Devon looked at Lark's outfit. It was only the third she tried on and he didn't like it. Did Bo buy these dresses? He's have to remember to kill her later.
"It's too short. Look how much leg your showing. He shouldn't need to see that." he grumbled.

"Devon for goodness sake, that's what you said about the last two dresses this one only stops mid-calf how is that to much leg." Lark protested before digging into her closet and grabbing three more before heading in the bathroom to change.

Devon looked grumbled. "Well the neck was too low." he added. Lark had a generous chest. He wasn't about to let her wear something that allowed that infidel a chance to ogle. Oh, god. I'm using words like infidel. he groaned inwardly.

Lark sighed heavily she knew Devon didn't like this just as much as she didn't if not more but did he have to be so stubborn really, it wasn't like she was marrying this creep she was marrying Devon, if she didn't know any better she'd say Devon was jealous but he was above that wasn't he? She came out of the bathroom with a green dress on this time. "How bout this. " She asked for what felt like the umpteenth time

The crease between Devon's brow grew ever deeper. "NO. Too tight." he sighed. "Remind me to dismember Bo slowly."

Lark made a face it was something between hurt and angry. "Hurt Bo and you'll be living outside and never come into my room again." she told him shutting the do or for what she planned to be the final time. Putting on the last outfit she had in their with her.

Devon flopped back on the bed. "Whatever you say." he grumbled with a salute. He waited as she changed between outfits once more. All this was really getting under his skin. He didn't like this at all. He had half a mind to hide Lark in the basement. He glanced up as she came out again. He was suddenly filled with feelings of irritation and... I feeling he couldn't quite put a name too. Similar to seeing a cute kitten or something. She was adorable in the simple red dress. He smiled dispite himself. Not that he hadn't loved the other numbers. A few sexy, some classy, or demure and some just plain. But this cute dress was Lark. As that Prince would see it. The smile disappeared again. "No."

"Yes actually." She countered coming out of the bathroom, she saw the smile and his eyes get big he liked it but he wouldn't admit it. She guessed what he was up too now, he was trying to make her miss the date entirely by delaying her with no's on all the outfit's she tried on. "Your cute Devon but enough is enough, you said you would support me but how can you do that if you won't even let me wear a simple dress." She told him with a look of disappointment in her eyes before turning her back on him to put on her hair and makeup.

Again Devon was reminded of how much Lark had him in her hands. The minute he saw the look of disappointment on her face, he mood plummeted. He felt guilt and stupid and a need to fix it filled him. However, he wasn't about to apologize for delaying her date. Every cell in his body was screaming at him that it was wrong to let another man see her that way. With all that inner turmoil, it was getting hard to think. He rubbed his face. Some King he was at the moment. "Just... ignore him." he grumbled. "I just want this over with."

Lark turned and looked at Devon when he spoke she could here the strain in his tone like he was holding back some strong emotion and he had his face turned away which was another clue. "Oh Devon really? Your jealous of him aren't you?" She asked him coming over to him and kissing him. "I love you, not him just think of this a business date

Devon growled. "I am NOT jealous. I'm angry that I should have to share you with anyone." he protested. He was silent again for a moment before he sighed and sat up. He grabbed her arm gently and pull her to him. "You're mine." He grinned wolfishly. "And I love you too."

Devon rolled his eyes. Below a car horn sounded. He growled something unintelligible. "There's the man now. Let's get this night over with." he sighed wearily.

"Don't worry Fredrick will keep an eye on me and even Bo said she would help too right besides there's still your big plan after all." Lark spoke with confidence even though she was nervous and afraid at the same time. She kissed his check and headed out, grabbing her coat.

"Be careful, Lark." he called after her. She watched to head out the door and before walking over the the dresser. He opened a draw and pulled out an ear piece. "Hey guys, you hear me?"
Scott watched from a car a few houses down as Lark stepped outside the house. "I have to tell you, Devon. This takes paranoia to a whole new level." he said remarked, looking threw a set of binocular.
"Just keep an eye on her. Something isn't right with that guy."
