Alti half wondered if the man ran on some sort of battery that he had to replace every few hours - he was, after all, expelling much too much energy to be humanly possible. Or perhaps he stole energy from those around him, because Alti was deffinately tiring of all this. He entered the armory, contemplation of his current guide whiped from his mind as his eyes found sights he was certain he would never be allowed close to back home.

[[Oh gosh. x3]]
Wide red eyes swiveled towards the prince, who was clearly busy repremanding the man more than a few years his senior. Glancing at his recently bandaged hand, Haar sighed to himself. The cuts weren't even that bad, he could've done without any coverings over them...so why in hell's name was Ruehl making such a big deal about it? The young man obviously knew that the prince was not familiar with Xel, oddly enough the younger diplomat had not been overly informed about the attack against Haar a few years back... He and Ceris had tried to keep the whole situation under wraps from nearly everyone save from the king and queen. Haar hadn't wanted some rebellion occuring against the ice kingdom if word got out.
Xel was only a knight anyway, although high ranked, Haar knew the prince wouldn't have remembered him.
Returning his bright eyes towards the scene, the young commander winced as Ceris shot a rather heavy glare at the sheepish looking Xel, who was currently trying to explain away what had happened. "You're back for one day, one day and you two can't seem to leave eachother alone! Can't seem to resist the urge to see who could more effectively lop off eachother's heads!" Ceris was rattling off at the knight, who had a rather apologetic expression plastered to his scruffy face...the apology wasn't for his commander though. The mage threw his arms up in the air in a show of utter defeat. The half-breed attempted to catch one of the mage's hands, but Ceris glared heavily once more, "Don't touch me," he hissed before stalking out the room, a great deal of static and other such uncontolled magic following him.
Haar averted his eyes from Xel's face. He'd never seen either of them...look so angry with eachother. The lightly tanned man brushed a hand through dark green hair, trying to compose himself before turning towards the prince. Before the knight could utter any sarcastic remark, Haar stepped forward, staring squarely at Ruehl, "I don't need your...help with my affairs, I'm perfectly capable of handling them myself," he murmured in the most calm voice he could muster at the moment. Not only would he be out of a cleric for a few days, Xel...god, he needed his help with information and knew that thier knight wouldn't exactly be willing to give anything up without magical assistance... And to make matters worse for himself, he still had no clue where Peyton was, and at that moment it was his top priority to find out just where his apprentice had hobbled off to.
Turning a more than overwhelmed look towards the prince, Haar sighed heavily as he watched Xel walk out of the room, obviously seething as he went to find Ceris. "I'm sorry for their behavior, you have no idea what has gone on these past few days and right now I'm in in no position to fill you in on all the details. I would simply ask you to actually show your face at the next briefing," the commander instructed, clearly more than a bit agitated that the soon to be king was often out and about and not home when their country was in a state of pre-war.

Ruehl's own angry order seemed to be quite overcome by Ceris's display of sheer indignance and frustration with this unfamiliar man. The prince frowned and dropped his arms from their folded position as he tried to grasp whatever bits and pieces of Ceris's reproval of Xel. So... though unfamiliar to him, apparently this stranger had more intimate relationship with Ceris and Haar than he imagined.
As the mage stalked off, Ruehl's guarded indignance fell to utter speechlessness. What was going on? His light green orbs fell on the object of his good intentions when Shay stepped forward. Receiving the discouraging remark with a surprised countenance, the prince soon felt... rather badly. But as the commander continued, Ruehl's spirits sank. Though his interaction with the other had been so limited, he'd already seemingly made such a bad impression on someone so admirable. But it was impossible for Ruehl, who had begun with the most noble intentions, to take in total silence from Haar that he couldn't understand the events that occurred in his own palace. And not only that, but because he had to miss briefings due to circumstances out of his control!
Hanging his head for a few moments to try and maintain a presentable decency and not offend the man who he ... might have developing affections for-- Ruehl spoke in a forced quiet, "I apologize if I trespassed against you on a personal level, H--... Commander." Sincere as he was, he brought his head up and stared Shay in the face as he proceeded in a more detached manner, "And I apologize as well if I ever made any mistake of not being there for your very important briefings. Whether it has been made clear to you or not, I hope to set the record straight. When I have been on leave from the kingdom, it was not because I so enjoyed the scenery and pleasant weather of others on vacation. Instead, it was because my studies and relations in foreign diplomacy required it." Ruehl inhaled deeply and exhaled a shaky breath. His voice progressively leaking more emotion, he finished, "I would've hoped that if anyone could understand having to balance a life of duty and obligation, it would've been you! I haven't a clue who that man is or what his business in the palace is. And obviously you have no intention of making it known to me despite the fact that I've put forward my best intentions for you-- unwarranted and unwanted as they are.
I'll excuse myself to return your foreign friend to your charge then, and I'll see you both at 6:15pm for dinner in the royal dining hall. Your... well, Ceris's... I don't know who that man was, but feel free to invite your friends as well. I'm sorry, Commander." Bowing his head to Haar, Ruehl took a step backwards and to the side before turning on his heel and beginning his trek back from whence they came.

Mie-tanuki Rosaline nodded. "I've known Jillian for... a very long time. Until earlier today, I had not spoken to him since he left... since he became a diplomat - years ago - but I have known him for a very long time..." he murmured with a soft, slightly whistful smile. He hadn't realised how much he had missed Jillian until their meeting earlier in the day. "He was... we were supposed to meet again tomorrow... But I suppose that won't be happening, will it?" Now entering under the archway into the main hall, Muertian shook his head. "Well, now, that's doubtful isn't it?" he couldn't hide a small smile at the obvious fact. His shoes made light clacks as they crossed over the stone floors. Up a staircase and to the left... the older girls' mutual dressing room. They each, of course, had separate private ones in addition, but this proved to be a helpful room for fittings and such. It was a long, grand room decorated with flourish and girly frills, with mirrors framed in jewels and gold. Sylvia and Narcissa were both being fitted for fine gowns. "So... are these yours, Rosaline?" he asked, referring to the dresses.

Rosaline nodded slowly, eyes following the movements of fingers fitting the dresses he had worked so hard to create. Absently, his own fingers ran over the tips of other fingers, feeling the callises and indentions made by many hours of needle work. He should... perhaps he should start wearing gloves while he sewed... He didn't want Mue - anyone to feel the callises. His gaze drifted momentarilly to his finger tips, a slight frown on his lips, before peony eyes returned to the scene of the fitting.
((Peony... uhnn... not sure if it's the same color to other's, but in my markers it's a veryvery dark red... It's one of my favorite color. =o ))

Haar stared hard at the retreating form of the prince. He knew the prince's outings had not all been for pleasure but he couldn't stand the fact that he hadn't been to a single briefing for almost a full two years. Much of the recieved information never left the castle so to have a very important diplomat not knowing the true state of the fire kingdom but more than concerning, at least that's how the young officer viewed it.
"I would've hoped that if anyone could understand having to balance a life of duty and obligation, it would've been you!"
Did Ruehl expect Haar to take pity on the oh so poor prince? The royal's many officials did more behind closed doors for the fire kingdom than anyone would ever imagine and this prince was nearly berating him for not understanding him? So the prince was forced to study abroad as well as show his face at a few parties, meetings, and conventions throughout the entire nation and he was stuck in the kingdom (for the most part) trying to figure out ways to get the country out of an imminent war? Was he bitter? No, no he was not. He would take the job of keeping his country safe over the completely formal life that the noble men and women of the fire kingdom lived any day. Was his life stressful? Had he reconsidered it a few times before? Yes, to both accounts, but after having climbed the militant ladder Haar's appreciation for his country and its values had grown immensly.
...He still had no idea where Peyton was, and for once in his hectic life he considered disobeying an order. He really wasn't hungry anyway. Igniting a few bursts of flame between his hands, careful not to singe the bandages Ceris had so carefully placed, Haar groaned inwardly, making the hot tongues of fire vanish in a wisp of smoke before he left the hall setting off to question a few guards as to where his apprentice had gone.

[[ooo. Haar's actually pissed XDD]]
Ruehl was not usually so upsetted by others. His sensitive disposition, if anything, made him more apologetic and willing to take responsibility or blame in situations. But... but the way Haar spoke to him! That not-so-underlying edge in his tone that was irritated with him! It ignited a temper in him that he was having difficulty keeping under wraps. All he'd wanted was to defend the man's honor and make sure people in his court paid respect where it was due! If it had just been him that Xel had been insolent to, the prince could've let the situation go... but... Haar deserved more than that. Ruehl admired how far he'd come in the military and how hard he must have worked to earn that status. Screw not showing partiality to the commander...
'I would simply ask you to actually show your face at the next briefing.' Ruehl shook his head as he descended the stairs. A stinging remark. What, now? Did Shay just think he wanted to leave his home for months on end? Why yes! Of course he'd much rather be in other countries, homesick, with no promise of returning home other than he'd be welcomed back sooner if he worked his a** off in his studies to complete them faster. Of course he wanted to act formal and eloquent as he met 5 billion other royals, servants, nobles, advisors, diplomats, and the like every other day and not have but a few fleeting seconds to be 'normal' or an hour or so to spend with Malachai every night.
Not.
It was a horribly unfair presumption that the life of a prince was luxurious and carefree. Ruehl had a huge weight on his shoulders. He struggled to even have a life that was his, yet one flicker of him not living up to one duty in the wake of all the others made him so appear so inattentive to Haar! Ruehl sighed. Great. Just great. Pressing a paging button on his belt, he waited in the first floor lobby for Triton to return with Alti.

Though the man was about to give a thorough history of how the Armory came to be, Triton stopped abruptly and closed his mouth as his attention was diverted elsewhere. A buzzing pager at his hip went off and a red light flashed on it, notifying him of its sender.
"Oh my, Sir Alti! It appears that's all for today. I'm very sorry we couldn't finish! But, alas, the prince would like our return... shall we go?
Holding open the door for the guest, Triton then led the way back to the first floor lobby where Ruehl stood impatiently. After being dismissed by the prince, he turned to say goodbye to Alti. Extending an enthusiastic hand, he declared, "I hope to see you soon Sir Alti! Do come by my office if you have ANY questions!"

Alti nodded, but the expression on his face made it clear that he had no inclination what so ever to seek out the over-enthusiastic tutor. He was a little disapointed at not being able to study the armory more closely, but he knew he'd never be allowed to take anything of that ilk home with him. The Fire Kingdom treasured their weapons too much to give one away to a pretty much useless foreigner. Long, paper-pale digits ran through the teens dark hair in a movement of habbit as he stood with the prince, waiting for something to happen. He... wasn't at all good at this sort of thing. Bright eyes flickered around the room until finally settling on Ruehl, who looked not at all happy, to say the least.

[[Triton rocks so very hard. XD <3]]
The young man huffed as he descended the red carpeted stairs that led to the main lobby, stopping short at their end as he noticed his prince as well as his guest. He hadn't wished to confront the prince so soon but he couldn't exactly avoid either them for the rest of the day. Lowering his eyes, the commander walked briskly towards the guard leaning against the area where the lobby met one of the many halls leading towards other places in the castle.
He asked the guard a few questions and soon realized his apprentice left with his sister for the kingdom of death earlier that morning, most likely after Haar had left the blonde and his care taker for the day. Red eyes bored into the granite floor as he listened patiently, his disposition relatively calm for how furious he was with Peyton as well as the knight he had posted to make sure the blonde didn't leave.
As the guard's explanation ended, Haar nodded. "Wonderful," he murmured in a more than sarcastic drawl as he turned back towards Alti with an almost amused expresion. Oh how he would enjoy punishing Peyton when he finally found the little scoundrel. "Alti," keeping his eyes on the addressed figure, Haar continued in a pleased tone, "Would you like to accompany me to the Death kingdom? I could take you to your kingdom from there if you'd like or you can always come along for the ride."

Alti flinched slightly at the words 'to your' - a phrase that shounded, when said fast, a little too much like 'tour.' He had had enough of those for the day. Recovering he said, "I'll go with you... I don't expect I'll be much needed back home." Or, at least, that's what he hoped. He didn't want to return. "But why do you need to go to the Kingdom of Death?" His eyes had been studying the prince while Haar had been talking with the guard and the noble had heard nothing of what had been exchanged between them. Haar sounded a little too... happy. Somehow that tone made Alti shudder slightly - not enough to be noticeable to anyone who wasn't watching him closely, but it had still happened.

[[Tour. -ded- That cracked me up. ]]
"Wonderful."
The word was uttered this time in a much more pleasant tone as he played with the handle of his sword. He wasn't sure if the prince would allow his depart if he heard exactly why he was leaving, to hell with it, he mused with a smirk before continuing, "I need to knock some sense into my apprentice. I don't think your mother would be particularly happy to find her patient in the death kingdom after recieving a death curse...Is this a phase all children go through?" He asked, glancing at the prince as well as Alti for a moment before sighing. He knew Peyton was intelligent, but sometimes his remarkable wit liked to stay hidden, and he swore if there were any remants of the curse that boy would be in so much pain- for god's sake he was in the very kingdom the curse orignated from, it would obviously increase the power of it, residual as it may be.

((xDDD That's actually what I read. I was like... "wait a minute... that doesn't make sense... 'take you tour kingdom'?" xD;;; I felt so stupid, but I had to include it.))
Alti nodded, not at all envying the boy his oncoming punishment. "Well... if Mother catches him, you can be sure that he won't be escaping any time soon. She'll probably have him strapped down to his bed for about a month, force-feeding him lots of bitter things that supposedly with keep him in enough agony to remind him not to 'stress himself when he's injured' while healing him at the same time." He had the description so pin-pointed that it was quite obvious he had been on the receiving end of this treatment at least once, but probably more.

[[ahahahaha. Poor Alti. Triton is just.... well, insane. xDDD]]
Ruehl swiftly approached Alti once Triton had left... but why was Haar there? Coming upon the two, he distinctly heard the Haar's intent on leaving. Freezing, the prince slowly filled with a boiling fury...
How could Haar do that?! He'd... he'd apologized to him, he made sure that his parents had prior engagements so that it would just be Malachai, Haar, Alti, and himself... he'd booked the royal dining hall. He even knew what was going to be on the menu!
He missed the rest of their conversation, lost in thought. When he came up behind Haar, he tapped him on the arm. "Well... I see you found him... so, um, I'll see you two at 6, right?" he asked, in a quiet, audibly restrained voice.
'Say... you'll be there.... Say it...'

Haar stared quite incredulously at the prince, one brow quirked before his gaze wavered back towards the foreign teen. "You should know well enough that it takes at least two hours alone to get to the death kingdom's borders," Haar muttered in a slightly agitated voice. It was already nearly four o' clock, the prince couldn't actually expect to see them at dinner, could he? Tapping the sheath of his sword, the young man ran his free hand through his dark brown hair for a moment, trying to compose himself.
"Not to mention the trip to the capital and our return home," he added with a slight frown, keeping his red eyes averted elsewhere.
