((xD Doodoodoodoo... Mahnamahna!))
Alti nodded, eyes roaming across the room. "I do..." He didn't mention that it was mostly because he often had nothing to do but reading that he had become interested in books. They were calming and made him forget where and when he was - something he had always wanted and needed. A small smile touched his lips and for once it was not a smirk, nor did it hide any malicious intent.

Jillian shook his head, looking anywhere but at the irate prince. "No... no one knows, apart from Enoth and the people on this boat. And Rosy... but I doubt you know... her," he murmured. "My mother had mixed blood from the two nations - her mother ran from the other nation and, after having child, returned for reasons of her own... And after my mother died, I ran away across the border. I... didn't think Enoth would follow." As usual, he refrianed from calling that man his father. What father could possibly be so cruel? It was obvious that he had no good memories of the other nation, for his eyes were clouded with depression. "If the kingdoms were to know, I doubt I would remain a successful diplomat."

Mie-tanuki Rosaline nodded - an obvious lie. "Y-yes... I'm fine. Just a little shocked... I mean, it was quite a surprise - not that you're not perfectly princely or anything, it's just..." He sighed, casting around for something to say that would sound "right," his cheeks growing steadily redder. "... It's nothing," he said at last, shaking his pink head delicately.
((I wanna find some way to bring in Jilli/Rosy's relationship... But I guess that waits 'til the next day when Rosaline is waiting for him and he never comes?)) Muertian merely watched the other with an arched brow and slightly widened eyes. Did he not have license to be a bit weirded out by the other's behavior? "Right..." he responded, still in the dark. It was then that Treza appeared, much to his contentment. Or he so thought.
"Finally! There you are," she declared, pink eyes taking in the sight of his guest as well. She recognized Rosaline and smiled in his direction for a moment. "I just wanted to let you know that Jillian took your horse, M."
Eyes widening either in shock or in a bit of fury, Muertian repeated, "He took my horse?!" When met with a nod, the teen huffed and knelt down to Treza's level. "And precisely what for little sister? Who would've permitted that?" Treza was uneffected by the other's clearly restrained upset. "I permitted it because Faryn ran away." Muertian rolled his eyes and stood back up. "What's wrong with letting the dumb coot stay lost?" He was admonished by a sock in the leg and an angry look from his youngest sister.

TableTopWatch Had the mistake been uttered by anyone else, the young man would've been sure to deck them, but of course this was not just anyone but his very own prince. He didn't think punching his employer of sorts would be a very good thing, thus he merely tensed and cracked a smile. "It's Peyton." He couldn't expect the prince (who hadn't been home for quite some time) to remember the orphan he had picked up back when he was sixteen or so, could he? Of course not. Just because the young blonde was a high ranking ranger didn't mean anything, he was no commander and thus obviously wasn't important enough to have his poor name remember.
Flexing his cut hand, Haar kept the faint smile on his face as he continued, "Alti? He's..." What was Alti anyhow? "Why do you ask?" He questioned with a puzzled expression. While the prince thought up an answer he could in turn make up some good excuse for having the foreign teen still around... [[Like that impressive description of Peyton's abilities isn't some sort of subliminal message to me that I should've had Ruehl remember his name, Tato... -eyeroll- Right. Poor baby, Peyton.]]
Ruehl suddenly recognized the name and nodded in acknowledgement. "Aha! Right. Peyton!" he repeated, mentally noting he should remember it in the future. To him, the younger boy was recognizable in accomplishments, but Ruehl's only connection to him was through Haar. Or so Ruehl chose it to be.
Why did he ask about Alti? Ruehl couldn't very well say, 'Well, quite frankly, I wanted to know if you were intimately involved with anyone and was looking to rule him out as a possibility.' Ruehl was a bit more tactful than that, and not so foolish with his feelings. "I was just... curious. He seems vastly different than you or Peyton. Or Ceris. But I thought him a friend of yours which is why I invited him to dinner. Am I mistaken?"

[[ o___o; Uh. Err, I didn't intend for it to be a subliminal message. o__O; Wtf. Haar was just a tad bit irritated that his apprentice wasn't known around the castle, sort of like a pride thing, you know? o_O Geezfreakoutonme.]]
Haar relaxed his grip on the stair railing, if he kept that up his gash would only resist healing. He didn't want to have to clean up any blood later, or for that matter ask anyone else, so...he just needed to relax. Letting out a heavy breath, the young man continued up towards the second floor.
"Yes, Alti is quite different, I suppose. He's a little sarcastic thing, but so is Ceris when you get to know 'im," Haar explained, glancing back with a bright smile, an unusually genuine one. "It's fine that you invited him," he murmured in response. Haar wouldn't mind getting to know the teen a bit better. He had, afterall, just met him the previous night. And even if he had been in close contact with the younger man, much closer than he would've permitted most people in a normal situation, he hadn't learned anything. (Not much anyway). In combat he had no problems getting up close to anyone, well almost anyone... in life however he didn't feel comfortable with most people. He surprised even himself that he'd allowed Alti to stay so long.

"Where are we?"
Brown eyes swiveled around the unfamiliar area. The dark cooridors just didn't seem to end. "Aren't rangers supposed to memorize places?" The knight asked with a faint smirk as he looked up. "You know, so they can perform raids efficiently as-"
"-We're not on some sort of mission, I didn't think to see where we were going, it's not as an unconscious skill as I'd like it to be," the blonde muttered, explaining in short that he had no clue where in hell they were either. "If we can find the enterance I can find Lady Haar, I at least know where that meeting room is from the lobby," he added with a sigh, at least he wasn't completely useless to the knight- which was the last thing he ever wanted to be for anyone.
"Fine, let's hope we can find the lobby soon 'cause you're getting heavy," Cain muttered with a sigh, readjusting the teen on his back once more before continuing onward. "Maybe we should turn around?"
"Sounds like a plan!"

He was saved the difficulty, however, as a young, silver-haired girl appeared - once of the princesses, as he knew. He began a curtsy but then stopped, eyes locking on the little girl, as he heard her news. "Jillian's gone...?" he asked, looking dismayed. He had... he had wanted to much to talk with him again - after all, there was so much that had happened since Jillian had left. Realising his disrespect, he completely the curtsy and then stood up straight, his deep ruby orbs full of comfusion from the day's events.

Though lost from this talk of 'Enoth' and 'Rosy', what Dax did register that Jillian had once before walked a land none of them had seen before. The very nation that they were currently heading for. "Well, I doubt it'll very much matter what the other Kingdoms will think now. We're already this far. And since you've been to the place before, you can be a sort of tour guide! It'll be great fun."

Jillian shook his head. "It most likely won't be fun. Magic... doesn't work in the other nation. That's about all I remember about it, apart from things that... have nothing to do with this... trip. I don't know why it doesn't... it just... doesn't. It's like... the land sucks the magic out of you and it felt as if part of myself were asleep the whole time..." he explained.

[[omg. Sayael is SO CUTE<3333]]
Faryn listened in silence. Dax had a point... at least they'd have a guide. But there was something very annoying and very wrong with this picture. Yes, Faryn somewhat understood that without his magic, he'd be in trouble, but he still had the bloodstone. That had to account for something. Even so, blood so very potent in magic might create a harmful reaction if subdued.
But what was occupying his mind was that... while Jillian had been a diplomat and good with people, he'd never exhibited magical power to Faryn. The prince merely assumed he was a bit of a genetic mutant with very little, if any. And it would make sense, wouldn't it? He was born in a place with seemingly little to no magic.
"So..." Faryn spoke up, "Exactly what part of you would that be, Jillian?"

Muertian then obliged himself to be agreeable and with that, Treza eventually teleported away. Focusing back on Rosaline, hunter green eyes seemed a bit more subdued. He was trying to withhold his temper by all means.
"So... anyway, you know Jillian, huh?" he questioned casually, heading back toward the main hall where he first met the other. [[yey. That's more like M's hair ^^. oh... and whoever Seth is.... Iwanthisbebies. he's cute. LOL]]

"The part with magic," he said, looking as if that must be obvious. "My magic is no where near as strong or potent as it would be were I fully from this nation, but it is still there," he explained. "It does not help that my blood is also very watered down - I have some Darkness and Death as well as a bit of Earth and Ice in me, and perhaps more. I don't know too much about either side of my family... they are both about equally as vague. I never asked Enoth anything and he never told me anything, but Mother used to be very descriptive about my heritage from her side... although I can't remember most of it."

Rosaline nodded. "I've known Jillian for... a very long time. Until earlier today, I had not spoken to him since he left... since he became a diplomat - years ago - but I have known him for a very long time..." he murmured with a soft, slightly whistful smile. He hadn't realised how much he had missed Jillian until their meeting earlier in the day. "He was... we were supposed to meet again tomorrow... But I suppose that won't be happening, will it?"

Faryn plainly was crossed by the fact that it was not obvious to him. It never had been. It also made the teen a little nervous that Jillian was from so many kingdoms-- and even a whole other country. He didn't think he was prejudice... but the idea made him uncomfortable. His family for so long... purely Death. Jillan was, essentially, a mutt. A mixture, a mutation... an impurity?
'Look at those people, Faryn,' a middle-aged man sneered in the young child's ear as a carriage rattled a bit over the uneven ground in the Earth Kingdom. A small, pale was pressed to the glass window and dark eyes peered out. Common folk working to survive and make their town a better place. Normal people. Probably very nice people. An oily voice seeped in to the canals of the boy's ear again. 'They're dirty people, Faryn. Earth is nothing but dirt. Remember that, boy. Their skin's dark and dirty. Not like you-- so pale and clean.'
A bit of Earth... Faryn flinched without reservation at the memory. Dark eyes looked Jillian up and down... as another memory flooded his senses.
The rocking of the carriage was more gentle now... and it had been such a long journey! A boy of no more than eleven now sat in the carriage beside a companion he'd much rather not have. 'I'm taking you to one different kingdom every year, Faryn, so that you will remember... don't fall asleep, child,' that same voice commanded. Faryn's drooping eyelids slipped open again and he looked out the window a dusky sky. Shades of deep blues and violet hues swirled on the heavens. The sun... far away, only provided enough light to see through the window at the clear landscaping. The Kingdom of Darkness. People here weren't of a stereotypical sort... but they were lighter skinned and many of them were almost gypsy-like in attire and manner. Free-spirited. Faryn rolled the carriage window down to hear their voices. He didn't know how much he'd miss hearing other voices in the next few years. 'Look how carefree they act Faryn. Buffoons. Fools. Irritations on your skin that you long to itch. You're better. Don't forget that.'
Darkness, too? Faryn put a hand to his brow and rubbed an eye, frowning. A sinking feeling grew in his chest. He started to back away a little bit. Memories came faster now.
It was hot. The sun was bright, yet he liked how warm it made him feel. An unusual sensation. It had been over a year since the last trip and a 13-year-old youth sat in the carriage with the same companion. The Kingdom of Fire. Burning bushes and lanterns were consistent parts of fruitful landscaping. It was pretty. 'These people are too rash in decision. They never think anything through and are fools, Faryn. Too much power in military-- not enough in smart royals. You're better. You're perfect.' Faryn opened his mouth to object or question but was silenced with a club to his knee with a fierce cane.
Another step backwards.
2 years later and a trip to two nations at once. A body of water out one window was as tumultuous as could be and rain hit hard against a closed window. The Kingdom of Storms. That voice, now holding a bit more rasp, came again and without giving way to the youth's desire, passed final judgement, 'Moody, rash people. You don't like them, Faryn and they don't like you. Inferior in every way. Do you understand?' The boy nodded boredly, clearly broken in spirits in every way.
Two weeks later he found himself in the Kingdom of Light. Bright, seemingly joyful, and the antithesis of the atmosphere within that carriage. 'What are we learning, Faryn?' a haughty tone commanded to know. An unenthused voice mumbled in response. Nothing a solid whack didn't fix. 'Ah! ... We're learning that I must always appear to like those I know who are inferior, sir.' A gloved hand of the royal slipped out and cupped the pretty teen's chin. 'That's right. Good boy.'
Faryn's vision was going blurry and he stepped backwards again, away from the group. A sharp pain started deep within his head, and the boy took both hands to hold it.
It couldn't have been but over a year ago and Faryn was definitely feeling the chill of the Ice Kingdom. And it didn't help the already cold, detached atmosphere within the carriage. The teen was nearly grown up and into his current state of mind with little room for more influence. He'd lost his mother years before and the wall around his heart was quite set. He'd been locked away, brainwashed, unable to interact with others in casual settings, and had the remainder of his childhood quite stolen from him. 'Look out the window, Faryn,' the voice he both hated and still relied upon told him.
Faryn blacked out and fell down the stairs from which he and Jillian had just come.
'I am, Father.'

Jillian, who had been about to turn back towards Dax and Sayael and further explain himself, stopped in mid motion as he saw Faryn flinch and step back from him and then... he was falling? He reached forward, trying to catch the other, but he was too slow. "Faryn!!" he exclaimed, worry etched in his features.
Sayael, who's expression had been querulous in every detail, looked uo as the boy thudded down the stairs, clearly shocked. He some how doubted Faryn would usually be so clumbsy as to fall down the stairs and would have laughed if he hadn't sensed the seriousness of the situation.
Jillian ran down the steps to where Faryn lay, his slack position making evident his unconscious state. He bit his lip softly, worry etched in his expression as he held out his hand, a faint green healing light reaching out to the unconscious male.

... Warmth...
Was the sensation Faryn felt as he lay there, not remembering what happened and not knowing from where this feeling came. It was comforting. But as Faryn's black pools slid open, the shock of light made him feel a bit woozy. Vision and consciousness snapping into place, he sat up suddenly.
"Jillian!" he exclaimed in surprise, having not known the other was so near to him before. Then the sharp pain in his head returned, eliciting a painful groan. "Ahhg..." His hands went up and he bent his head forward, holding the sides of it in pain.
