After debating a moment Nadia pulled her own phone out too. Part of her just wanted to give River her number and make him call her but she thought maybe he'd end up being too shy for that.
"I'll keep that in mind. I don't text or call any sort of ridiculous amount, mostly to set plans so I'm sure it will be fine. Though I have an unlimited plan so you may text or call me as much as you please." She gave him a sultry smile, designed to encourage him to want to call or text as much as possible. Then she gave him her number.

"Oh, okay. I'll keep that in mind..." He nodded, still grinning like an idiot, then prattled off his phone number for her to save. "Do you uh.. go out and do stuff a lot...?" It was probably a stupid question, but it was the only thing his head could come up with.

Nadia took her turn to punch River's number into her phone before repocketing it and turning her full attention to him.
"I do a fair amount of it. Not quite as much as my brother but between the two of us we know all the hot spots in the human side of town." She tilted her head at him curiously. "Any interest in going out dancing at one of the human clubs? Other then that there's the bars, and a couple small venues if you want to hear some bands..."

River put his phone away once the exchange of numbers was complete. He shrugged a little. "I'm not really too good at dancing, but I'd like to give it a try?" He smiled a little. "I haven't actually been out into town too many times... my dad was always over protective and insisted he go get stuff by himself."

"Well as long as you're up for trying I'll make sure we go somewhere where you can." Nadia smirked teasingly at him. "And I promise not to laugh if you're not that good. I'll just teach you how to do it right."
She frowned a bit though at the line about River's dad being so protective. Sounds like River hadn't really been allowed to live much at all. "That's a shame... Though I can understand it with all the drama. Still though if you go in numbers it's not really that much of a problem. There's a lot of fun to be had and interesting people to meet."

"Oh, good. I'm sure I'll make a fool out of myself." He laughed a little, but it died down at the mention of the drama... His whole being seemed to sag a little, actually. "Haha...yeah... M-my dad's always been kind of nervous, he's not exactly human either..." He shrugged a little, and put up a bit of a smile. "But its not like I was a total shut in or anything, I just didn't go anywhere by myself as a kid."

It was obvious to Nadia she had accidently stepped on a land mine. She mentally sighed and tried to think of how to steer the conversation back on the right track.
"Nothing so wrong with that as a kid. I think it's pretty normal actually." She tilted her head. "My mom wasn't super controlling about that but I think she knew at least two of us were going to get into trouble no matter what she did. Maybe even rebel harder if she kept too tight a leash on us. Regardless, now you're going to have your chance." Nadia grinned again.

"I would think so... I mean... Kids only know so much... right?" He shrugged a little. "But yes... now there's the chance to branch out... and I'm gonna take that chance." He nodded, starting to truly smile again. "Do you have any uhh... plans for going out to town soon?"

Nadia thought a moment, going over her mental list of plans for the next week or two.
"Hmm I don't think I had anything specific planned... but I think I will make a point to do so now that I know you'll be along." She smirked. "Anything in particular you're... itching to do?" He smirk became a playful grin.

River fidgeted a little, regaining that dark tint to his face. She was being awfully... he didn't know what the word was, but whatever it was it was causing a lot of fuzziness in his head and he wasn't sure if that's what it was supposed to be doing or not. "U-uhh I uhh--" his voice cracked a bit and he blinked, looking rather embarrassed. "Y-you know I haven't been swimming in awhile? Do you like swimming?"
He kicked himself mentally. That was such a lame idea. So lame.

Really, River was just too cute, Nadia couldn't believe it. The ease of flustering him was really a fun game in her mind.
"Why River.... you just want to get me into a bikini don't you?" She teased him with a grin and batted at him playfully. Swimming wasn't her normal scene but she certainly didn't mind trying different things to do to break it up. "I'm game for going swimming though I'm not not the best at it, so I usually stay to the shallow end." She shrugged. She wasn't sure if it was because her item had been more fire and smoke based but she had never seemed to get the hang of swimming really well, that and being where there was all that deep water made her nervous.

River's face flushed darker and he waved a hand frantically. "I didn't...! I didn't mean th-that uhh... I mean... s-swimming is fun!...uhhh..." He sighed and just sort of... face planted into the back cushion of the couch. "That came out wrong. All wrong." He really wasn't sure he'd be able to sit up and look her in the eyes after that. That was just terrible by anyone's standards.

Nadia tried to suppress a laugh as he faceplanted into the pillows but ultimately failed.
"River, I'm just teasing you." She giggled a bit. "I wouldn't be mad if that was your motive anyway. But I figured you just suggested it because you think it's fun. Just relax." She reached out to pet that fluffy hair a bit.

"Ugh... b-but still..." He sighed, peeking out at her a little. "S-sorry..." After another moment, well, the moment that Nadia got to pet his hair. After that he sat up, face still rather dark from blushing. "W-well uhh... If s-swimming is fine then... we could do that... sometime..."

"Yes we will definitely be doing that sometime soon. For now though....I've gotten a bit hungry so I think I'm going to see about getting some lunch. You're welcome to tag along if you want." Nadia started unfolding from how she was sitting and stood next to the couch to peer at River, waiting for an answer.
