Jack was relieved he hadn't killed her and quickly shielded his eyes when she fired the blinding arrow. Something in his heart told him to give chase and without thinking much he returned his weapon to his pendant and lept out of the window to follow after Nala.

"Hey wait Nala! Don't go!" he called out to her not realizing he had lept onto some branches and was now trying his hardest to get his footing. Just when he thought he had caught up to the elf he slipped and began to fall out of the tree. It wasn't very high but if he did fall chances were Jack would break something.

(I figure Nala could save him. :3 if you want her to. >.>; you know grab him so he doesn't fall xP)

Saya watched as Jack stepped in, sighing under her breath and sealing her katana back into a tanto. Taking the moment to catch her breath, she kept a close eye on what exactly Jack was doing. Could he really cut the last string without cutting Nala? Her heart skipped a beat, her eyes growing wide as Jack brought his sword down. She crossed her fingers, whispering under her breath, "Please let this work." She sighed in relief, seeing the string fade, and looking on hopefully as she hoped Nala was back to herself. "N-Nala?" She stuttered weakly, taking a step forward. With a small gasp, she covered her eyes from the blinding light. She blinked in surprise and shock, slowly putting away her weapon. "Theus! His long were you here?" She questioned, moments before Jack went after Nala. "Jack, wait!" She ran to catch up, springing out of the window after the two. She waved her arms wildly for a moment in an attempt to stay balanced, diving forward just in time to grab Jack's hand. "Dear lord, that battle took a lot of energy out of me!" She exclaimed, grinding her teeth and slowly pulling him back up. "A-Are you okay?"

Saya shook her head, waving her hand casually, "No way you were going to die like that." She smiled back at him as he blushed and looked down. She was just relieved she had grabbed him in time, there had already been enough drama for one day. She grew a little sadder as she thought about Ursula. She was a loss to the world.

She brushed her hair back, shaking her head slowly. "I think we should regroup first, make sure everyone is okay. And if possible, make contact with everyone else too, in case we wernt the only ones attacked today." Theus had shown up again, she was curious to know if he had some kind of news for them. "Maybe then we can look for Nala." She looked at their hands as he grabbed hers, "You don't owe me anything, and after you freed Nala just now...That was all I wanted, really. So, thank you." She looked up at him with tear stinging her eyes, "I'm sorry about Ursula, she was a treasure to all of us."
{Nah. Saya's a maiden, they don't carry pandora, only protect those who do.}

Jack smiles sadly. "It's alright, knowing Ursula she would have given her life for everyone long ago. Although, this means I really don't have..anyone anymore." leaning back he looked into the sky.

"She was the only family I had...the only person I really could turn to. I never knew my real parents, but Ursula told me that I was given into her care before they died. It's...going to be quiet now that for sure." he sighed tearing up a little.

"It's funny, someone dies while another is freed from a curse..isn't life..funny sometimes?" he asked looking at her with sad sincerity. Suddenly hearing a voice he looked down to notice Vivyne shouting out to them.

"We're alright!" he called back waving to her happily. Wiping his eyes he stood up and smiled down at Saya. "Regrouping sounds like a good idea." he smiled softly offering a hand to help her up.

That's not true Saya thought, sitting quietly as she strongly urged herself not to cry. Jack wasn't alone, not even close. He had so many people at his side, and so many people with whom he'd started long lasting relationships.

She rubbed her eyes before the tears could escape, shaking her head as Jack continued. That wasn't true either. He had family, and after the last few weeks, she could only wish for silence at times.

"Yeah, it is funny." She replied, looking back at him as a few tears stained her cheeks anyway. she looked at Vivyne. "We'll be right there!" She dried her face on her sleeve as Jack stood up. Taking his hand and following suit.

"You're not alone Jack, and you have someone, plenty of people, to rely on...even me. I promise." she crossed her heart, a smile coming back to her face as she kept his hand in hers and walked back to Vivyne where she waited at the window.

She climbed back in, careful not to cut herself on the glass, and quickly paled. "Uh...dad? Theus is one of the good guys, I swear. Can you please lower your weapons?"

Hearing his daughter words, the father dismissed the arsenal of weaponry. Immediately Theus gave a sigh of relief. "I was this close to being swiss cheese..." He grumbled, walking over to Vivyne. At least she would appreciate him.

It was then Mel'Nala walked over to Jack and hugged him. "Once this is all over, we'll give her a proper burial. I shall greatly miss Ursula, now I've lost two of my best friends."

Rick on the other hand punched Saya in the shoulder. "Good work out there, Saya. I'm proud of you. And I'm sorry for jumping the gun with your friend Theus over there."

Jack smiled at Mel'Nala. Often times she had been sort of a second mother to him. Hugging her back he laid his head on her shoulder and sighed. "I feel bad..I always kind of took advantage of her. I guess I just got used to my Mother being around so much..I-I loved her though, d-do you think she will forgive me?" he asked still feeling hurt of the loss of his Mother.

"W-What should I do now? I-I'm kind of homeless.." he said looking into her eyes. Even though Saya had touched his heart, Jack really wasn't sure what to do now.

Saya nodded, sighing quietly as Rick moved his hand through her hair. She wanted to help clean up, but her energy was spent for the day.

She would miss Ursula a lot, but what pleaged her mind now was that Nala had to shoulder the burden of having killed her. Saya didn't think her responsible, but the look on Nala's face showed that she felt completely guilty. Hopefully they would find her soon.

Brushing off the thought for the moment, she smiled and nudged Rick, "She's right, dad."
