"I wonder how high I can make cranky-pants, Capri, jump." he grinned evilly and flipped one of his cards out toward the tree Caprica was laying in. The card soared out and stuck into the tree branch two inches below Caprica's nose. At least, that was how he'd been planning it happening. Right now it was still two feet from the tree, plenty of time to catch it if the grump was paying any attention. Then again, a card on it's edge is almost invisible"If you need clothes Shiyaa, be my guest today and we'll look through my stuff and find a few things for you to wear. I never thought it would be possible to have too many outfits for this kind of job bt I've got at least five of them I haven't even worn yet, and another dozen or so I've only worn once." he looked like he was thinking for a minute before he finally spke again."Make that at least eight outfits I haven't worn yet."

Caprica, feeling quite safe on his branch didn't hear a damn thing. How does one hear a card moving through the air anyway? Maybe if he were blind or something, but his hearing wasn't that good. He scrabbled backwards away from the card as it thunked into the branch in front of his face. He glared at Tristan from afar and pulled the card out of the branch, cutting his hand a bit as he did so. He hissed at the pain. Damnit! Another rip in his glove to stitch closed! He looked at the card and found himself blushing. The queen of hearts. He hissed again irritably and tossed it down into the bushes below. Playing games and taunting him like this. Had he no respect? Caprica knew damn well no one liked him. No one would want him like this. He shifted on the branch and turned his face away, settling back down to sleep. You'll leave it at that if you know what's good for you you b*****d.

He didn't think any of Tristan's clothing would propery fit Shiyaa... but he couldn't think of a reason to complain if the boys wanted to play dress up.

"Hey!" he cried out when Tristan sent the card spinning up into the tree. ...And after that sequence of events was over, he looked at Tristan darkly, "Such a clown... Don't make me confiscate those, okay?"

And he looked up the tree toward Caprica... but all was quiet on that front.

"Don't be such a downer, he's perfectly fine isn't he. I know what I'm doing ok. Besides, I think he needs a friend, maybe he'd stop being such a puddle of grump if he did." he bent over and picked up the card he threw, he noticed a few drops of blood trickling down it."Oh! I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you. He grabbed the branch above him and made a few acrobatic flips and sat down next to the mute boy.Why don't you like people? he signed it to him, hoping he actually knew how to use sign language instead of just hissing at people.I didn't mean to hurt you, just trying to get some kind of reaction except contempt for the world.

Caprica's eyes went huge at the sudden presence of someone else in the tree. He shifted out further on the branch to put some distance between them. He glared at Tristan for a long time, then signed back to him. I'm mute not deaf you a*****e. He got himself into a comfortable sitting position and glared at him some more, as if trying to bore a hole in his head. People are evil. People mean pain and danger. Why should I like that? I'm not a masochist.

(So you guys are where about now? ... the garden? Ok.)

Followed on both sides by two large, armored guards, Marrek made his approach into the garden. As usual, his attire was nothing short of the finest silks and cloths around. However, wishing to keep an extra air of safety about him, beneath his dark blue robe, he wore a strong, yet still decorative armor as well as his sword on his hip.

He was led to just the men he wanted to see. He approached in silence, only in the sense that he was yet to speak. Had he interuppted something? he wondered.

"Yes, well. I apologize for not fitting your little label but I mean neither pain nor danger. I'm just a funloving guy trying to have some fun and live life to the fullest. And apparently trying to get a nonexistent smile out of a very cranky cutie." he flipped down out of the tree and landed softly on his right foot, and gracefully faling onto on knee in front of Marrek."My liege, can I help you in any way?" he asked as he fanned out his right arm and tucking it in infront of his chest, he bowed deeply to the king, the sleeve of his shirt hanging gracefully.

Shiyaa nodded at Tristan's offer, then saw Marrek. He quickly dropped into an incredably formal bow. He had been trained to do this when he was young, and now it was completely instint to bow in such a way.

And as Shiyaa bowed Dust did so right with him... almost as though they'd been practicing. It was a schizophrenic sort of image, Shiyaa all decked out and classy and Dust dressed like he was barely qualified to clean stables.

"Good morning your Majesty, I trust all is well?" he said upon looking up, grinning at him like he was his best friend... though whether that was presumptious or not... he didn't think about? What's the worst that'd happen? He'd be flogged? ...Nah.

Tristan's sudden appearance only caused him to take a small step backward. Any other sign of surprise, the king kept well hidden. He waited until the three were all bowed before him before deciding to speak. "It's come to my attention that the battles within the Pit have become a bit.. repetitive," he announced, meeting Dust's friendly smile with unamused and narrowed eyes. "Fighters cross blades, someone dies, and the winner reaps his glory.. Therefore, I've decided to set a series of games into one big competition." He paused only a moment to let his words settle in.

"Very few will survive," Marrek continued, a rather malicious grin replacing his scowl. "But the sole winner will receive a prize beyond their imagination.. I want the word to be spread. Not only do I want all fighters to join, but any whom think they're worthy of glory surpassing royalty."

Caprica peered down at Tristan curiously as the other fighter jumped out of the tree and stopped pestering him. Cutie? He must be going blind too... Lying down on a tree branch as he was he had no chance of bowing to the king. He was already as low as he could go. He listened with great interest about the news of the battle. His heart beat faster. Yes! Finally a battle worthy of my skill! I will be truly feared in this arena. To hell with the prize! I want my blades to drink the blood of my opponents as they never have before. A rather eerie grin spread across his face. There wasn't any joy in it, rather it looked more like a big cat ready to eat some poor unfortunate creature under its paw.

"Sounds like fun. I trust the winners glory will be his to share as he pleases? Or is it only a winner take all and to hell with everyone else kind of deal?" he asked politely of the King Marrek.

Dust didn't like the sound of this one bit. He didn't speak, but he was thinking hard. Surpassing royalty? What's he planning? ...This was bad. People were going to get hurt who didn't have to.

Uncharacteristically, he'd lost his focus and stared at His Majesty hard, "What?"

Shiyaa held back a whimper, pouting a bit. He didn't like the sound of that at all. One hand grabbed Dust's arm as a means to comfort himself. He didn't like the thought of this competition at all.

"Sharing?" Marrek echoed Tristan, a small scoff escaping with the word. "Glory cannot be shared, boy. Oh, but the prizes you will be showered with. I suppose you can hand those out as you wish. That is, if whomever you're wanting to give them too will still be considered a friend.. or even alive." His eyes swept over the three before him, gauging their reactions. "Yes, many will die and I'm almost positive you will gain several new enemies. It'd be best to watch your back both inside and outside the arena.. Even among your closest friends."
