((Just so's you all know, I haven't forgotten about this, I'm just waiting for enough time to pass with Rachel for Tara to have feasibly climbed that huge tree.))

Rachel's stomach is almost flat once more. The only physical change the sugary jelly as wrought seems to be a slight puffyness in the mammaries. It is not a growth exactly, but rather an inflammation, as if from an allergic reaction.

((I hate seeing this fall to the bottom of the page. But just so's ya'll know, there'll be a few weeks I'm going to go without internet, soon.))
Taralina felt that expediting her climb would be necessary if she was to reach Rachel in time, and as she grew within range of the honeycomb, she kicked off from the tree as to land on the back of a busy worker circling the tree. She missed, but managed to grab ahold of it by the pollen sac, spilling its contents down her face but hopefully managing to pull within swinging distance of the hive.

(eeww xp)
The worker be flails its legs and increases flapping in obvious distress. It begins losing altitude under the combined weight of its own body and its passenger. The creature manages a kind of controlled fall and secures a tenative hold on the lower lip of the beehive.

The amazon kicked out her legs and swung herself over the insect's body, partially blinded and sputtering from the yellow gunk in her face. Still, with a heroic flair, she grabbed a hold of the lip herself and pulled away from the hapless bee. Once safe, she wiped off her face, looking around for the warrior castes.

Workers swarmed all around, and she had to duck and dodge them, though they seemed more or less oblivious to her presence. The only warrior bees were hovering near the upper edge of the hive entrance, and they weren't looking in her direction.

(Sorry, I was without internet for a few weeks, but now I'm back home with consistent access.)
Not having noticed how much her stomach had swollen and only remembering how good the jelly had felt, Rachel gets back up and devours all that remains in the cell.

With no opposition in her path, Taralina pushed her way through the honeycomb, more or less at random. She was a little disappointed that there was no fighting to be had, but relieved, given the enormous number of insects that swarmed around her. Her charge was slowed by the need to avoid currents of automatons and the sticky, uneven terrain, but she pressed on.
"LADY? RACHEL? ARE YOU INSIDE? HEY!"
She shouted in her broken language, hoping that Rachel would respond, or else the search would take forever.

Rachel thought she heard a human voice through the thick walls of wax and the buzzing of the bees. It sounded familiar, although she couldn't make out the words.
On the other hand, there was another floor of honeycombs she hadn't noticed before, each gallon-sized facet of wax full of sticky honey...

Rachel's mouth begins to water as she sees all of the honey sitting before her. The taste and feeling the half-cell she ate return to her, and she quickly devours the remaining half before trying to climb to the next row of cells. In her mind, their contents are hers to consume.

Still pressing through, Taralina continued to call for Rachel and work her way deeper into the honeycomb. She had an impressive lung capacity and vocal strength, but so far there was no response. She began to become disheartened, surveying the size and complexity of the hive and wondering whether they had already torn her apart.
Reeling at the activity around her, she stopped paying as much attention to her footing. She stepped on an inferior section of wax, which split, unable to bear her weight. She stumbled, falling facefirst into a line of workers.

The workers started poking her with their legs and nipping at her in an irritated manner. She felt warmth and stickyness. She had fallen into a vat of partially-congealed nectar. The workers didn't seem to actually view her as a threat. They just gave her the impression that they were eager to get on with their job and would like her to stop interfering.
Meanwhile, a pair of workers chewed open a whole in the wax wall, exposing another row of comb filled with honey. A few other bees lined up. Their shapes where less broad and round, more angular, and they eyed her with a worrying sort of intensity. They seemed eager, yet a little frightened. They kept staring and shifting their six legs, antenna twitching at her.

Taralina opened her mouth to cry out, and swallowed a mouthful of nectar while struggling to get her face out into fresh air. Wiping the nectar from her face and lashing out at anything that prodded her, she surveyed the situation.
Now confronted with alien arthropods on all sides, she felt a surge of fear, and dealt with it the only way she knew how: by letting fly an animalistic howl of rage, that would have echoed were the walls not so soft.

The workers backed away from the loud noise, rubbing their legs and releasing harsh-smelling pheremones and dancing in outrage (literally. You know, bee communication by sign language/dance steps)

A worker bee buzzed over to Rachel and prodded with its feelers. It pointed to a large, hollowed-out cell with its head and waved its forlegs impatiently.
