Ruehl frowned, feeling the anger threatening to surface. "I see," he responded, feeling hurt that his generous invite was so selfishly dismissed. He clenched his hands into fists at his sides, feeling the prickling sensation in his palms that threatened a spark.
"Well, I guess it's not only me that slips up in obligations, Haar," he muttered, reliquishing the respectful title of Commander. Before he would permit any indecency to his... 'crush,' shall we say? Ruehl stormed off toward the gardens.

His first and foremost obligation to his country was to protect it. That was his life and how he liked it. His second was to make sure his country stayed safe even after his passing or retirement, thus he had to raise an apprentice fit to be better than himself. This was also an aspect of his life...and he liked it for the most part. Peyton could be..childish at times but more than often he liked having the boy around.
"I'm not ogligated to-!" He started in a harsh voice, obviously angered by the prince's remarks and use of his name, but before he could finish the hot tempered boy was gone, stalking off to some unknown area of the castle. The young officer rolled his eyes, letting out a deep sigh as he turned towards Alti, a look of clear annoyance upon his scarred face.
"Shall we go then?" He asked, not in any hurry whatsoever now that he had made clear he was not going to show for dinner.

Alti nodded slowly, looking a little confused. What in the world was going on between those two...? He resisted the temptation to shake his head at their behavior. "Yes... I suppose so..." he murmured, feeling a little uncomfortable as the bystander of the arguement between the prince and commander.

Ruehl fumed as he entered the Burning Garden. It was a garden of beauty, filled with burning bushes and trees of similar variety, curious blends of red and gold flowers... but the wonderful thing about this garden was that everything could be burned without harm. The plants thrived on heat and dryness-- fire was a perfect source of energy and food for them.
"Argh!!" he growled, releasing his fists. Sparks of anger-induced magic crackled in his palms until with a snap, tongues of flame ignited and hovered in his hands until they grew in size. He flung them at every plant in sight, consuming them in flame that replenished every time a fire spell was cast. "Why can't he just not be so goddamned oblivious to everything! He's impossible! Impossible! 'You should know well enough that it takes at least two hours to get to Depressionland. Blah blah blah bl--"
Interrupted by a servant, Ruehl was informed that Malachai wouldn't be home for dinner. He'd be eating in town. Ruehl's spirits sank and his anger flooded him. The fiery prince left eye flickered a bright shade of ruby red and he sent a tidal wave of fire magic, covering the whole of the garden in blazing heat, not caring if it made anyone desirious to quit the area.

Ceris had retreated to the far side of the fire-light gardens, near his herb garden, obviously irritated. Why did Xel have to be so- His thoughts were interrupted quite abruptly as an immense wave of heat overtook the area, and would've scorched him as well had not a rather thick sheild of ice encompassed him. Purple eyes widened as the mage stared out through the wall of ice, his vision blurred...but- why? The surrounding area was not harmed, in actuality a fire storm was what was needed for the plants to fertilize themselves as well as regenerate...but...if he had been caught in that... Wiping away the frost collecting on the ice, Ceris felt something inside him break away, fall apart, collapse, die.
"Xel?!"
No. No. No.
Holding hands up to his head, Ceris quickly tried to regain some sort of composure. Xel was smart enough to save himself, right? He wouldn't have- Pressing a hand to the thick icy structure, the mage conjured up a sphere of warm light, melting the ice quickly enough so he could crawl out. As grass and trees grew anew in front of him, the young man looked around wildly, panicked as he saw nothing but soot covered ground and buds. Where was he? Where was he? The young mage murmured the knight's name under his breath, trying to calm down as he took another glance around the area. It had all happened so quickly and yet...- He couldn't even feel Xel near.
[[D: Noes.]]
---
"Are you sure?" The young officer asked before he took a step forward the castle's entrance. "If you'd rather have dinner here I can go alone, I just thought you would be interested in the death kingdom, considering you tried to play yourself off as one," he murmured with a slightly amused grin, turning red eyes towards the opposite cooridor.

"Mmm... I think you have your facts wrong," he said, a small grin appearing out of no where. "I tried to make you beleive I was from the Kingdom of Darkness. But I would like to come along - much more interesting than being... uhh..." He broke off for a moment, uncharicteristically unable to find the right word. How... odd for him. He was usually so quit-witted and sharp-tounged. "Well, better than being left behind or made to endure another tour," he finished a little lamely. He looked a little put-off at having been at a loss for words.
((Neh, neh, what happened to the Wall plot? If everyone is unable to make a post, then I can do a small time skip with the progress of the boat being nearly at the Wall. =o And the other nation still needs a name... *is really bad with names* >.>;; ))

The servant, wide-eyed in shock at the change in demeanor of his sweet-tempered prince, scrambled away with the heat flash. Ruehl couldn't help it. He was so upset. Had Haar, at the very least, not made him feel bad about himself by his clear sense of irritation... and then proceeded to break their engagement for dinner, he wouldn't have to eat alone now. And Malachai! How frustrated he was with his friend!
The prince felt like he'd failed... and there was nothing so upsetting to him. Every plan had backfired! "Damn it," he sighed, frowning. Ruehl sat on a bench beside a burning bush and sulked. He had 15 minutes until dinner... and no one to dine with.

[[Sorry guys, I've been actually.. completely wiped out starting school and finishing up summerwork/ doing homework. That's fine, Mie, if you also are wanting to just skip ahead. Generally, I'd say Faryn said he could handle getting to a cabin himself, and went to take a nap... until at least nightfall. There's not much to expand upon in a rest. Sorry, again. Feel free to move ahead and we can start fresh from there]]

((Okay. <3 Just wanted to make sure everyone was fine with it. And I completely understand about school work. I have a lot of work, but I know people with much more. Around show times, all the kids in theatre - especially the techies - are there from after school to like... eleven at night. And that's normal. ._.;; Lucky I'm in art? xD;;;; Except we get a lot of homework, too...))
Several hours had passed since the incident on the stairs. Sayael was alone on deck, supervising the progress of the boat. He didn't have to stear, but it made it easier on the boat if he helped in what ways he could. Darkness had fallen the the sky was just barely touched with streaks of gold and red across the horizon, although that was fading quickly.
He was finally alone... finally able to think. He felt more comfortable in the darkness. He sighed, finally alowing himself to relax. Jillian... was from that other nation. He felt waves of releif sweep over himself, mimmicking the waves that washed against the boat. He... wouldn't have to go through with his previous plan. No one would have to learn why for his plans... why he had needed two people. Not just him. He had to admit that his wholesome, more Earthly nature was entirely releived. His Dark nature was cool, calculating. It would be an asset, certainly, and he must keep his reasons secret... as always. He ran long digits through his chocolaty hair, his eyes closing as another wave of tiredness hit him. It was pure darkness now, but he could see perfectly. There were lamps that would need to be lit... but only once someone else came top deck.
**
Although Faryn had made Jillian promise not to come in and had thrown his concern off with scorn ((sorry for the assumptions, but I'm guessing! ><)), he couldn't help but to pace the area outside the prince's door. He couldn't help but worry when he... he... He sighed and finally stopped, instead leaning back against the wall near the door. He... what did he feel? Perhaps... perhaps he had been wrong to tell Faryn he loved him... His meeting with Rosaline had left him in doubt. The rose always made him... happy, a feeling quite different from the ones Jillian got from Faryn. Everything... why did everything have to be so confusing? He didn't like it at all...

(That's fine, Mie)
The hues the sun fading into a dusky sunset gradually lit the room to a dimness until darkness overtook all light. Silver locks splayed over the pillow and the sound of soft breathing infiltrated the intermittent silence of the room. Faryn's mind... the boy needed rest. Too many thoughts, insecurities, fears filled him when he was awake. And then there were those memories. Faryn always thought he was from the Death Kingdom or somewhere nearby... he'd not imagined the other was so mix-blooded. How complicating.
"Nnn," Faryn stirred and rolled onto his side. He didn't want to wake just yet.
... but... why was he doing this to the diplomat? Maybe he should've just crushed him in the beginning. But, truth be told, Faryn hadn't wanted to. He was intrigued- interested, if you will- in the other. Jillian bore any glare, any remark, any... dismissal the prince gave him. He'd shown concern in every manner possible, he followed the prince where many would be too scared to go, he... didn't leave Faryn to be alone. He hadn't deserted the prince... yet.
Solitude and alienation were what the prince was accustomed to. And the loniliness of it... well, it'd never left him. He forced himself to think it a necessary part of life. That it made him stronger; that it might even protect him.
Jillian didn't leave him alone.
Did it matter so much that the other wasn't of pure blood?
As a sliver of moonlight entered through the slots in the blinds, it highlighted his silver hair. A bleary black eye blinked open. Perhaps...
'I don't want to be alone forever.'
But it would depend... on just what Jillian would think of him after all this. After he knew the whole story... after he knew what Faryn did.

Jillian could feel himself nodding off. His eyes would close for a moment... two and then suddenly snap open as he was jilted awake again by his consciousness, his head more often than not jerking back and hitting the wall. After this had happened quite a few times, he massaged the point at the back of his skull that had been hit repeatedly, wincing slightly with the pain. He sighed and slid down against the wall until he was sitting. This would be less tiring... He would just... just sit here until Faryn came out. That was what he told him self, but the moment he sat down his eye lids began to droop. Soon enough, he was fast a sleep, the slow rocking motion of the boat making the transition from waking to sleeping an easy one.

Faryn slowly sat up in bed, blinking the sleep from his eyes. He could see the outline of the room just barely, and thankfully, his head no longer ached. He yawned softly, feet hitting the wooden floor with a soft thud. Faryn walked softly across the room and put on his shoes. He'd no idea how softly teased his hair was, but the thought didn't occur to him. Fingers combed back part of his bangs and he silently exited the room.
It was seconds after he found himself standing in a dimly lit passage that he noticed the soft breathing of someone else. "Jillian?" he muttered inaudibly, not quite understanding why the teen was there. Faryn started to open his mouth to say something harsh like, 'What, are you spying on me?!' or 'What in the devil are you doing here!', but Faryn quickly bit his tongue, eyes visibly softening. Again... Jillian didn't leave him....? What purpose did this serve? Rolling his eyes, he silently moved back into the room and pulled a blanket off the bed.
Coming back out into the hallway and moving quietly so as to not disturb him, Faryn draped the blanket carefully over Jillian's knees before departing for the main deck.
.... Darkness. Why was this boat so darn dark?? Faryn groped his way along the sides of cabins and masts until he was about in the middle of the ship. Squinting, he made out Sayael's silhouette. Except... he didn't know if it was Sayael or Dax.
"Who is that?"

((Awwwww. ;3; ))
Sayael turned to find the death prince trying to make out his figure in the darkness. Inwardly, he was none too happy at no longer being allowed time for thought, but none-the-less a small smile slipped onto his lips. "Here," he said, making his way easily to one of the many lights on the ship and lighting it. He did the same to two others until the boat was, if not perfectly bright, at least light enough for Faryn to easily see whom it was.
