elyzia UPDATE/ANNOUNCEMENT [3/6/10]: The original contest deadline of March 3rd is no more, & the new contest deadline is nonexistent! Yes, that means that this contest will be open & continuing on for a, as of now, infinite period of time.
Also, since nearly all the prizes -- especially the big ones -- have already been won twice, I decided to throw in some new winning numbers & prizes -- both big ones & somewhat smaller ones! Scroll down to the "Winning Numbers & Prizes" section of this thread to check out the new additions!

... & you thought there wasn't a contest yet that Burn hasn't hosted! blaugh Actually, I might have hosted a random number generating contest in Burn a while back -- there's really no way of knowing, save for digging through Memorable Threads -- but if there was one I'm sure the word "official" was excluded from it's title. &, incase you haven't fully caught on yet, when I put the word "official" in a contest name, it basically means larger prizes.
If you're a bit confused about what a "Random Number Generating" contest actually is, it's like a dice rolling contest, only you use the post action "Random Number". If you don't know what a dice rolling contest is, either, just forget the whole dice analogy & read the more detailed section below on how to participate.
This is one out of two official contest threads I'm putting up simultaneously. Both are contests not of skill, but of chance, & require no special talents or effort besides persistence in the face of redundancy.

—---&& HOW TO PARTICIPATE ::
Random Number Generating contests are probably one of the most simple & straightforward contests you'll ever participate in. Basically all you have to do is post replies to this thread in which you generate a random number between 1 & 5000 , & if the random number you generate is one of the numbers on the "Winning Numbers" list, you get the awesome prize listed next to that number. If your number isn't a winning number, you post again... & again... & again.
HOW TO GENERATE A RANDOM NUMBER:
Okay, so after you click the "reply" button & your computer is on the screen it goes to for you to type a reply in, notice there are two drop-down lists right above the space where the box you type in begins. The drop-down list on the right side says "Post Action" above it. By default, it's set to "None". Click on where it says "none", & choose "Random Number" at the bottom of the list. If you've followed my directions correctly, you should see something that says "Generate a random number from:" & then gives you two little text boxes to type in the lowest number & highest number. In the first box type in "1", in the second box type in "5000". Then just click post. The random number generated will be in a box right above your post.
