 Yay, I found people! I am doing so well at learning the fandangled guild etiquette.
I swear I'll get a hold of the how-to's and what-not's before I start up a roleplay!

Don't look too much into the how-to and what-not. You may avoid some basic mistakes. But you may lose your personal quality, get a stereotype, a hollow ghost of the future GAIA.
We all have our rough edges and those make us special and unique. Keep them, you are perfect as you are. At least some people will tell you that (probably neither your parents, nor your siblings, nor your husband/wife).
Start up a roleplay. If it works - perfect. If not - you will know then what to change the next time. There's only one thing you should ever be in your own roleplay - be dedicated to it: Cling to it even if it runs not like expected, fight for it if it turns slow, be creative with new ideas to spice it up.

I like you already. You're very down-to-earth compared to me.
There are plenty of times that I would rather be grounded, but
my mind is just so far out there and gone... But hey, that's life.
We get what we get. :]

Life grounds you anyway...sooner or later. Keep high-flying as long as you can. I doubt that there are a lot of birds who wish to be an earthworm instead (granted it may be because they fear to be eaten then by their siblings)

see them consider it though! I mean, doesn't a dog see itself
as a human--or a human as a dog? Hmm... now I'm looking too

I don't believe that dogs see themselves as humans...for them humans must be some strange, non-logical creatures. You get a reward if you bring some stinking, old, badly-worn slippers to them, but if you destroy them to allow your master to get finally a new pair you get scolded?!?!
Some dogs may see humans as a dog though. One of the lower ranks, who has to run around with its tail tugged in all the time and who has nothing to say at all...

it would be fun to see the world through the eyes of a dog... I
guess it would all depend on the type of master you had.
