Devon held her close. "See? The only way I would ever be miserable is if I was alone. But I have you." he told her. He rubbed her back to try and ease her crying. He stayed holding her, until he felt her sobs start to ease a bit. "I need you to be brave for me, my Lark." he said finally, moving so he can see her face. Her face was stained from the tears and red from weeping. He wiped the dampness from her cheeks best he could. "We both have a trying day ahead up us, and I need you to pull yourself together. Can you do that for a few hours? I'll help you as much as I can." He was slightly relieved that he has relieved her of some of her self inflicted misery. But not they had to get to the source. And that meant getting a certain date over with.

Lark against his chest she dried her eyes not wanting to move from the sanctuary of Devon's arms but knowing she had to. "I'll try but it won't be easy." She told him honestly even though she still felt no where near ready for tonight still, and right now she felt so drained emotionally and for some reason physically as the sedative that had been hidden in her tea started to kick in

Devon nodded. "Luckily, it won't be until tonight. So you have time to rest up and then clean up before then. I think I have a plan, but I'll tell you after you are rested. Alright?" he told her, running a hand through her hair.

Lark sighed comforted by Devon's habit of running his hand. "That's fine, I trust you." she told him honestly. Giving him a peck on the lips before saying in his ear. "I love you." Lark told him before lying down on her bed finally able to calm down and relax due in large part to the sedative in her system now, and Devon's comforting presence it was a huge relief to her as she closed her eyes and diffed a off.

As Lark drifted off, Devon stood and went to the shelf. He would be fine reading for awhile. It would help pass the time and calm his own thoughts. He pulled a random one down and sat in his chair. After a time he nodded off in the comfortable seat, the book resting in his lap.

Kaleb sighed waiting by the car a light jacket on his arms it would be snowing soon he could smell it on the air, not that he needed it. On his fourth cup of coffee since he woke up this morning it had only taken him 5 minutes to get ready but even at his wife's age it took almost a half hour for her to get ready. He rolled his eyes What was she doing in there? Deciding what knife to bring? He thought.

Theresa finally came out, fussing with her hair a bit. "Sorry I took so long." she said. "Do I look alright. I feel like my hair is unmanageable today." Despite he belief that if was messy, it did lay rather neatly into the bun she put it in. It had taken a bit to pin it right and apply a little makeup. She may be going to just see Lark's mother, but she wasn't about to go with a naked face and messy hair. She brushed the front of her blouse. "Alright, let's get going."

Kaleb sighed shaking his head at his wife. "We are going to a confrontation with what our son believes is some kind of insufferable monster that you want to met and your, worried about your hair. I really hope Lark doesn't pick up your finicky habits." The old wolf complained before getting in his truck and starting it as his wife got in glaring daggers at him while he drove very fast down the road to the Glass residence.

Theresa glared at him. She shouldn't have expected anything but a grouchy answer from him. "A good appearance can make a difference." she said stiffly. "Would you rather I go looking frazzled and unkempt?" She turned her gazed out the window. "And slow down. It would be just your lucky to get a ticket."

Kaleb snorted, "You never complained about my driving before in fact I can recall a time when you encouraged it." The old wolf said grinning to himself and not at all slowing down. "No said anything about unkempt, but you also don't need to dress like your going to meet the queen of England." He said as he pulled up to the house at last and turned off the car, and opened the door for Theresa

Theresa tried not to smile. She pulled down the mirror. "I was reckless newly turned. I thought I was invincible." she said, chuckling at the thought. "Do it really look like I'm meeting the queen. Should I take down the bun?" She really did wonder if she was being too fussy, but she wanted to make an imposing first impression.

Instead of answering Kaleb, quick as lighting reached over and snatched the pins out of her hair and letting it fall over her shoulders making her look like the wild queen she once was. "Now you look ready for that imposing first impression." He told her before firmly knocking on the door.

Theresa expression looked halfway between pleasure and annoyance. He could have just told her to take it out, but for the first time today he'd given her a compliment. About time. She looked at the door as she heard footsteps inside.
Tatiana come down, irritated. Why was someone knocking at her door? There should be no reason for any visits. Unless Lark had come to her senses. She quickly put her glamour in place so she looked like dear Alice. Alice opened the door with a hopeful expression. It turned to shock before she could turn on her act. In front of her were two weres she hoped NOT to see. She quickly recovered, forming her expression into confusion. "I'm sorry. I wasn't expecting company today." she said cautiously. "Can I help you?

Kaleb growled quietly as the feel that he had last night about something been very wrong came back almost tenfold as the very hair on his head stood up, the old wolf couldn't remember a time when he feel that before and begin a top predator he did not like it at all. He watched the woman who was supposed to be Lark's mother suspiciously before clearing his throat. "Good morning you must be Mrs. Glass, I'm Kaleb Lander and this is my wife Theresa. May we come in we would just like to speak with you."

Theresa placed a cautionary hand on her husbands arm, just in case. She felt it too, that electricity to the air. It was familiar as well and it tickled her memory....
Alice opened the door a little wider. She couldn't turn them away without being rude. But perhaps she could stall them. "Ah, I see. Do I know you? I'm not interested in joining any church...."
Theresa laughed. "No, we aren't here for that. We're Devon's parents." she cleared that up. She couldn't help but feel a little weird. She felt less like she was in a normal conversation, and more like she was a player in a skit.
Alice look surprised. "Oh. Well then come in. Would you like something to drink?"
