((EDIT: Thank God!))
Samedi waited for the wounds to close, but with a strange stutter the guardian's energy blinked out, leaving it just as wounded. He smirked, his ancient marchment-dry features creasing into a feral, adrenaline-charged snarl as he threw another few kunai at the guardian. Most of them were blocked or simply deflected, dodged, or in one case accidentally cut in half by the bladed rings at the guardian's wrists, but one of them found its target and entered the gaping wound in the guardian's stomach. "This will end soon, guardian."
He performed a series of handsigns and placed his hands on the ground, channeling chakra into the earth. A massive surge of chakra entered the ground. "Shuuha Oujou no Jutsu!"

((I hope so, too.))
Samedi created a wall of earth while his chakra continued to be drained into the Shuuha Oujou no Jutsu. The guardian was beginning to wither, at least in appearance, and its movements were slowly but steadily slowing down. He smirked as he reflected that in this enclosed space there was no way, short of jumping over the edge, that the guardian could escape his death jutsu. Then the top of the earth wall was scythed off, along with the top of Samedi's hat.
Everyone has their own set of rules, the regulations that guide their moral code, and everyone has an exception to the rule. Samedi's was: "But not the hat. No-one touches the hat, OK?"
He looked numbly at the floppy corpse of his headgera, then up at the guardian. And then the red mist descended.
(6/10, 2/5 for Shuuha Oujou no Jutsu)

Samedi's hat was shredded, and that was the one thing he would never put up with. He jumped up in the air and performed a series of hand seals, then a second series directly after. "Kiwamarinai Kutsuu no Jutsu! Doton: Tsuchi Zuhan Danmaku!"
The ornate mosaic stones on the floor, cracked and ruined from the battle, floated up in the air and soared towards the guardian. Most of them were blocked or dodged, but enough got through that the guardian threw back its head and howled in pain, the few tiles that hit it having their pain magnified by five hundred percent.

The guardian was faltering quickly, with pieces of its armor hanging loosely from its muscular frame. Gashes, bruises, and the gaping hole in its abdomen oozed violet ichor onto the floor, but Samedi didn't let up. He charged at the guardian, his old bones creaking in protest as he dodged a clumsy punch and cut the guardian's entire left arm off, the resulting gout of blood painting him bright purple from his waist up. He flicked his hand and a dark chakra thread extended towards his special kunai, still buried in the wall. He jumped away as he sent a different surge of chakra into it, causing it to explode instead of aging the wall to dust. The guardian screamed in pain as a chunk of rock caught it heavily on the back of the head, knocking it over.

Samedi slowly walked over to the guardian, struggling to lift itself from the rubble. He stuck his sword into the ground and knelt down, pulling the guardian's eyeless face up to meet his own. With a feeble dragging sound it attempted to raise an arm, but failed. "Even one as ancient as you can lose to me... I'm not so old as I thought, am I?"
He let the guardian's head hit the ground and walked over to his sword, picking it up and turning just in time for a last desperate light beam to burn off a chunk of his hair and what was left of his hat.
(9/10, and 5/5 for the clan jutsu. It dies next post.)

Putting out the embers of his sparse hair and ruined headgear with a gesture, Samedi walked over to the guardian. "No-one touches my hat. I'll be seeing Macha now, thank you."
He twirled the sword and let it drop, the razor-sharp blade cutting through what was left of the guardian's skull like a hot knife through butter. It shuddered for a few seconds, then hit the ground, the last of Samedi's jutsu causing it to crumble to dust. He casually turned around and sheathed his blade, walking back to the glowing orb that led to the main entrance and touching it, letting himself be warped back to the temple. As he lightly touched down the glow faded behind him, leaving another altar dark. A rose petal landed on the tip of his staff, and another drifted past his eyes. Without turning around, he nodded. "Hello, Macha."

((Nope. Innis doesn't have either of my chakra types. Samedi uses earth/water chakra, and Innis has wind/fire chakra. Macha, though, has earth/water chakra, a perfect match. Plus, I read Bleach and my fave character's Byakukya Kuchiki, whose sword can turn into a trillion tiny cherry blossom petals that can slice his opponent to ribbons. SENBONZAKURA KAGEYOSHI FTW!!!))

Macha bowed to Samedi, petals swirling around her form. "Hello, old one who defeated my guardian. You wish for my power?"
Samedi nodded and drew his blade again. "Of course."
They began sparring, both of them testing for potential openings as they danced back and forth across the temple grounds, Samedi giving as good as he got. Macha's style was whirling, deadly, with light strikes in innumerable profusion, unlike Samedi's quick, deep stabs. As they broke Macha brushed back the metallic dreadlocks that stood in for real hair. "You fight well, old one."
Samedi smiled and flicked a drop of violet blood off his blade. "As do you, Temptress."

Samedi disappeared and Macha saw the sword coming out of her chest, and then raised her hand to block the strike that sliced through the veil behind her head. "A genjutsu specialist, then, to cast one that could be so realistic even to me..."
Samedi held on to his sword as he was pushed backward by Macha's claws. "Color me flattered, child."
Macha closed with him and they began their deadly dance again. "You should have gone for Innis. She would have been a good match for you."
Samedi parried one of Macha's strikes and brought his sword up to bat aside another hand. "True, but she did not resonate properly with me."

The two combatants danced back and forth across the temple, strikes gradually flowing into a dance of death, every attack from Macha very nearly hitting but missing by less than a hairsbreadth, and every one of Samedi's strikes likewise slicing air. The two broke apart, both breathing lightly, and straightened. "Impressive skills, Baron. I would not think you would have them at your time of life."
Samedi smiled, the sparse lines on his face fading as he did. "All thanks to you, Temptress. I believe your Temptation might be reverse-aging my body back to its prime. More's the fortune if it is."
Macha was slightly surprised. "Have you displayed your limits to me, Baron?"
Samedi shook his head and disappeared, this time truly vanishing in a burst of speed. Macha brought her hand around and swiped her claws though the air just as Samedi's chest materialized inside the space, but they passed through nothing. A thin gash appeared, traveling up Macha's arm and spraying violet blood onto the ground. Samedi appeared in his previous position. "Now I have. Are they to your liking?"

Macha nodded, but placed her chin on a fist, cupping her elbow with her other hand. "Taijutsu, certainly. Genjutsu, too. But what of your ninja arts?"
Samedi stuck his sword in the ground and smirked. "Such as this?"
He wavered and disappeared, and his real body stepped out from behind a pillar. "When I disappeared, in case you were wondering. Do I pass?"
