Well thank you for the glowing praise MF. ^^ heart My biggest problem is I fear I can't write the same way I RP cause I'm always bouncing off other ideas that have been placed before me. Plus one of us has to stay out of the contest to judge it. =P

Halloween Sweets
Cordellia hated Halloween, from the candy to the parties. Everything about the holiday made her sick. Now October wasn't a bad month, no. Nor was November, and the rest, but for Cordelia Halloween meant emptiness. Now she was a beauty, with firey auburn hair and curves that would knock a man to his knees. Still she was rather shy about it and often wore clothing too large or too tacky to really bring out her beauty.
So for the most part Cordellia just sat at home, her heart broken and alone. Why was she alone you ask? Sure the woman had friends, and a good job to go to. Enough pocket money to carry, and a warm house to live in. Still, she hated everything. Oh there was a time when she loved Halloween. In her teenage years she would go to costume parties with her friends, trick-or-treat until dawn, sample every sugary goodie that came her way.
Oh those were the days. She had a man once too, who loved Halloween as much as she. Together they would visit every haunted attraction around. They loved each other so much that they married, but their marriage didn't last when it was found out that she would be barren.
"Curse this day!" she grumbled staring out the window in sadness. Watching the mothers with their children out trick-or-treating, she let out a sigh. "Oh how I wish I had a child. Maybe then he wouldn't have left me for someone who could! Oh how I hated this blasted holiday!!"
It was then she heard a knock on her door. Startled she walked over and opened it. A bent old haggy woman stared up at her. "Why hello there dearie." stated the old woman with a smile "I am but a humble witch making her rounds. I noticed your house had no decorations upon it so I made it my duty to investigate." crooned the old woman as she stared up into the sad eyes of the beautiful woman before her.
"What of it!?" snapped Cordellia. The nerve of this woman! She was just about the slam the door on her warted face when suddenly the old witch pulled out a small sack.
"Now now dearie, you musn't get sore. I come baring a gift. Just something I love doing this time of year." she smiled handing the bag to Cordellia.
It felt light yet lumpy. Inside there were dozens of candies within colorful wrapping. Candy!? This old woman was giving her candy!! Just as she was about to protest, the woman..had vanished.
She probably wasn't even a real witch! With a sigh she shut her door and set the bag on the table. After a few minutes of doubt she figured, why not? Maybe one wouldn't hurt! Opening a piece of candy she popped the sweet treat into her mouth and momentarily was taken on a ride of bliss!
"Oh my! These are..delicious!!" she cried popping another into her mouth. And another, and another, and another. These sweets were so addicting that she hadn't noticed they weren't ending. The bag oddly didn't have a bottom. Her tiny tummy started to feel sick and she almost threw up a few times.
"Oooohh.." she moaned feeling a bit queasy. The candy still called out to her, and after a moment of sickness she continued on. On and on she ate. Unaware that her tiny belly was now getting full.
It looked bloated now, and somewhat lumpy and with each pieced of candy it grew bigger and bigger. Rounder, lumpier, and plumper until it burst right out of her shirt.
"AHH!!" Screamed Cordellia at the sight before her. The woman's belly, had become a giant pumpkin. What an odd feeling too. Touching it's bumpy surface she wondered if this was some kind of dream? Still the candy called to her, and despite her fear, the woman continued her candy munching.
Bigger and bigger her pumpkin belly grew. Looking pregnant now, she couldn't stop. Though it weighed her down some, Cordellia didn't care anymore. If she was cursed or to die right now, then so be it! She had no one to love, no one to care for, so if she died well who would really miss her?
It was then she felt movement from inside. Letting out a gasp, a light blush appeared on her face. Somehow, she was pregnant! Tears of joy spilled down her cheeks as she felt the child kick at her hands. She felt it craving more, and whatever was in these candies she couldn't stop herself.
She ate, and ate, and ate..until the bag..was empty. "Ooph!" she grumbled, her stomach looking like a giant ripe pumpkin. "T-The bag is...oohh what is..." lurching her stomach seemed to be heaving. She had grown a whole nine months of pregnancy!
A light seemed to be coming from inside of her stomach as an image of a smiling jack-o-lantern was seen upon the smooth bumpy surface of her belly. Pain shot through her and for a moment Cordellia thought she was going to die.
Her screams were unheard and eventually her voice was joined by another. Laying there exhausted from her magical birth. Cordellia cradled the small pumpkin headed child in her arms. Her wish had come true, she had finally given birth to a child of her own. One that brought both pain and joy.
The child grew up loving Halloween just like his mother. Her heart filled with love and joy again, everyone that knew her loved Jack as much. The boy grew up and eventually took over Halloween himself, becoming the next king of the holiday. For Cordellia, she now had a large family of pumkin children. Having become a witch herself, she went door to door delivering her magical candies to any barren women eager to hold a child.
She had never been more happier and each year she looked foreward to Halloween, and all the festivities it brought with it.
The End

@Viper: Np. I mean it! ^_^ Well, it can be fun to try new things. You never know, maybe you can brainstorm a few ideas and find connections between them. I think about the story or the characters that I have in mind and then I try out different scenarios in my head. I think 'what if...this', or 'what if...that' and I write them all down on a Word document or scribble them on the nearest bit of paper and then string them together later. Sometimes just sitting down and typing up random things that pop into your head can help. You can then link a couple together and see what happens. Everyone has their own way of brainstorming and going about writing but I have a feeling you can definitely do it. Inspiration can come from anything and anywhere. I think I'm going to sit out this contest this time around. I still don't have any ideas and I'm not going to have as much time as I thought because the other admin lady's just gone on leave for all of next week so I'll be working full time. So, if you want to enter, go ahead. I'd be happy to judge the contest this time around. I enjoy doing so and it's been a while since I last did it. @Star: Oh, well, what happens is we quote everyone who entered last time to see if they want to enter again. These are our 'writers' that Viper tells to 'have at it!' Lol. I loved your entry this time too by the way. That twist at the end made me grin from ear to ear. @Okami: yeah, I know. Writing a whole book is hard but it can really help to have someone to help you with it or collaborate on it. That way, if you get stuck, you can bounce off ideas and talk over things until finding a way to continue. I joined the local writer's group in my area and they're extremely helpful and supportive. A few people have been published that way.

I have someone I would love to write a book with but they live in florida... and I don't get to talk to them all that often. If I was to write it would be by myself....
I just don't want my ideas to get stale and stagnant. I also want to build a cool world and everything... So complicated...

@Okami: You couldn't both use Gaia to write a story on here could you? Or Skype? I mean, there are possibilities to collaborate with others over the internet. Well, the other suggestion would be to start off small. "Hard by the yard but a cinch by the inch", as David Riddell says. XD You could write a whole bunch of short stories and sell a book of those. That would be fun to read! @Deci: It's okay, the contest isn't mandatory so if you prefer to try it out as an RP first, that's completely fine as well. We only accept short stories as entries...but you've given me an idea for something to do with RPs now. Maybe I should make an RP contest some time.

I just don't know of anyone who could help be do the writing. My Fiancee in Florida is the one I'd do the writing with, but he's so busy now-a-days that I barely ever hear from him.
I miss his voice... I miss looking into his eyes... I miss his touch...
I miss him... -_-

Stardust Drifter I'm curious. Why do I keep getting quoted. ^^; Do you want me to write another story? :3 Of course! This is a perfect outlet for you imagination juices. ^^ BTW lets cut some of the chatter and take it to PMs or OCC thread. We dont want this thread to be cluttered with random messages.

(I did it, I got something out this month *cries tears of joy*)
Mina moaned as a wicked cackling filled her room. “please, it's too early.” She moaned, rubbing her swollen orange belly, running her fingers along some of the grooves. Her belly looked like a jack-o-lantern, the glowing orange face flashing as it cackled. “please why can't you just kick.” She moaned, sitting up in bed. “ok ok, I'm up.” She yawned and stretched before getting out of bed. She waddled her way to the kitchen, her black cat running away from her noisy belly. She grabbed some frozen waffles and put them in the toaster, rubbing her belly and groaning, the cackling calming down some as the waffles heated up. Minas pregnancy wasn't always this strange, in fact it was completely normal until recently. As soon as October came around she thought she was having a quite little boy. The first morning was the most startling, the usual soft kicks replaced by the cackling and glowing. Her belly swelling some and changing colors so she looked like a walking pumpkin. After finding out she was still having a healthy, though quite odd, pregnancy she was able to calm down and get used to it. Her train of thought was interrupted by her belly shouting 'BOO' and the toaster popping, causing her to jump and her heart to skip a beat. “Every time.” she muttered, smiling some and rubbing her cackling belly. It was one of the things she enjoyed about this turn in events, her baby loved to scare people and had just the means to do so. “You know some day you're going to break my water doing that, then this sweet little arrangement you've got set up is going to end.” She said, putting peanut butter and bananas on her waffles before eating them like a sandwich. As she ate her breakfast the cackling and glowing calmed down till she was just waddling around in her underwear with a pumpkin shaped belly. She got ready for work, a sweater to cover and warm her belly and a long dress to cover her legs, some green viny discoloration having grown on her legs, she though they looked like tattoos and hopped they wouldn't stay. After a quick check in the mirror she smiled and happily left for work. At work she sat on a stool behind the register. She worked in a pet store and she used to work with the animals but given the recent development she couldn't work with them, the baby having fun scaring the pets. As she finished checking some one out her belly let out a loud 'BOO', scaring the person and making Mina giggled. “Sorry about that, he's a bit hyper today.” she said, this having been the fifth customer he's scared. As the person left Mina took a moment to watch the people outside, seeing a few kids in costume and smiling. It was Halloween wish she always enjoyed, though this year she spent it working since she needed to get ready for the little trouble maker in her belly. Mina jumped slightly and looked down. She though she had felt a sharp kick but he hadn't kicked in weeks. “what are you doing in there?” She asked her belly, rubbing around to try where she had felt it. She jumped again as she felt another at the top of her belly. “A-are you trying to kick your way out?” She asked, rubbing the spot that had been kicked and finding it to be quite tender. She rubbed it some before wincing, feeling even more kicks going down her belly. As she followed the line she found her skin to be soft and sore. “what's going on?” She mumbled, looking around some before lifting her shirt to look at her belly. She gasped as she saw dotted red line going down her belly. “This isn't very funny.” She whined to her belly, gasping as her belly tighten. She let out a moan and rubbed her belly, she knew what was coming and got up. She quickly waddled her way to the managers office and knocked on the door. “come in.” He boss called. Mina swung the door open quickly. “I-I've got to go.” She panted, her boss looking up from the paper. “Why?” He asked, his question answered by water splashing on the ground. “that's why.” She moaned. Her boss nodded and let her go, coming with her out of the office to help her. He let one of the other employees take care of the shop while he drove her to the hospital. At the hospital things only got worse. While she was in labor she wasn't opening up as fast as she needed to be if at all. The pain was incredible, the anesthetics would do nothing and they could only give her so much. They eventually had to resort to doing a C section, something that would be even more painful since they nothing seemed to work. They did things the old fashion way, giving Mina a bite plate as they dug their knives into her. Even then nothing seemed to work, her skin wouldn't give where they wanted it to. Eventually they figured out they needed to cut along the red line that was on her belly. And after what felt like an eternity to Mina and the stressed doctors her baby was born, his hair a bright orange, eyes a grassy green, and a cry that sounded like some one pulling a bunch of cats by their tail. Though that was easily quieted by Mina breast feeding him. Minas body for the most part was back to normal for what she went through. Her stomach was back to normal except for the large scare down the middle of her stomach, the green lines were gone from her legs. She had chosen to name her son Jack, thinking it would be funny given the day he was born and how his last month was spent. As she sat in the hospital cuddling her son as he slept, her own mind on the verge of passing out she wondered to her self. 'When did I even have sex?' she thought to her self, not even remembering how she got pregnant in the first place.
