(Trying to, anyway.)
PostPosted: Fri Jul 25, 2008 4:33 pm

((ok then!))

Gabriel could smell whoever was intruding her cave. The doe she had fed on earlier was skinned, gutted, and cut up. Different parts were put in different canisters, trying to finish bleeding the animal. The vampiress was in no mood for a fight. It was probably someone trying to rid the area of her evil. She couldn't even remember the last time she actually left her cave. And the last human she fed on had tried to kill her. Any where else, it would be seen as self defence. But mortal rules did not apply to her. "If you're looking for a fight, you won't find it here. I've done nothing to those who have done nothing to me. I haven't even left my cave in a few decades. Why bother with a sorry excuse of my kind?" She doubted she could change the intruder's mind. He had come there for a purpose. And men with a purpose were dangerous.

The man stopped at her voice. He hadn't sensed her, strangely enough. She must have been asleep. That was the only explanation. "Your kind?" The general asked with a sad voice, and continued to walk closer to her. A wooden stake was loosely tied to his waste, no doubt to stab somebody through the heart. His eyes were more accustomed to the dark than most people, and even could see here in this cave. He stopped in front of her, towering at a hefty seven feet. His entire body was encased in armor, and then in black cloth. Nothing at all could be seen of skin, or face. He decided right then that she was going to be a problem.

"I don't mean to hurt anyone. If anything, I'm ashamed to have to live like this. The only reason I don't leave this cave is so that I'm not forced to hurt anyone." She sighed. It would be no use. He was going to kill her no matter what she said. Slowly, she sat up. Her movements were fluid as she walked over to a mirror hanging on one of the cave walls. Her non existent reflection saddened her. Gabriel's black dress brushed the clean cave floor. Had she not been cold herself, the floor would have sent shivers up her spine. "May I at least know the name of the man that plans to kill me?"

The man shook his head. She was definetly going to be a problem. "You do not understand. I did not come here to kill you." He walked up behind her. The mirror reflected him too, but was not what was sen with the eyes. His reflection was a cloud of black mist with a shining ruby where his heart should have been. "You may call me Paradox. My true name was lost long ago." The general told her in a saddened voice.

He did not mean to kill her? What was this? Some kind of sick joke? At least he honored her with his name, it would be rude not to do the same. "I am Gabriel. Well, that is what I was called so long ago." A sad sigh escaped her. She still breathed out of habit. While the veil was dark, she could still see through it clearly. "If you did not mean to kill me, then why are you here?"

Paradox looked deeper into the cave, through rock and stone to a deeper destination. "You are not the only inhabitant of this cave, Gabriel. I bear a present for another, much like you in some ways. Drastically different in others." Paradox told her. He began walking to the back of the cave, ignoring almost everything else. A hand slipped to the ebony war hammer on his back and grasped the massive handle. It was one of seven similiar weapons strewn across his body, but it was certainly the biggest. "You might wish to step back." Paradox warned her.

The vampiress did as warned and backed up. The only weapon she had kept was a rapier, but that was mounted securely on the wall. She had no idea there were others in the cave. She had never seen them before and the girl had been living there for a long time now. Gabriel did not dare get in his way. If he had not come to kill her, she did not want to give him a reason to.

Courflamme looked around and finished up what meat she could, leaving the rest for the others. She looked over to Latis and huffed. "Hmph, lets get out of here. I don't think we'll find anything else for now. Lets go, hun." She said, the other girl nodding and following her out. Changing into her dragon form, Latis shifted into a bracelet around her front right leg. Cour let out a loud roar that echoed miles across the forest before she took flight again. They would start their flight onward.

The giant man swung the hammer with both his hands. It hit stone, hard stone. Even with it's thickness and hardness, the wall burst forth breaking into another cave filled with stalagtites. Other walls of the massive cavern had been broken through similiarly, but each other one had caved in earlier. In the center of the massive cavern was a single coffin. A simple moon was cared on the front. "You have never been back here before." Paradox said simply. His feet moved forward, over the puddles of cave water to the coffin.

She had never seen that coffin before. She was in shock that it even existed. "Amazing. I have lived here for so long... I must admit I was shocked when you said there was another in here." Her hair was still as she move gracefully towards one wall. Never before had she seen such a man.

Paradox nodded solemnly. "People are always surprised by what is in the places that they never reach." He slowly walked over to the coffin. There was no grace in the way he moved. It was heavy, but somehow seemed unnatural to the giant. His hand, covered in metal and cloth grabbed one end of the coffin, flipping it off, so he could peer inside. Inside the coffin was a man that that could have passed for a young Dracula. In his heart was a rotted wooden stake that had been there for more than a decade. The clothing was all moth eaten, but the young man's skin was smooth and pale. Paradox grasped the rotting stake in one hand, and the new one in the other. "Will you try to stop me?" The giant asked the question as it reverberated around the cave.

Her voice was calm and melodic as she spoke. "What reason do I have to stop you? I know nothing of the man that lays there nor do I feel anything towards him." The cloth around her shifted slightly as she walked to the other wall. "Besides, I hate those like us who steal lives for no reason but fun. For too long I have starved myself, trying to avoid becoming that which I hate." It was obvious the hate that still burned in her silent, cold heart. "Do what you want with him. I care not."
PostPosted: Fri Jul 25, 2008 6:14 pm

The man nodded again. His voice was calm as always. "Good. He used to be like you. He used to be a vampire. But now. . ." He cut off his voice as he pulled out the stake that punctured the young man's heart. The man buckled and opened his eyes. His mouth uttered a cry, "MASTER!!! SAVE ME!!!" before the next stake was slammed into place, pinning the man back into the coffin. The man continued to breathe, but it gradually became slower and slower, until it stopped again. Red eyes closed as if going to sleep. "He remembers every second of every day." Paradox continued. "The stake is supposed to last a thousand years, but only lasts a hundred against such potent magic." Paradox finished. He tossed the rotted stake aside and began walking back to the entrance he had made.

Her eyes glowed with intrigue at Paradox. "How do you know so much?" Never before had such a man caught her eye. Maybe, back when she was human, but she hardly remembered those days. Her funeral-like dress barely fluttered as she walked towards him. Blood was not her interest. She had feed already this month.
