Danny's father took a step towards Alexander, grabbing his hand and shaking it. He looked him over, a little cautious. "Well, I don't think I've ever met you before... but thank you anyways for taking care of Danny." "He really did help me Dad," she said looking to Alexander, reassuring her dad that everything was okay. "It's nice to meet you, Alexander. I'm Darrien Reinhardt."

"Any time, sir, I try to help when I can and furthermore your daughter has been a simply wonderful guest." He said, gripping the man's hand firmly before releasing him. "From what I can tell, her ankle isn't broken, but I would still take her to an emergency room, as I am not a doctor." He said, reaching into one of his many drawers after moving the thick vines away from it gently. What he removed were what seemed to be some kind of husks full of seed pods, which he handed to Danny. "If you find yourself to be aching, anywhere at all really, heat these, the whole package that is, and lay them over the pain. They're very helpful in relaxing muscles, and their scent is quite calming as well. Hot water is the best way to heat them, but a microwave should work just fine as well." Danny's father released Alexander's hand and watched as he took some sort of plant out of his drawer. Danny's cheeks turned a little pink as Alexander complimented her as her dad said, "Yes, Amanda told me about your situation. Some accident at the lake? You'll have to explain it to me and your mother when we get home," he told Danny, looking at her. He took another look around the shop, a little overwhelmed by all the plants, and then saw Alexander hand Danny the pod. Danny smiled and said, "Thank you, again." "Well, I think it's about time we get going. Your mother is probably going mad at home," Danny's father said, turning towards the door. Danny was a little resistant to leave, but followed her dad out the door as she waved to Alexander. "Bye! I'll see you later!" Danny said back to Alexander as she was ushered out the door. She would love to come back tomorrow, or at least sometime soon.

╔══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗After Danny was gone, Alexander flipped the sign on his door to 'closed' and went back into one of the rooms they'd passed earlier. Opening the door exposed a workshop which was much larger than it should have dimensionally been, full of many vials and flasks. In front of a window, the one area that did not hold books on the wall, was a desk with a rather plush chair, into which Alexander sunk. He had no worries about anyone looking in through said window, as all they would see would be an empty store room. Alexander looked down at the papers and notebooks scattered on his desk, his latest writings on his plant open before him. They were not what held his interest however. Rasiel leaped into his lap then, and judging by the absence of blood on him he had not caught his prey that time. Alexander ran a knuckle down Rasiel's back and sighed. The Naiads were in his mind now. Had he not happened by, Danny would be at the bottom of the lake now. The thought called up the anger he'd felt when holding the Naiad hostage. "I want to protect her Rasiel's, but how can I do that without raising her suspicions?" He asked, not expecting an answer. Rasiel was not yet old enough for any kind of wisdom, and therefore usually opted to remain silent. "You will have to tell her what you are eventually." a hoarse voice said quietly. Alexander closed his bright eyes and leaned his head back on his seat. "I must commend you on your A enerxía espiritual." He said. "When did you get in here, Skah?" The snowy crow fluttered down onto his desk then, landing perfectly on Alexander's notes. "I was not hidden, you were distracted. You are so uses to my Signature that it did not raise a red flag. As I said, you are going to have to tell her eventually, why not sooner rather than later?" Skah asked, turning his head in the way that birds do when interested in something. Alexander shook his head. "You are old and wise Skah, but you do not understand these things. When I told her the last time, it was after we'd known each other for over a year, and it was directly before we were to...well..." He said, coming to a catch. "Mate." the bird provided then. Alexander furrowed his brows slightly. "Not the most deserving word for it, but yes." He said, feeling the need to stand and pace before his desk. "I felt it would be unfair to engage in such a thing with her without her knowing the truth about me. It felt...deceptive." Skah turned to face him as he paced. "And what happened?" he asked. A wry smile came to Alexander's face. "She turned from me and fled back to her home, a place I was not allowed to enter due to her fathers guards against my kind. He'd suspected me since he'd first glimpsed me." He said, watching the ground as he paced. "I did not see her for another month. I did not persue her. I thought she would not return, and for the first time in my long life, I was heartbroken." He said quietly, stopping as the pain of that night washed over him again, if only for an instant. He continued his pacing again. "Then one night, she came into the forest once more. I heard her calling for me quietly...and I went to her. I did not want to go to her, I was still hurting and almost positive she'd come to say her final goodbye, and it was not something I wanted to hear, but still I was compelled to go to her, like a well trained hound." He said, finally sitting. He'd not thought of this time in quite a while, and it's power weighed heavily on him. He smiled softly. "I can remember her words perfectly." He said. However, he found himself unable to speak them as he remembered that night:
"Alexander...?" She called, hesitantly as though unsure of herself. "Alexander...?" And he was there. She jumped as she turned and noticed him. Truly, he did not look his best, though any other mortal woman would have succumbed to him within moments. Still she, who knew him so well, went to him and put her hands on his face "My God, you look horrible..." She said, running her thumbs gently under his darkened eyes and her hands over his unusually pale cheeks. Her beautiful dark eyes were full of worry suddenly, and he almost smiled for it, for he'd to be comforted in thinking he was alright. Instead, he removed her hands from his face, holding them between himself and her. "Why have you returned now?" He asked quietly, looking into those same beautiful eyes, which averted in some shame. "I was frightened..." She said quietly. Alexander raised an eyebrow. "Frightened?" He repeated. "What could I possibly do to you? You know of my kind, you know what repels us, what burns us, and-"
"I'm not afraid of what you are, Alexander!" She said suddenly, meeting his gaze. "I am afraid that all the stories were true! That this" she said, pulling him closer so that their entwined hands were touching both their chests "is false! And that I need you, but you do not need me!" Tears were running down her cheeks now, dripping into the dirt at their feet. "And I've come to you tonight because I need the truth from you now. If...this is false...then you may still use me as needed, for I will not be able to return to my old life, I am not that person anymore..." She said quietly. A feeling of such sorrow rose in Alexander's chest, that he'd caused her so much strife. He released her hands then and held her around her waist tightly so that she looked up into his face. "By God woman, I love you!" He exclaimed, and he kissed her. He felt her tense body melt as her arms went around his neck.
"Alexander."
His hand went to the back of her neck as he felt her fingers twist into his hair-
"Alexander!"
Their kiss was broken for a moment as they both smiled. He felt tears on her face once more, but knew they were of pure joy. He lifted her then, wrapping her legs around his waist as he tipped his head up to continue kissing her. This was not the place to-
"Ouch!" Alexander exclaimed as a rather sharp pinch from Skah, who was now in his human form, brought him out of his memories. "So she accepted it then?" Skah asked, giving him a droll stare. Alexander shook his head to clear it. "Yes, she accepted it." He said, running a hand through his hair sheepishly. "But things are different now Skah. They don't happen like they used to." He stood once more and scooped up Rasiel. "No, I will have to reveal my true origin to her in a different way. She is observant, she most likely already realizes there's something different about me..."╚══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝

Danny sat on her bed, legs crossed. The clock read 6:04 p.m. She was leaning over her laptop, one hand on her mouse pad, the other up at her mouth. She had been chewing on her pointer finger nail for a good few minutes now. It was a bad habit, yes. But she had a good reason to have been performing that bad habit.
She was anxious. She hated being anxious. She had been thinking over the day's events and obviously the things that had grabbed her weren't normal. They weren't usually things found in the lake. So she wanted to do a little digging. Her finger clicked the mouse button next to the mouse pad furiously as she scanned article after article. All the while, her speakers were blasting one of her favorite tunes. ...She's a beautiful mess, the kind you love to love. But what happens next?... She bounced her head slightly to the beat, her pink hair up in a ponytail. ...I got a feeling when the sun comes up, I'm gonna wish I had a storm warning... Okay... let's see... no, that seems wrong... Danny thought as she scanned another page... In Greek mythology, the Naiads were a type of nymph who presided over fountains, wells, springs, streams, and brooks... very ancient spirits that inhabited the still waters of marshes, ponds and lagoon-lakes... "What?" Danny said out loud as she read another article. Was that what had grabbed her? A naiad? It seemed a little farfetched, but the thing that had pulled her below the water hadn't seemed too far from farfetched itself.
The next song began to slowly increase in volume. ...Yeah, life throws you curves, but you learned to swerve. Me, I swung and I missed... She pulled a string of hair behind her ear, and stopped reading to think. She'd definitely have to ask Alexander about this tomorrow. This was something Danny couldn't just let go. She was an inquisitive girl, and not one to let anything slip her grip. By tomorrow afternoon, she'd be able to see Alexander again...
Danny sighed. He seemed like such an interesting figure, just waiting to be found out. She had to admit it to herself, she was definitely curious. And, well, Danny? She liked being curious. ... Punch the clock, head for home, check the phone, just in case. Go to bed, dream of you, that's what I'm doing these days...

Alexander awoke the next morning before the sun was up, anxious to get the day started. He got dressed quickly and went to tend to his plants before opening shop. For the first time in many years, he'd slept well the night before. Night had always been his worst time with coping, knowing he'd not be able to see his love the next day. He took his time that morning, knowing the slower he went, the less time he'd have to be antsy about Danny coming. It didn't last as long as he'd hoped really, because by the time he'd finished, even dragging his feet, the sun had only been up for about an hour and a half and Rasiel was finally up and about as well.

Danny's ponytail swung back and forth behind her as she walked along the side walk, her pink hair swishing at her back. Her sandals were silent along the pavement and she looked up the road to see Alexander's little shop. She had driven here but hadn't found the right parking spot, so she had decided to park a little ways away and walk. Her dress was smooth around her frame, but comfortable as she walked up to the door to the shop.
She slowly pushed the door open, checking the time on her phone. It read 12:47 p.m. The little bell at the top of the door rang as Danny thought, I hope I'm not too early. She looked around and said out loud, "Alexander?"

You may come back if you wish." he called. Currently he was getting extractions from various plants and bottling them, a pair of goggles over his eyes as he leaned over a small bubbling pot. "And also, watch for the creepers in the doorway. They've been particularly mischievous today." He added, referring to a few deep green vines stretched across the floor before the doorway into the back,

Dark amber eyes looked around as Alexander was heard from the back. She walked over to the plush chair she had sat in yesterday, but decided against it as she looked down at her ankle. It had definitely gotten better, but it was still sore. Her mother had taken a look at it as well and had wrapped it in some cloth and pinned it there, just to be safe. The white cloth was clearly visible below the brown leather her sandals were made of. She looked back up and began to walk to the back of the shop. She took her time and watched her step, stopping outside the doorway that lead into the room Alexander seemed to be in. "Alrighty, lemme just..." she started before opening the door a little more and carefully stepping over the vines,

╔══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗Alexander looked up just as Danny began to step over the vines. He took a few quick steps himself over to the pot the vines were originating from and took them up, giving them a jerk to slide them out from under her, as instead of simply looping up to try to trip the girl, they'd begun heading for her ankles. When she was through the door, he released them and they slid back into place. It was a small precaution he'd placed there to make sure no one made their way into the back while he was busy. He slid his goggles up onto his forehead and gave her a smile. "You can join me without having to wear goggles as long as you stay away from that little pot on the end. It's a tad explosive." He said, gesturing to the room he'd come from.

Danny looked up to Alexander as he spoke of explosiveness and she frowned slightly. She tucked a piece of hair behind her ear and walked over to the table he had everything on, careful not to let her curiosity get the best of her. "Aw, but I kind of wanted my own pair of cool goggles," she teased. She grinned, eying Alexander with his own pair atop his head.

He said, going to a small cabinet next to the door. He rummaged in it for a few moments before producing a pair of goggles similar to his own."Will these do for mi'lady?" he asked with a grin.

Danny smiled when he laughed. It was such a warm, comforting sound. She took the goggles from him when he handed them to her and she slipped them over her head, adjusting them when they covered her eyes. She giggled as he said ' mi'lady ' and looked up at him with her goggles on. "Yes, these are perfect. Thank you very much sir," she said, doing a tiny curtsy to be funny.
