" I won't be gone long, I just have a few things to clear up and help out with. There's a bunch of baby-birthing stuff that I'm apparently needed for." He shrugged, then leaned back and stared at the ceiling. " I don't really want to go, but whatever. I don't think I have much of a choice."

" If you can't be the father of their child then you can be the godfather. At least plenty of kids won't be bullied because they have a celebrity godfather." He looked at Lock and narrowed his eyes in thought. " Would've been a lot better if it were the actual Godfather."

He looked up at the ceiling, remembering his time with the beautiful woman. " We met in Mexico during a tour of mine. She was a singer from Mexico City based in Vegas, so when she left to go home, I followed her. We slept together for a few weeks, but there was no real chemistry, so when she met Tomas, we broke up amicably. At any rate, I really enjoy her company and she and I have a good time talking about our relationships. She actually helps me a lot with you." He offered a smile. " I think you'd really like her if you met her."

However, even if he was himself again he wouldn't be too fazed, their past fights taught him better. " Maybe I'll go with you next time you visit her." Ethan said, making it clear that he wouldn't travel. He'd rather just stay in the dorm for a while and play with Clementine.

He wants you and I to come to his show whenever we can, but understands that it might take a long while for us to be ready to travel, so he says that his loft is always open for us." He set the bag down, leaning on the dresser and watching Clementine yip in her sleep and kick her feet a little.

The last time he saw him, he was giving him the death glare for holding Lock's hand during the play. " Your brother likes me now, huh? Or is he just being nice?" he asked as he scratched underneath Clementine's snout. He wondered what she could be dreaming about. Was she chasing a cat? Was she even aware the cats existed yet?

" Besides, he liked you well enough before he realized you loved me. Now he likes you even more."

Markus tried to make me go with Hyungnim to New York. I almost did. But after I changed my mind and decided to stay with you, whether or not either of us were in danger. it wasn't as hard a decision as I'd convinced myself it was."

" You know," he said quietly as he scratched behind the pup's ear. " I wouldn't have blamed you if you left. My luck hasn't been getting much better, after all. But..." He turned his head and smiled warmly at the blonde. " I'm really glad you stayed."

I was afraid I'd lose you if I stayed with you, that I'd keep putting you into danger, but who else could protect me as effectively as you do?" He smiled. Lock was still plenty energetic and stubborn, but back then he wasn't that considerate of others, was he? He kind of had this cold distance around people, or teased them just to make fun of them. Just an average celebrity attitude. At least, that's what Ethan thought. But now Lock was definitely nicer, probably because he had to spend a good chunk of time looking after the Texan. " Sometimes I wish I could be a hero, y'know?" Ethan asked while putting the palms of his hands on the bed behind him. " Help people instead of give them bad luck? Maybe if I try to be a villain I'll jinx myself into being a hero." He chuckled at the idea then looked at Lock, nodding at the door. " Anyway, I'll see you later. Bring me a souvenir, okay?" he said while giving him a half-wave.

You should be off school for another week or so, so just sleep in and I'll wake you when I get back. Want me to call Markus to watch over you while I'm gone?"
