedric looked from Tanessa to Irwin, then gestured towards the former. "You probably won't want to stay here," Cedric said in his still-detached voice, "and surely you know that we're magi - we're being chased for who we are. For who I am, really," Cedric admitted while biting his lip softly.
"I'll explain everything on the way," the boy added before running after Tanessa.
~
Dakon nodded and climbed up onto the device. He was used to walking... not flying across the dunes. It would definitely prove to be interesting, if nothing else good.

"If you're being chased because you're magi, then I'm in danger if I head towards them. besides, I doubt you know these mountains like I do." Irwin replied, following the two.
---
"Alrighty then!" Aria moved her goggles over her eyes, "Let's do this! Oh... you see those handles on the deck? you can wedge your shoes under them to walk around... since most people lose their balance..." She yanked the lever, causing the paddles dug into the sand to move up above the pontoons like fins, then she pulled a rope, causing the sail to open wider. The skiff slowly moved as the wind blew, but then began to almost glide over the sands. Soon dunes were zipping past the skiff.
---
Clem heard a tink of glass and looked at his bag in alarm, "Stop that! you could break a vial!"

Farfarello grinned at Clem's distress and pulled a thin vial from the bag, dangling it in front of his own face. The liquid inside swirled around and around.

((It's night-time now, and at least one person is ready for the next day. In your next post, everyone, please provide for either settling down for the night or telling us what you plan to do for the rest of the night. A time skip is in order, relatively soon.))
Throwing off their pursuers, for the most part, Tanessa and Cedric, and Irwin if he chose to come along, traveled all night and well into the next day, before finally pausing to rest in the thick forests that surrounded the feet of the mountains. It was during this time that Cedric had explained to Irwin how he, Cedric, was born of a noble family, was an apparent prodigy, and the finer details of their escape, which included much luck and no skill.
They had been traveling the mountains, heading for Eopia. They were only a day or so away from the border, too, but then another scenario presented itself in the form of border guards.
They were now sitting around where a camp fire would be, if they had had any need for one. No tents, no supplies strewn about - just a pack of meager food passed around; various foraged wildberries and salted, jerky venison.
~
Dakon nodded, climbing into a position in which not to fall. He felt passive about all of this, and only awaited to see what would happen with the two. He felt something peculiar, and special, about them - that was for sure.
((Since they are in another part of the world, SPI, it is probably about dusk or so for the Rantuinne folk. But we need to proceed to the next day, anyway.))

Clem made as if to grab for the vial gthen stopped, "That's my... nevermind... you can keep that... It's only ammonia." He closed his pack up carefully, making sure there was no room to open it for something like that tail.
---
Irwin looked hard from a distance, "I should distract them... I'm a bit better at hiding my nature... besides, I don't have any telling signs of a Magi, do I?"
---
Aria leaned as she steered her skiff with deft skill. On the horizon was a city, which they were headed for.
"Looks like we're going to town!" she said with a grin.

Cedric nodded, but Tanessa refused to look at Irwin. She was examining the clouds, but anyone could tell from her rigid body posture that she was still angry about being hit.
"Try it," Tanessa said finally, after hours of speaking to no one. "They see you, a lone traveler, out her in the wilderness - they'll seize your mind immediately. Three Mindbreakers, on you like savage dogs. Trust me - unless you've been trained for the purpose, you can't shake them off."
Silence, for a moment, before Tanessa continued. "Even if you have been trained... the worse you can do is hold them off for a few moments, or kill yourself before they seize complete control. I know... I have been trained."
What was left unsaid, but was probably wondered by both the males in the group - was whether she had been planning to commit suicide, willing to do such a thing rather than let her body become a weapon against Cedric.
When Tanessa returned her gaze to the two across from her, icy eyes greeted them both. "Why are you even in Baeta," she asked, suddenly seeming more wrathful than before. "What the hell are you thinking, staying in Baelta's walls!? They'll kill us all..." she began to whisper, shaking, "they'll kill Cedric and me... and everybody...."
A concerned Cedric was immediately at the emotionally weeping woman's side, and a soft touch to the back of the neck was all that was needed to send Tanessa into a deep sleep. Cedric did not comment on his sudden accumulation of the power to do this.
Returning to his seat, across from both of them - they were sitting positioned in a triangular formation, each at a point - Cedric was crying. Tears, but no sniffs, sniffles, snorts, or sounds representing sadness of any sort.
"Forgive her," he spoke after a moment. "She's had a tough time, lately... and I don't think she's in her right mind, after the attack. I'm clueless, though - what do you think we should do?"
For all his talents and quirks, Cedric was, after all, just a kid.
~
Dakon wrenched his face to the side, and it would look as if he was avoiding the sand and the wind, but actually, he was concentrating. Very intently.
"Aria," he said rather loudly, so she would hear him, "I believe we had better get to the city - quickly."
No sooner had he said this than a giant worm burst out of the sand alongside them, traveling in the same direction and with the same speed as they had. It rose, before curving back to crash into the sand, still beside them, however, as it rose again through the sand, like a dolphin leaping out of the water.
This beast was about eight to ten feet in diameter, and featured no facial features except a huge, gaping mouth that was almost the entire width of its diameter, on one end. If one had the chance to look inside, they would see rows and rows of sharp, revolving teeth, and then they would die.
((REFERENCE: The subway worm-thing in the movie Men In Black.))
This was, of course, not the only species of Horde. But it was one of the most dangerous, and it was hungry.
((Also, whoever wants to, can post in the next day now. I believe I already stuck Tanessa, Cedric, and Irwin into the next day.))

Farfarello held onto the tree branch with his feet and tail, dropping the ammonia, and arched his back inward, effectively placing his face directly in front of Clem's. "Are you always this nervous?" He asked, his eyes glued to Clem's, though in reality looking for a way to be devious with his dangling arms while the poor biologist was distracted.
