DarkElf27 rhadeof_valceca well other news is that the sniper drones are "space marine" killers therefor u can assume them to be AP-3 or less ,os STR-8. Im going with the AP-3. AND IF UR LOOKING FOR COOL TAU BATTLESUITS GO LOOK AT THE FORGEWORLD STUFF!!!!! What are these Sniper Drones you speak of? the sniper drones are teams of one warrior with a command console and 3 drones with rail rifles. he is equiped with the same camoflage as stealths and he has a networked markerlight. it is rumoured that you can take multiple teams in a single heavy support slot...not confirmed

Makes your Tau about as good as the guardsmen in CC (as long as their is 12 gaurdsmen with Carapace armour) i only give the ork fighter upgrade to battlesuits.... the regular troops stay the same, and i play more mech tau...so all my troops are in devilfishes. my full army isnt built yet, but it has one hammer head 3 broudsides and the rest is fulled up with crisis suits and troops in devilfishes

Give em a unexpected edge

has anyone else noticed that in the sneak peek of commander shadowsun there is yet another drone in the background?? it looks like its a markerlight drone, but i havnt heard anyone talk of this yet. i think they will be a usefull replacement to pathfinders, although i will use pathfinders it will just be for their rail rifles...has anyone heard any rumors concerning the markerlight drones? or any other heavy gun drones?

I don't know what the deal is with people assuming that Pathfinders will be @#$in;g useless in the new codex. According to the reworked Markerlight rumors, they'll be freaking awesome, and anyone who bought Pathfinder rail rifles wil cry, because they'll want more Markerlights. I honestly find the Markerlights more useful than the Rail Rifles NOW, and I expect the two to be more balanced out in the new codex.
Rumor has it that the new Markerlights can do one of the following with each hit: Give a squad +1 BS. Maxes out at BS5 Let a squad auto-pass it's target priority check. Give the enemy being fired on -1 Ld for the purpose of pinning checks.
Lets not forget the special issue Devilfish they'll be getting, and the possible rumor that you can take Pathfinders without the Devilfish. So I don't see anything replacing Pathfinders, they'll still be the best source of Markerlights for a Tau army, it's just that they are no longer the ONLY viable source of them.

Err... that is just to much to read at the begining-80 pages... And any of you guys figure out what the new Tau close up unit is, to take on the Power armor wearers... i heard they are called vespids or something, like a 3s, and a 3 ws... thats just what i heard... thats pretty damn good stats if you ask me...but then again, there probably going to cost alot of points, and money...lol... so...

That's how bad it is. Looking at the new Biovore and the Vespid models, I think there's a modeler somewhere in GW who's absolutely dying to get to work on Orks already, because scraggly ork teeth seem to be in this season.
